I'm so glad I had the lap band surgery in Mexico and have lost 120 lbs forever! Today I read a story in the newspaper and saw it on TV that the American Medical Association's Journal published a story that 73% of those with Type 2 diabetes were cured (no more medication) after having the band surgery! I was surprised that just 13% of those that tried diet and exercise were cured from Type 2 diabetes. I was on the verge of being diabetic have suffered through gestational diabetes. This lap band is the best thing I ever did for my health... and my husband says I look great! I feel so much better. The doctors at the Obesity Goodbye group were a lifesaver for me.:hurray:

I couldn't afford to have the surgery here and my insurance wouldn't cover it. I prayed to find and way and God answered my prayers through a group of doctors in Mexico. I've lost 120 lbs -- never to gain it back and couldn't be happier. Now, I've taken it on as a ministry... helping my friends and family find ways to get banded if they need to.

So what was the verdict, Kim? I'm in Louisiana, but I went to Mexico to have the surgery done at about 1/2 the cost of here... just couldn't afford it. I know a couple of nurses who made the trip, too... great docs.

Kellie, I lost 120 lbs with the doctors from the Obesity Goodbye clinic in Tijuana, Mexico after having the lap band. I couldn't be happier. Have you read the article from the American Medical Assoc. about curing diabetes with the band surgery?

I am very happy with the doctors at Obesity Goodbye... they have done thousands of bands... one of them mine. I've lost 120 lbs never to gain it back.

Hey Melinda, Did you see the American Medical Association article about diabetes and the lap band. They said the only cure (no more medication) for Type 2 diabetes in the banding -- about 73% of their study were cured!
