  2. Happy 36th Birthday daggyll!

  3. Hi everyone!! I finally think i have a good fill. I got my second fill on Thursday and immediately noticed the difference. I think the best way to describe it is a shock collar for the chronic little piggy that lives in my brain. Once I've had enough I get a slight tinge (kind of the beginning of heartburn) if I have just even one more bite BAM lots of pain. This is a good thing no doubt. I just have a couple of questions for you more experienced bandsters... 1- I have only been able to get down a couple of bites of non-mushy food, is this how its is now or is this just because its a new fill. 2- Whats a typical day like for you with good restriction, what do you eat? Drink? Exercise? I know there are similar threads, but I don't think with a combination of all things.. Thanks so much for your insight. I am very encouraged at your stories and of finally being able to see the scale go in the right direction....

I think I hate my DR!!

Thank you all, I'm glad to know you don't think im overreacting. I am in Miami/South Florida area. I think i am going to start looking around to see if I find someone else in the area. Thanks!
  5. I don't know if anyone else feels like this. He is completely unresponsive and doesn't seem to get the fill adjustment thing. I am self-pay so I am wondering if I should just go elsewhere for my fills. I got banded on 1/24, and have only lost 12 pounds so far. I had to beg for my first fill and now have absolutely NO restriction. So, I called to schedule another fill. At the time I paid for my surgery they told me that all care for the 3 months post surgery were included. However, when I tried to schedule my second fill, the doctor sent back the message that since he did not recommend that I do another fill so soon then I have to pay out of pocket @ the lofty rate of $350 per fill. What gives!! Anyone have such bad after care from their surgeon. I wouldn't normally go against a doctor's recommendation, but I have zero restriction and if will power was not an issue, I wouldnt have needed a band in the first place..... Sorry, needed to vent!
  6. hi all.... I got banded on 1/24 and first fill this monday 2/25. I got 4ccs in a 10cc band. Although I do feel some restriction, i feel i am eating too much. This is what i've eaten today so far... breakfast- half omelet and half a crossaint lunch- small cobb salad and bannana This just seems like a lot for the band...Or am I wrong? I would love some input. Thanks 240/230/140
  7. You are soooo right, I never did just "loose interest" in food before until it was all gone.... I did feel much better about being able to not even look at the bread or the starchy sides and it was a fancy place, so there was almost no breading in the crab cake. However, the cesar salad dressing and the creme brulee bites were loaded with calories I'm sure. I have to see how I feel tonight. Thanks for the advice.
  8. Hi All! I got my first fill on Monday, 4cc's on a 10cc band. To tell you the truth, while I feel, some restriction, it is nothing major. For example, I had to go to a business lunch and I was able to eat one crab cake and a couple of bites of the second, and about 1/3 of a cup of ceasar salad and a couple of bites of creme brulee. While I ate much less than I would have normally, I didn't feel any restriction and I stopped eating just because I mainly lost interest. What gives??:confused2:
  9. Hi all! I was banded 1/24 and I have my first fill tomorrow. I have several questions: 1- How much of a fill should i ask for (assuming i have a choice)? I have had almost no restriction since the swelling went down, and have only lost 7 pounds since the surgery, so i would like to be as aggressive as possible. 2- Is it going to hurt? 3- Should i eat before? If so, any particular kind, soft, mushie, Protein?? I would also appreciate any suggestions or advice on this subject, as I might have not known the right questions to ask. Thanks!
  10. Hello everyone! I wanted to introduce myself, I'm pretty new to the board. I got banded on 1/24/08. So I just entered the mushie stage yesterday. My question is have any of you cheated, by having a piece of this or a bite of that? I have not done it, but I have considered it. I am getting very tired of these foods, and if I have to have another Protein drink im going to puke! Thanks for the wealth of information here. Any advice or suggestions for a newbie are appreciated. Thanks! surgery/current/goal 240/231/140
