    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

LOL You guys are too funny! I've got a bubble-butt too. I have always had curves. I know I'll need some work done after this is all over, but I'm ready! I want it all...anything that will make ME look and feel better about my self and in my own skin! BG and J- You two are so close to PS...how exciting! TX- You are so cute! ~C

Sorry you didn't get your surgery! I hope everything goes well for the next time! I can't imagine how disappointed you must be. Hang in there and be sure to follow all the rules so you can get it done in 6 weeks. ~C

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Yeah, the t-shirt is the most important part!! LOL I love getting the shirt! It's proof, ya know? My DH is thinking about coming too. I didn't think he'd want to, but he might. I'll for sure do the 34. I'm gonna get busy on working toward the 62! Sheesh. So little time, such big aspirations. ~C

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I have a Durango, and I bought Rocky Mounts. They are an awesome company out of Boulder, Colorado. They are very reasonable in price. The only downside is that it sits on top of the vehicle. It's fine for my husband, but I'm a little short for it. I have to open the door and step in to maneuver, but it's nice. The other option is one that connects to your hitch (if you have that package on your SUV). I don't have one, but my husband has one for his truck. That kind hangs off the back end and is super easy to get your bike on and off! Hope that helps, ~C

I don't want to ride alone either! I am going to work toward the 62 then. If that's what you all are doing, then so will I! I average 14-16mph usually, but that was last year. Hopefully I am there soon and I won't have to worry about keeping up! Um, J...how are you gonna drive it all in one day? It's like several hours away right? I was thinking I'd head up Friday night and then just be there for the am register. BG- are you staying in Lansing, or at home? Do you have any suggestions for a hotel/motel nearby the ride? J- with all the training you've done, I'm sure your speed will pick up now that you feel more confident with your pedals! Hey, is this ride hilly or flat? You know I live in the land of no-hills, so if there are hills, I'll likely die. Just so you are all prepared. ~C
  9. You know, I'm the same way about the 'full feeling' coming late. I was talking about it the other day to a friend. I eat what I think is the right amount, but sometimes I eat a little more and I don't notice anything until much later. At least 10 minutes or more. It's like my brain just doesn't get it! Even though it takes so long to eat, all the chewing (still on mushies, but chewing anyway) you'd think my brain would have time to catch up! LOL Weird. ~C

BG I'm so glad you're feeling better! I don't know yet which ride I'll be able to do. I usually bounce back pretty good each spring, but this last summer was pretty rough with having chemo. I didn't ride near as much as I usually do and of course this winter was spent still feeling sorry for myself. But now I feel better and I'm starting to lose weight thanks to my shiney new Lap Band! YAY for Lap Band! I think I'll bring my DD, she'll love it and she loves t-shirts! Have you all registered yet?

I DO need to get a ticker for cycling, don't I?! Yeah, I can do 25. How many is everyone planning to do? How fast y'all goin' these days? Now that you, HP and BG are all in Onderland you're gonna leave this fatty in the dust! No fair! Gee, I hope I can keep up! LOL I'm really behind the 8-ball. I haven't been out for so long (the neighborhood doesn't count!). I need to do a test ride and see how I'm doing. And hey, I've still got 4 weeks! ~C

Any one from Ohio out there??

Hi Chris, We are neighbors. Not too many of us around here. Seems there are mostly C-bus people, but I love them. They are wonderful and welcoming. PM me if you want to chat! ~C

    Ouch! Hurt feelings!

Oh sweetie! I'm so sorry about all that! I feel so bad that you got those kind of responses. First of all, your mother-in-law was just being hurtful She knew that what she was saying was a 'dig' at you and there was nothing productive about it. She's probably just jealous. You know how there are people out there that need to tear someone down in order to make themselves feel better? Maybe she is one of them. The bank lady...well, sadly it can be an honest mistake. Maybe now that you've lost so much, you may be carrying the remainder of your weight in your belly. I'm sure she meant no harm and since she hasn't seen you in a long while she may have mistaken your smile and happiness for one of an expectant mother! Your feelings are valid. One thing...you said you texted and called your friends and family members. What did THEY have to say? I'm guessing your MIL was the only negative feedback you got from them. Try to focus on the positive remarks you got, she's not worth your tears! Oh, and step away from the donuts! ~C
  14. LOL...9 whole hours???? How ever did you do it? I knew I couldn't commit to it. I would never have lasted that long!!!! I'm glad you broke through. Good for you! {{{hugs}}} ~C
  15. WOW! You've lost a lot of weight! Good job! Hang in there...we are all in this same boat! I agree though, if you had willpower you wouldn't need a lap band! Gimme a break! I hate it when I read that the doctors tell patients that. I'm sorry you don't get your fill for a while. Are you exercising? Is there anything you can do to take your mind off of food? ~C

