What is a good Post Op shake?
Christal replied to MsHansy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like any of the EAS premixed ones. I couldn't handle any of the powder ones. I buy cases of the chocolate fudge ones from sams club. I still have one every morning! -
you could always make the apointments for the same day he he I see we had our surgery 5 days apart. I just missed you in TJ!

Hi there, I also live in the west valley! My primary care doctor is in Mesa though. I have been going to her for years and she is worth the drive! Dr. Sandra Levitt at Innovative Primary Care. Probably will take more than 20 minutes from Surprise though.

Just moved, need a Dr. in MS, AL or FL who will adjust band.

First Fill Without a Florscope?
Christal replied to bubbles098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never had a fill under floro. Can you feel your port? If you can feel it it will be ok. -
Welcome! I live in the west valley. My friends mom had surgery with Debarros. My insurance wouldn't cover it so I had to go to Mexico. Hopefully your insurance will cover it! Good luck!

Yes, don't drink anything! It makes it way worse and faster. I have had quite a few also. And like said before. One day you can eat something and the next day no go! It isn't as bad as throw up. You don't taste it or anything and it comes without effort.

I lost 37 before surgery, so technically only 34 since surgery. It was REALLY slow after surgery, after I got the proper fill level and started eating low carb high protien it came off a lot faster!

I have a 10cc band, it took me a while to get restriction too. I had my 4th fill and a little over 6 cc and finally feel it. You will get there. You don't want to put too much in too fast either. Just take your time and get used to each phase. I know it sucks not losing weight right away!

I am sure many of us have this; band being tighter in the morning. I have to really sip my liquids in the morning now. My bf asked me why that is and I didn't have a logical answer... so why are some of our bands tighter in the morning??

Hi, there! I am sorry to hear about your loss! I think it is normal not to feel hungry. If I am stressed I eat, but I noticed when it is past stress, greiving or something like that I do not feel like eating. Just make sure you get protein, drink some shakes and take your vitamins! Take care! :tt2:

A friend of mine said that to me when I told her that I had made an appointment for my surgery. "You are doing so well, you don't need to have surgery", oh and then on top of that I went to Mexico so people that don't know much about it were freaking out. I quit talking about it and quit telling people about it. I did it for me, yes I had lost weight before surgery. I decided that I did not want to gain the weight back this time like I have every time my entire life. I just went and did it!

So my last fill was a couple of weeks ago and it has been great. I feel like I finally have some restriction. I have had a couple of PBs since then, nothing too bad but today everything I eat has come up. Whats the deal? I am going back on liquids for the day and I will try again tomorrow, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I used Dr. Lopez Corvala in Tijuana, and went through beliteweight. I had my after care set up before I had it done. I had decided I wouldn't go unless I had it set up. I had heard that aftercare wasn't the best with out of states doctors. I have received support from beliteweight, they have a forum and they send emails checking on me. The nutrionist emailed me from the hospital too. Overall I am happy. I got the tool I needed and my aftercare is in good hands too.

Is there anything that can be done to avoid gall bladder problems... other than not losing weight?? :confused2:
-
Wendy is great, she has the lap band herself. She does my fills at the Mesa office. She always gets right in without any problems!
-
I have done it several times, mostly since my last fill. I don't think I am over filled because I don't have a problem most of the time. I just need to learn to slow down and stop when I feel it is time. I am still learning.

Confused & a Little Scared
Christal replied to dg2tex69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 30, highest weight was 337, I lost about 30# on my own and decided that I never wanted to gain that same 30# back again like I have been doing all my life. I have always been overweight. So I too took money out of my home equity and went and had it done. I have lost another 30# and am pretty happy so far. -
Hey I had to use one of those family restrooms at the mall while Christmas shopping a couple months ago. I was shopping with my 10 year old and we stopped to get something to eat and I had to PB so I walked as fast as I could to the restrooms and of course the womans line had a long line out the door... I couldn't wait any longer! I ran for the family restroom. The looks when I came out! Owell, people will get over it!

what kind of bands used in mexico
Christal replied to lisa 717's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the inamed in mexico. they also offered the johnson and johnson. -
I was a member of Curves before surgery. I love it, I go on my lunch hours at work. They say it is equivelant to 1 1/2 hours in a gym. It depends on how you work the machines. If you keep your heart rate up I think it works!

Thinking about Dr. Lopez-Corvala in TJ Mexico?
Christal replied to want2beme's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
So erosion is the doctors fault? And funny that you just joined and this has been your only post? JoAnne has always called me back. Their nutritionist even emailed me last week to see how I was doing. -
Those of you who are self-payers...
Christal replied to CajunDisney's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine was $8000, plus airline tickets to San Diego. I had it done in Mexico and fills are included for the first year if you can get back there often. I am pleased with everything. I stayed in a real hospital for 2 days and had great care. I have my fills done through fillcentersusa and they cost $155. -
I took money out of my home equity and had it done in Mexico. So glad I did it!
