peabody replied to SuzanneG's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
anyone doing any walking for excercise, i was banded 2-6-8, obstructed 2-7-8 and revised 2-8-8...now i have hunger pangs....so i've just been drowning them with fluids.....i'm still weak from the 2 surgeries, but can't wait to get back to my walking on lunch hour --it helped so much... Remember all the little victories that have no connection with numbers on the scale amanda -
is anyone so tight they can't drink in the morning?
peabody replied to Yvonne's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
sweetie if you can't keep down any liquids then you may be obstructed and in trouble....get on the phone with your docs office and do what you need to do to be heard amanda obstructed postop had successful revision -

hey there, don't freak out it's still so worth it....i fill full, and on so little food....i am starting to transition gently into mushies....cottage cheese ideas anyone....to say it is like erasers in cream sauce is to give dignity to cottage chese that i'm not sure it deserves (lol) my sincere thanks for your support during this time....we're all going to make it....and if with my disaster story i can say that then girl we're GOLDEN.....ps i do soooooo love my surgeon, he was on top of things and soooo concerned...i feel really good about the care i got (no victims here) and it was just a freaky anatomic variant of a vascular bundle that tripped us up...really rare, but hey i always knew i WAS SO SPECIAL, and now it's medically documented (hee hee LOL!) amanda

hey doriana, of course you have terrible pain and loss to deal with. effexor xr is a good med for the right person, if weight loss doesn't start back up, and your being compliant with diet excercise etc, then ask for a med change. my wish for you is that the legacy of your departed friend is to help you get back into taking care of yourself emotionally and physically and spiritually . i wish you peace and serenity amanda -

peabody replied to GraceofGod's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for what it's worth my dr has us advance to mushies post op day 3...he has a very low rate of slippage or complications.....take that for what it's worth say a little prayer for me surgery is in 2 days amanda -
hey amy, i'm a victorious valentine as well...surgery date feb 6....i've taken an opposite approach. i'm tellin lots of people about my surgery to help with accountability....but there were some that i think may be naysayers...they didn't get told a thing....what ever works for ya boundaries are so improtant to set and maintain....Great book called The Dance of Anger talks about that...in all relationships. i've done some really good therapy in my journey, and have benefitted immensely from it. so for sure get you some therapy honey.....i may need a refresher course on the old therapy stuff especially when i get into my smaller body, because it's been awhile, and i don't want to sabotage my lifestyle choices by being fearful of bein smaller (sexier to wolfwhistlers etc) when i was younger and in my smaller body wolfwhistles would make me feel angry or uncomfortable. i'm gonna be watching for any sabotaging out of that fear we've all got our stuff and we've all got each other. Amanda ps where and how do i get one of those cool victorius valentines signs

hey there, one thing that has helped me stay on my pre op is that my surgeon explained about "fatty liver" the over abundant fat stores in the liver that leave it distended and very delicate and more likely to be injured during the surgery. alot of the preop diet is to help shrink and firm up that old liver to keep it from getting in the way or traumatized during surgery. hang in there (victorious valentine feb bandsters) peabody a Victorious Valentine due for surgery2-6-8

hey fellow double v's i'm peabody, my banding date is feb 6th dr charles morton in nashville, tn...at times i want to chew off my left arm on this preop diet...but only 9 days more to go. yesterday i was the queen b____ of PMS and wanted to eat any and everything...after much suffering i got on the website...and felt so much better. even today has been better. this am was stuck in horrible traffic, and instead of getting frustrated i turned up so latin salsa music and got some dancing done while seated in my car LOL...when i finally got to work i was still humming the songs. Better to light a candle than curse the darkness....BABY i want to light up some FLASHLIGHTS!!!! Peabody - Victorious Valentine

Post-op: So depressed... so lost
peabody replied to adorkbl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey there, antidepressants have come a long way, many bandsters do well with cymbalta it can be opened and the grainules inside swallowed, but it has to go down with an acidic liquid oj or v-8 works---hang in there, consider some talk therapy....
