Can you drink beer with the lap-band????

I am very much interested in the lap band. I have an appointment this week with Dr. I have 50 to 60 pounds to loose and have tried all my life to loose it but gain it all back everytime. I'm sick and tired of doing this to myself. I'm 51 years old and have high blood pressure plus both parents have severe heart problems and diabetes. So genetics aren't in my favor! I'm nervous about people telling me that I don't need the lap band, but I know I do! I want to end this yo yo thing for good! Anyone out there who had 50 to 60 pounds to loose and got banded??? I would love to hear from you! thanks.

Anyone out there who has a BMI of 33 and 60 pounds to loose that has gotten banded??? I also have high blood pressure and my family genetics is very severe with heart problems and diabetes. Please respond. I'm very interested in the lap band and putting an end to a life time of yo yo dieting.

Hi Cindy, I was so excited to read your story today. I just went on last night as queen yo, yo because that has been my life's story. I have a bmi of 31 with 50 to 60 Pounds to loose. I take hbp pills and my parents both had severe heart problems and diabetes. Genetics not in my favor! I'm seeing dr. on thurs. and along with being nervous and excited about this process, I'm also very nervous about the rolled eyes and people not supportive of my decision.
