Wow! That is a lot of protein! LOL I don't know the answer. I googled it and found a bunch of conflicting information. I seem to recall that my dietician said there was a max, but that it was difficult to meet that. Would defintely be worth a call. Too much is bad for you...especially your kidneys. Most of us struggle to get enough. How do you get so much?? LOL ~C

Ummmmm....let me see, what kind of mushies.... Cottage cheese, refried Beans, Protein shakes, yogurt, ricotta cheese, tuna salad, canned chicken, eggs. It's all protein laden stuff. It's just that I can only have 2 oz. at a time. I am slowly creeping up to 3 oz. and the dietician said I could have 4 oz. now along with the increase in calories. I am really hoping this will make a difference. I know I'll survive. I know I'll get through this. I guess I just need to vent. And not to mention, it's good to know that I'm not alone. Don't get me wrong, it's like Misery Loves Company, but in a way it is! LOL ~C

Alright, I'm in too! How 'bout the Beastie Boys?? LOL License to Ill I've got my DD into that album...she knows all the songs!!

catchmi: You'll want to be up moving around and walking as dsk said. You may want to keep some Gas-X stips on hand. Some people swear by them. Good luck! You're gonna do just fine! ~C

Hippiemama: Thanks---Must be why I'm crabby and mean and overly-sensitive today  I told the dietician today that I was getting irritable. I think a more appropriate word is bitchy. I'm just darn hungry. I know I'm losing, but it's all been will power so far. I told her if I had so much will power, I wouldn't need the band...I'm running out!!!! She let me increase my caloric intake. I hope that helps. Still gotta stay on mushies though. I'm too afraid to cheat, so I don't even have that! LOL AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Yeah, where is everyone???? It's been so slow around here lately. I was convinced it was because of the nice weather, but this whole weekend was cold. It's cold now, Brrrrrr! HP: You could try a carbon fiber seat post. It is more comfortable as it absorbs the shock better. Carbon fiber is always a bit pricey, but usually worth it. If you are keeping your seat, then take it off and take it with you to shop. You must have the correct clamp on the seat post so that you can adjust it the way you want. They have to match or you won't have the different angles you're looking for. ~C ~C

What to do until fill????
Turler replied to singermama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG I'm hungry too!! I have complained of this since a few days after surgery. My doctor won't give fills until the 6 week appt either. I just got back from seeing the dietician, and she is sympathetic, but cannot allow me to advance to solids for fear of stretching the 'pouch' above the band. She is allowing me to increase my calories from 600-800 to 1000-1200. Thank goodness. Maybe that will help me. I too am becoming irritable. This my dear friends....must be BANDSTER HELL!!! ~C -
When should i be able to take deep breaths without pain? (post-op)
Turler replied to Hippiemama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hippiemama: Evidently I am interpreting your response wrong. I apologize for getting upset so quickly. I read it that way, but you and many others did not see it the same. I'm sorry. I really do hope you feel better. ~C -
When should i be able to take deep breaths without pain? (post-op)
Turler replied to Hippiemama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your response 'sounds' sarcastic. I was only trying to help. Your post op instructions tell you that it should hurt to breathe????? It's normal for you to have pain/discomfort in the area of the surgery, ie. incisions, aching abdominal muscles. But breathing should be easy. You asked the question. If you are unsure of any of your doctor's instructions, you should call. If you are comfortable with your situation, then don't call. Sorry I pissed you off. Hope you do well. ~C -
Should I have surgery now or wait until after vacation....
Turler replied to Margoboo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Firstly, you need to be SURE you want surgery at all! You will need to decide whether this is the right choice for you and whether you are 100% committed to it. It's not easy, you still have to work for it. You must choose the right foods and exercise. I'm sure you already know all of that though. Once you decide for certain that you want it, then you'll need to decide your date. I don't know what the requirement for waiting is for travel. You should ask your doctor. It sounds awfully soon to me if you go with the dates you listed. It's really up to you. You may want to wait until after so that you have time to rest and focus on your new way of life. Tough decisions. I don't think anyone can answer this for you. I hope you find peace with your choices! Good luck! Do you have family support? How long have you been considering LB? ~C -
When should i be able to take deep breaths without pain? (post-op)
Turler replied to Hippiemama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would call your doctor. It's never normal to painful when taking deep breaths. Better to call and let your doctor check you out and give you some advice rather than waiting it out and have it be something serious. Call your doc...right now!!!! ~C -
I wanna be a 'sucess' too!

