Let me know what you find out about that pole dance class... I have been wanting to do that also (after I lose another 50 or so pounds)
-
I agree, don't do it... Isn't that why you got the band? To not eat as much and to lose weight? I wonder if your Dr. would even let you do that? Mine won't

Neat idea to hide the scale... Ours was out in the open where I could step on it everyday... Now, I have it in a corner and I am only weighing once a week... on Wednesdays, the day I had my surgery. Weight fluctuates so much in a week for some people... You are not crazy... just completely normal..

dylansmom was nice enough to make my picture the right size, but now what? I went to User CP Edit Avatar but now I am lost???? THANKS!!!

Very neat idea!! It is nice to actually see where everyone is from.

My surgery is set for tomorrow but.........
HeatherGurl replied to shellys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know you probably want to have your surgery ASAP, but I would call the Dr.'s office and see what they want you to do. You don't want to be sick while recovering from surgery -
I have seen a lot of people on LBT get to their goal weight or withing 5lbs.

Get rid of them! They are evil! Kidding... I can't have the stuff around at all or I will go nuts. If I am munching on something at my desk and I am not hungry... I throw it away, because I certainly won't dig it out of the trash. -
Anyone at less than 800 calories?
HeatherGurl replied to vinesqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Crystal, I am averaging 700 calories a day... just calculated them. I am not a calorie counter... I am a carb counter. I have stayed away from sugar and caffeine and I have been taking a chewable Vitamin, and Vitamin C and I have never felt better in my life! How long have you been doing the 700 cal? You seemed very informed about everything I have seen you post, but for me... when I have a lot of carbs or sugar or caffeine I drag butt all day. Hope this helps. Congrats on that weight loss!!! Just hope you get some energy back. -
How long should we keep our bands in us?

I am curious who your Dr. is and where he is from and how long he has been performing lapband surgeries... Permanent is what my doc said also. -
My Husband finally noticed
HeatherGurl replied to It's me-Debbydo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is wonderful. Great JOB!!! -
We have talked about this before... and I thought I was eating plenty of them since I have been eating what I want right now. Well, my lunch is a Campbell's Soup at Hand... only 130 calories! My Breakfast is a Protein shake with about the same... I seriously doubt that whatever I eat for supper will equal up to 800-900 calories? I am not a big calorie counter (brainwashed by the great Dr. Atkins) so what can I do to ADD some healthy calories? THANKS!
-
Thanks... I will do that.

Wow! way to go Joe! Keep up the Great work!

I would try my darndest to maintain my weight, but if I ballooned up to my highest of 365 again I would have the Gastric Bypass, just because I do not want to be miserable anymore!

Welcome! I was banded in Houston also. It looks like we are around the same weight, you being lighter... I was banded on the 9th of November and I have lost 20 lbs. I love this band. My family doesn't understand either. My hubby does tho and that is all that matters to me. If you want to email me or PM me sometimes, go ahead! Congrats on your NEW LIFE!!!

Sometimes I think SISTERs are over-rated!
HeatherGurl replied to Penni60's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am glad that you called and talked to her... My mom and 8 of my aunts and uncles are manic depressive/bipolar. I know it is hell having someone live with you like that... but if she is like anyone in my family, they don't even know what they are doing because they aren't in their right mind. You just keep on loving her!!! -
My doctor is a crackhead? Please confirm...
HeatherGurl replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not to cause waves but here is my thinking... My Dr. told me to consume at least 800 a day. Actually stay between 800-900 a day. Also he said to walk at least 30 minutes a day. No sugar and junk food. He told me that if I want to lose 100% of my excess weight that this is what I should do. He also said that if you don't do the above you will lose 50% of excess weight which I am sure you all know. In my opinion, my band is there for when I slip up and can't do the above... It is PHYSICALLY impossible for me to sit down and eat a bag of cookies now... I think that is why I decided to do this, knowing that I have to eat right for the rest of my life, but also knowing that if I slip there is now a catch... I have seen a lot of people post here that if they wanted to diet they could have done that without the band, but obviously we couldn't that is why we are fat. I think it is a great tool, but we do have to do everything we can if we expect to lose ALL of our extra weight. Just my opinion... -
Way to go! You won't be "Big" Paul for much longer!!! That is a great weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Happy Birthday!!! I have been meaning to tell you this... you look SO much younger in your picture now!!! (Referring to the Before and After photos) You are one of my biggest "heroes" on LBT because I am your heighth and about the same weight starting... If I can look like you do now I will be in Heaven!!! Hope you have a GREAT Birthday!!!

This is NOT a true story about my family. I got it from someone else. But, have a good laugh with this one, anyway: One year at Thanksgiving my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store and sent her to get it. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!