I hate it when people post just to post.....

My heart pours out to you and any other person with a loved one fighting for us. We should all hope and pray for their safe return! God Bless America and our soldiers! ~C

    I'm not losing weight

We gotta hang in there! We should feel better after our fills. Maybe not the first one, but we might! I seem to stall on the weight loss for about 5 days, but then drop a few. Nothing drastic. But as someone already posted...this is not the time to be losing. This time is for healing. Any weight loss we get out of the first 6 weeks is a bonus! Don't get discouraged! I am using Sparkpeople.com to track my food and weight. I don't do it every day, but I try to do it as much as possible. It sucks to have to count cals, but I think in the beginning it's good for us to have an idea of what is really going in!! LOL ~C

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hey my bicycling buddies! J- First fill=May 16th. YES!! I can tell that I am able to eat more than 4 oz! (duh) I am still hungry, but am getting through it. The diet pill Rx was a bust. Took one pill and didn't sleep for over 48 hours. Never took another. Better to be hungry than tired like that. TX- Way to go on your ride! I know what you mean about the long rides. It's work to train for them and can feel like work to do them. Riding and providing SAG is fun too. I like that you'll ride again next year for your girl. You are so sweet! Sorry about your tailbone. Get lots of rest and stay off of it if you can. Glad you have an appointment. Thepedals are great for light riding...seems like so many are in the market for new pedals. BG- Hope you're in bed or laying on the couch sipping fluids. If not, you should be! B- I'm glad you're doing better. Bummer you sold your pedals with your other bike. I totally heart my SPD's and the platform pedals are a great option. ZZ- Hi! You do look wonderful! How's the bike riding going? I'm pretty excited that I got out for a short ride yesterday. I am hoping to go out tomorrow too. I've got to get busy if I'm going to Lansing, huh? ~C
  19. Oh my goodness...that is good news! I can't wait to feel like that! Thanks for checking on me!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hi Wendy, welcome! BG: Geez, I feel bad for ya. I know it hurts, but the very best thing you can do is fluids! Dry throat=more pain. Do your best sweetie! I hope you feel better! J: I am SO glad you like the new pedals. They ARE easier. The platform is great for rides like today with your DD, huh? YAY!!! Are you sick too? Why might TOSRV have to wait? HP: Good job on the ride! That's awesome your daughter is getting into it too! I rode a tiny bit today. Just in the neighborhood, nothing fancy. I did just fine and really felt that I could have gone much longer. I didn't want to push it, so I hung it up early. I got a little peace of mind out of it though. I know now that I can push a little further next time. ~C
  22. LOL...Poopy's real name is Trooper. We found him in a garage, very young (few weeks), all alone, dirty and thought he was a real trooper! Well, as we call him to come to us, Trooper didn't seem to fit him, it became Troopy, and somehow one day Poopy came out and it stuck! He comes to it and it's more endearing (kinda like Poopsie) than it sounds. Everyone laughs and asks. We get so used to it, that we forget how it sounds to everyone else when we talk about him in casual conversation! LOL ~C
  23. OMG! My white one (Baxter) squeaks too! He is so funny! Everytime you touch him, even if you only touch his whisker, he squeaks! He is really playful and mostly quiet unless you touch him! LOL Poopy (cat) is really fat. He has a little bitty head and a huge butt. He is a pear. He eats dog food! Talked to the vet about this and they said they've never heard of that! He loves the stuff. One kibble takes him a little while, but he won't touch the kitty food! Aren't pets funny?
