  1. I'm at a low point. I was banded seven weeks ago (1.4.10), had one fill of 4 cc's in my 10 cc band, lost 19.5 pounds and then last week started getting SO HUNGRY, wanting to eat everything. Gained back 4.5 pounds. I had my second fill today, bumping me up to 5.5 cc's in my 10 cc band. I'm on liquids today, tomorrow and Saturday and I AM SO HUNGRY. I want to eat everything. I wasn't hungry at all after my last fill. Have I just spent all this time, money and emotional energy on something that isn't working for me? I'm panic-stricken. I was so convinced this would be the thing that made the difference. Is this part of the normal progression, or am I in dangerous territory? Please tell me, I really could use some insight here.
  2. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for taking the time to reply. I feel better and will plug along until I do get some good restriction.:cursing:
  3. Liquid in = liquid out. I definitely had diarrhea for a few days during my recovery. I think it's pretty normal. The first few weeks post-surgery are brutal when it comes to sitting down to meals. It normalizes really quickly. Unfortunately, I haven't had my first fill yet, so I'm able to eat more than I'd like. Hang in there, and good luck!

    Long Distance Runners

Hi, I was just banded last week but was a distance runner in my 20s. My best advice would be to buy a waist holster, bring a Water bottle and sip it frequently throughout your run. It's kind of a pain but you'll get used to it, and gulping water (even without a band) can make you nauseated. Sometimes on really long runs I'd drive the route and stash a couple of water bottles along the way to pick up while I ran so I wasn't starting out with a jillion full bottles. You could also try buying a Camelbak thing and sip continuously. Then you wouldn't need to use your hands. I'm not sure how annoying that would be bouncing around on your back, though. Happy running!
