Congrats, Heather and Kathy. What milestones you both acheived. I thought 25 lbs was a milestone I can't wait until I hit 50. Finally, i will be able to come to a meeting this month, It will be great seeing all of you. Darla

HI, I'm a lower BMI in a way 38 but I had a list of health problems so insurance paid for my band in April. So far I have lost 25 pounds in 16 weeks. However, some weeks I lose nothing. I don't know if that is normal or am I eating something wrong. I feel that my taste buds have really changed. Just like most of you I have a great husband of 20 years and grown children. My husband was against the surgery due to my health issues but like most women I got my way and I had to jump through hoops for 9 months but it was worth it. I did want to ask some one a stupid question? What is the sleeve? I have never heard of it.

Sorry I haven't written latly.. I thought I would share my 2nd fill appointment with everyone since you were talking about survey. I went yesterday for my 2nd with Dr. Miller since Dr. Choban was 10 weeks out when I made the appointment. Dr Miller was called out and there was no other Dr there and no other appountment could be made. Dr. Choban was booked until the mid of Sept. Will I ever see her again? Hopfully, I will get filled within the next 2 weeks. I am maintaining at 22 pounds which is still good but I would like to jump start it and I think I can tell it's time. I was told that Dr. Miller is re-arranging his schedule to make a full day of just fills. I think it's getting to big for just 2 doctors.

Kathy, That is great. You go girl. I didn't loss anything for two weeks and started to get disapointed, but I lost a pound last week which brings me to 21 pounds since 4/2/08.

Kathy, That is a great idea. I will be in Chicago visiting my daughter on the 28th, but if you guys do something else I would love to help. I have been working a lot so I haven't been online very much. I hope everyone is doing well. You said the next support meeting was on the June 14th. Will it be at Polaris? How did your 1st fill go? My went well and I'm up to 20lbs. Next fill is on July 8th.

Kathy, that is great. I am already off of my blood pressure meds. and down 17 lbs. How was your first fill? I have my on the 20th. Sorry, I haven't been online I have been work 50 plus hours already.

I thought it was just me with hiccups. I called my doctor and she said I was still eating too fast. I slowed down today and I have been fine.

I had my surgery on 4/2 and I felt like that for about a week. The burping gets better and the swolleness goes away. I feel great and back to working 50 hours a week. I felt tried for the first few weeks, but I'm better now. Good Luck it's worst it. I'm already off one med.:cool2:

Kathy, just wanted to see how you were doing. Have you had your first fill yet. My fill is scheduled for May 20th.

Heather, when is the next meeting? I just want to make sure that I write it down. My husband said he felt so comfortable and enjoyed taking with everyone. I think he feels a little bit about my decision. Thanks again to everyone.

I just want to say that I had a great time today and I am so glad that I came to meet everyone. I feel so much better and I don't feel so alone. Other people are going through the same thing that I'm going through. Also I think it made my husband feel better asking questions and getting a better understanding of everything. Thanks, can't wait until next month.

I loved your video blog, I never thought of doing something like that. It's taken me 9 months to get through ths whole process and get approved by insurance, so my blog would have been long and probably showen my frustration. But it's all been worth it so far. It's only been a week and I'm ready to go back to work because I'm so bored with daytime TV. So I'm going back on Monday. I feel pretty good and not hungery yet. I'll see how the mushies stage goes.

Thanks for sharing the size of the needle. I have only been banded a week so I have 6 weeks to go until my frist fill and I'm scared to death of needles. LOL

Yes, I had surgery at Mount Carmel West on 4/2. Dr. Choban was my doctor, she is really great. Did anyone have a problem with them filling out leave of abs papers? They still have not sent back my papers to my work which is Mount Carmel.

I'm not hurgery right now, but what happens in a couple of weeks? I don't know if I'm up for mushie food. I don't even like mashed potatoe. What will I eat?:purplebananna:

Banded on 4/2/08 Today is 4/7/08 I feel pretty good today. I'm not hurting this morning and I'm ready to start walking in the morning again. I have losted about 5 to 7 pounds. The last two days I got real tried after walking around the block and going to the store, so we will see how today goes. I have all week off which will probably drive me nuts, but I'm going to try to walk several times a day to build up my strenght.:thumbs_up:

Hello, My name is Darla and I was just banded on April 2. I'm doing okay so far, but I want to meet other people that have been banded. All the people I know had Gastric By pass. I will try to make it on Saturday the 12th.:purplebananna:

I was reading your receipes and they sound great. Since you were banded on 3/18 you are a couple of weeks ahead of me. I was banded 4/2 at Mt. Carmel Dr. Choban. What are you eating right now. It's hard for me to think about blending veg. and chicken up. Any tips?

Thanks for the real words. I have been scared how I will feel afterwards since I have only had one surgery in my life and I felt like a mac truck hit me. All my paperwork is done just waiting on insurance. I think this is the worst part.
