The only pre op testing he requires is an Upper GI and bloodwork. I am pretty sure your insurance will pay for that, because I talked to another lady that was self pay and ins. would pay for the tests but not WLS. Just check with your HR person at work. Or, call your insurance company and tell them you need and upper GI and what will they cover? I had to pay my copay and that is it.

AngieO Dr. Spivak did my banding and I followed his directions and had no problems. Your body will let you know if you are ready for mushies after the initial 48 hours. I did fine following Dr. Spivak's instructions. I lived off of sugar free pudding, Applesauce and Sugar Free Fudge Pops! There are a few of us on here that used Dr. Spivak so I am sure you will be fine.

Are you doing low cal or low carb dieting or are you just watching what you eat?

I haven't written here in a while, so I figured that it was about time. I have been sticking with Atkins, no more than 20 carbs a day. I have been walking for 2 weeks now I believe and I just love it. If I don't go, I feel like I am missing something. I am noticing that my butt is tightening up and the scale certainly isn't moving up. I have a fill scheduled for the 23rd and I am curious to see how I will be after that. I have had Pink Eye since Monday morning and I haven't been wearing makeup so as to not infect my makeup, and it sucks!!! I feel so nakid! Hopefully that will be cleared up soon. Today's weigh in: 288.2

That is great Pianoman! I have been doubting some things here lately and debating on whether or not to get a fill. The only reason I think I am losing now is because of a very strict diet and exercise. Keep up the great work.

DH usually doesn't do it out in public unless he has had a few beers. It cracks me up when he does though, because he gets so mad if I grab him in public.

Whenever it is cold, my hubby tries to play it off and say, hey, come here... And he HAS to touch them all the time when they are nipping! (like I mind)

I have been trying to tell DH that it will get bigger if he loses some weight... I will have to show him what the guys said. (not that I can really stand for it to be any bigger)

I have a butterfly on my right shoulder blade. I forget it is there sometimes! I don't think it will ever sag... that is why I got it there. When I get to goal I want to get a tat on my lower back.

I am walking 2-3 miles anywhere from 3-5 times a week. I also get on my cardio glide and do some floor exercises. I am getting some video called Beach Bodies, Slim in 6 I believe that I will be starting next week. Oh, I also take the stairs from Ground to 6th floor of office building. YIKES for a FAT GIRL!!!

Michelle~ I just have to tell you that you are so beautiful and I am really inspired to how well you are doing without that band. You CAN do it! Keep up the awesome work.
