    D + 70 Days

It has been 70 days since I had my band installation. Briefly, I have lost about 40 lbs and have another 40 to go. The Bad part: I still want to snack in the evening, popcorn, nuts, ice cream. When I have nothing to do it gets very difficult not to snack. When I do snack, I will eat a handfull of dry roasted peanuts and then feel guilty afterwards. Fills: I have had 3 fills now and have another one scheduled in two weeks. Although I am still in the yellow zone, if I eat slow I get full pretty quick. If I eat fast (not good) then I feel painfully stuffed. The Dr. says I am doing just fine and right on schedule. The good part: My pants do not slide down anymore. They stay up all day with belt. I have dropped two pant sizes (46 - 42). I feel much lighter and my golf game is improving because I am not so tired when I round the 15th fairway. Blood pressure before the operation was 152/90. It is now 110/80, sometimes 110/75. Seats at the movies are roomier. In a nutshell, I am happier. My wife reads this so I will not discuss you know what!:tt1:

    D Day + 9

I was liquids for 7 days, soft food for 14 days, and then I go on real food. I am on soft food day 10. The term mushies is not apetizing too me, soft food works. As far as energy, I went back to work 3 days after surgery, big mistake. I am on Day 17, energy is returning. Big thing though is that I have lost about 15 pounds so far and I feel lighter, especially getting up in the morning, bending over is easier, just feeling better in general. I have not been able to burp at all since the surgery. I go for my post-op tommorrow. Take care guys. PS - I go back to the golf course this weekend. I hope this weight loss doesn't effect my swing.

    D Day + 9

Gas is no longer an issue, pain is pretty much gone. I used the strips and they did not seem to work as well as the tablets you chew. As of this writing I am D+13 and finally feeling healthy again. Take care guys and thanks for the responses.

    D Day + 9

Everything seems to be ok. I went back to work on Monday (D Day +3) and regreeted it. Stayed home Tuesday, half days Wed, Thurs, and Friday. Plan on a full day this Monday. Followed recommended diet, no problems. I was having a lot of discomfort because of gas. I no longer can burp. I called the Drs. Office and told them I could not burp. They advised me to come right away because they wanted to let some "air" out of the tire. I told them I would wait a week and if it continued to bother me as much as it was, I would go in. As of yesterday, the chest pains from gas are minimal, but still no burp (and I used to be proud of my belches). All in all, I am happy with the way things are progressing. Oh yea, have lost 8 pounds. More later

    D-Day + 1

Steve and Don, thanks for the feedback. I will see how I am doing tomorrow evening. Thanks again.

    D-Day + 1

Had the surgery yesterday (Friday). So far everything is as predicted. Pain pretty much under control, wish I could say the same for the gas. I am also used to sleeping on my stomach which I thought would be a problem. It is, but sleeping on my side seems to be ok although I slept about four hours last night (time right now is 4 am!). The nurse told me I should burp when possible but have not been able to except for one mealy mouse lady-like belch.:hurray: Have not eaten solids in 34 hours and surprisingly I am not hungry. Have been sipping water and OJ. For dinner last night, bullion. Bottom line - everything is ok. Oh yea, port was placed above belt line. I am a teacher and will try to go to school on Monday. Thats it guys and gals.

    Hey Guys

I am new here and go under the knife this Friday (1-25-08). Only major concern at this point is I have to be back to work on Monday. A little concerned about discomfort of port around belt line. Is it possible to ask the Dr. ahead of time to place the port where it will not interfere with belt line?
