Dr. Felix Spiegel Anyone Used Him?
HeatherGurl replied to Skinnyagain?'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Have you thought about or heard of Dr. Spivak? I am kind of partial to him, but I just have heard some things about Spiegel that I,myself, do not like. www.bandmd.com is Dr. Spivak's site. He is JUST AWESOME! -
Was anyone unsure about their fills?
HeatherGurl replied to Kathy473's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Kathy! I was told by Dr. Spivak's office that if you go 4 weeks without losing to come in for a fill. They are doing all of the fills now at the SurgeryCenter under the fluorscopy... Actually, the Dr. that works with Spivak did my fill (can't remember her name)(she is also banded) I really liked her. They say she is almost better than Spivak at doing the fills. Maybe you could call the office and see what they think. They are usually very helpful as I am sure you know! -
Call your Dr's office and ask them. I called and my Doc said that if they haven't come off after 10 days to gently take them off in the shower if they look ready.

Lap Band in conjunction with Gall Bladder removal
HeatherGurl replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wallace~ Welcome to LapBandTalk. I think you should check out Dr. Hadar Spivak. He is located near the medical center. His website is www.bandmd.com I did not have to have my gall bladder removed, but the lady that had surgery right before me did. He is an EXCELLENT Dr. and I know that he does both procedures at the same time. Also he will repair hernias, if you have one. I have NEVER heard of Dr. Wongsa??? Give Dr. Spivak's office and call and try attending one of his seminar's. You can ask him all the questions that you need. Good Luck and keep us informed on what you decide! -
I was trying to think of something weird in my fridge, and couldn't until I read anca1225's post... I have the phenergan suppositories from when my baby was born!

I can not do eggs for some reason. I can eat chicken like crazy, but not the eggs -
I can not wait!!! My Ex is getting married in October and I am invited to the wedding. Can not wait to blow everyone's socks off in a sexy little black dress!!! We are doing great!

I was banded on the 9th. lost 38 lbs! I also LOVE my band. Congrats on the weight loss.
-
Sorry that I haven't replied Kare!!! I have been working out a lot to your CD and it is AWESOME!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!
-
I think that you guys should have it done on the same day. That way you can go through all of the stages together. Congrats!!!

My hubby and I watched her on 20/20 the other night. We both think that she had the band. It seemed to me that she lost the weight more slowly than a bypass patient would have. The lady interviewing her was being a b!tch though. I don't really care for Star, but I think she looks great now and if she had surgery that is her own business... BUT like someone else said... she tries to get all this publicity for everything and wants to pick and choose certain secrets??? I think being in the public eye is just something the rich and famous must deal with.

WAY to go doll!!!

I decided to FINALLY start working on the tummy and last night tried to do some stomache crunches... It was somewhat painful... like sore from surgery still? Has anyone else had a problem with stomache exercises? (I am almost 2 months banded) THANKS!!!
-
tatsmom~ When I was on the mushie stage I LOVED canned chili (like Hormel) with cheese and sour cream. Also refried Beans the same way. I know it is hard, but try not to be snacking all night and then you won't have to worry about it. Try some sugar free hot cocoa or a glass of iced tea. That is what I always have in my hand while family is stuffing their face ICED TEA! Good Luck and let us know how you do!

Another girl here at work said that our company's insurance pays for tummy tuck and boob job, whatever you need to get back to normal... That sounds great and all, but I am scared to have that all done. Isn't it really painful??? BUT, when I am weighing in at 180 and have a lot of skin or boobs hanging to knees, I might change my mind!
-
I saw that you got banded by Spiegel... Dr. Spivak did mine and we are supposed to wait 1/2 hour. I always wait and have not had any problems.
-
I would not say it is painless Everyone is different, but it was Very uncomfortable. (The needle going into your skin) The Dr. actually putting saline in is not painful, you can't feel that.
-
I always show the DH what I will have on before we go out... Drives him nuts! Especially if I show him right before church... cracks me up!

What do you do to satisfy your "head hunger"?
HeatherGurl replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Booty like NJChick said (and no, not kidding) but when I can do that, I drink water. -
MY DH would die if I covered up that much!!! They look comfy tho!!!
-
I thought I was going to have the same problem, but I don't. My jeans are so tight when I first buy them that I can not breathe while sitting Hubby likes them that way Me too. Where is your port?
-
I didn't get any numbing... but it wasn't bad at all. Just uncomfortable. My port is easy to find and nice and flat they told me, so it wasn't bad at all! Good Luck!