B: Thank goodness! I'm so glad you're okay! Get more rest and definitely talk to your Lap Band surgeon. HP: YAY!!! for you and your hills!!! Great job! ~C

Thank you Don. I can tell the last few days that I don't have restriction. I've noticed that I can eat more than I should. I stop myself, I measure. Right now I'm running on will power alone! I think if I had something that would "stick" or rest above the band I'd feel better. It doesn't help either that it's an all-consuming lifestyle at this time. My dietician has me either eating or drinking all day. I feel like it's unrealistic, but I'm trying so hard to follow all the rules. Get enough Protein and get enough Water. Take the pills, take the Vitamins. I seriously never thought this much about food, ever! (pre-band). I'm logging all my food, exercise, water and weight each day too! Maybe I'm trying to hard. Maybe all this 'awareness' is what's making it so hard! LOL ~C

J: Are you only riding Saturday? (Not Sunday also?)

Okay, I'm still hungry. WHY????? Why isn't this working for me like it is the rest of you? It's just not fair. I won't cheat because, well I just won't. But I am just hungry a lot. I know I'm losing weight, that really isn't the point (of this story). I am struggling to keep my calories low. My dietician said to keep it between 600-800 kcals/day. It's a struggle. And I'm bored with the same food, so now I'm looking for things that are still mushie, but with flavor. I've actually moved on to pudding yesterday. I didn't want to do it, but I just had to. Now I want more. It's so yummy (sugar free fat free white chocolate). But it's 70 cals of nothing. No nutritional value (except the milk it's made with). Seriously, am I all alone? ~C

I'm addicted to that show!! I love it! I am just amazed at how hard that job is, the weather and the lack of sleep. Ugh. I really admire those guys. I think I'd be scared just to be on the boat. Some of the wives go along and cook the meals and stuff. I don't know if I could sleep...I'd be so worried that it would roll over or sink! ~C
-
Hi J!! Glad you're back! You and BG have been scarce around here this weekend! Congratulations on the 67 miler. Woot! You rock! Pedals working better? Are you getting excited about TOSRV? ~C P.S. I'm still hungry.

B I'm so glad your mom can be there with you. It's important to have family. You let us know if there's anything you need. Take care and get plenty of rest. We'll be praying for you! ~C

Oh Tracy! You look beautiful! You are such an inspiration and I love the way you broke that down. I feel like that is something I'll be able to relate to on my journey. Thank you for sharing! ~C
-
Oh B!!! What an awful experience! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. You need to stay put and let those very smart doctors take good care of you! Is your family with you? If you need any help, have questions about your labs, tests or whatever I'm here for you! Get some rest, take care of yourself and tell them not to feed you that crap! God Bless, ~Carol

Not sure about oysters... But posting just to post on the other hand...now THAT'S the ticket! (everyone remember saying that? LOL) ~C

So where did the OP go? There hasn't been a response from her for many posts. ahale005: There has been lots of sound advice given here with many valid questions. I hope some of this makes sense to you and that you'll be able to get some relief. Good luck to you. ~C

Oh yummy! I love fish AND shrimp!! And lobster, and crab, and scallops...

Can I join too? I'm a few weeks out from banding. I'm doing pretty good, but am starting to get bored with my diet. I don't mind the soft stuff, just the lack of anything really flavorful. I am still so excited though! YAY! BBK: That is awesome that you'll be paid for taking pictures! How cool is that?! How did you get hooked up like that? ~C
