Good Luck with what you decide Barbara, and keep us posted!!

I have noticed that due to the insurance ordeal... a lot of you are considering Spiegel over Spivak... I know a you are all anxious to have surgery... but why did you choose Spivak in the first place? You are going to throw that all aside to have surgery faster with someone else? I am sure there are a lot of people that are pleased with Spiegel, but my friend is going thru a huge ordeal with him right now. Just do your research, and talk to others that have used Spivak and Spiegel. Surgery is nothing to rush into as I am sure you all know. I really hope that for all of you, the Lap Band is a success and the Dr. you choose is the right one for you. Honestly good luck and best wishes to all of you!!!

Would paying for someone else's band be offensive?

Hijack~ That is awesome shackdog! -
For those of you seriously concerned about it... really, it is all how YOU feel. I had to hold my hand over my port area for the first few weeks, just because I was scared. Not too sure that a guy will have too much of a problem... I hate to say it, but you might just have to try and see what happens. If something feels uncomfortable, then stop.

I can't believe no one has answered you seminole!!! I will answer your questions about the ladies... Sex is definitely better, and I didn't think it could be. I have lost 58 pounds since banding, and we can both tell!!! I wouldn't say I am more sexual since I have always been very sexual... but positions are a lot easier and more varied now. Hope a guy will answer your other questions!!! Good Luck!

Young adults getting banded or already banded
HeatherGurl replied to Bebabear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am 24 and banded... not too far away from you. If I could have had the band at 17, I would not have gotten into the shape I was. I think it is a great tool, and I wish you the best of luck. -
Welcome willybe!!!

Finally got to walk again! Yes, it felt good. My husband has been getting home too late for me to go to the track, so I haven't been going. Walked 2 miles last night and the weather was perfect here in Texas for it! My size 18 (yes 18 jeans) are SO comfy. Thought I wouldn't be able to breathe in them, but I like them. I want to go out and buy tons of clothes, but then I will be down in a 16 and what good will a bunch of 18's do? Keep up the great work people!

Best of luck to you John!

I was more afraid of dying of being morbidly obese than of having a surgery that is completely reversible. You have to be willing to do your part though... it isn't a miracle cure!

Thank God it isn't erosion!!! I hope that you will be able to keep your band. My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!
