  1. Mine feels the same way, it is just the port down there. In the bigger incision. Mine feel tender as well and still bother me.
  2. I kept throwing up. I got hospitalized 2 days after surgery, I had dehydrated. I couldnt keep anything in my stomach, that was because it was hanging half to one side and half to the other with the band in the middle. My band slipped and the stiches were gone because I kept throwing up. I could not help keeping it in, not even a sip of water. Eventually an x-ray was done and that is how they determined it had slipped.
  3. My port is bothersome as well. I guess well have to deal with it. I havent lost much weight yet, so I am not sure how it will turn out to look. Hopefully it wont be that visible.

What is a PB? Tell me EVERYTHING!

Oh, you bet that it is worst. It was really painful to the point that I asked the doctor to take band off. He didnt, he said that my symptoms were not normal. They did an x-ray and that is how they saw that my stomach was hanging to both sides with the band in the middle. It was terrible. I had never experienced such pain. Not only did I have to deal with the pain, but dehydration as well. 2 times, all this in 5 days. :smile2:
  5. You guys have answered my questions! I had been wondering if burping after a meal was normal. That is so unlike me, I rarely burped before. It becomes really embarrassing burping after a meal especially at work.

What is a PB? Tell me EVERYTHING!

Thank God I havnt had a PB, I've had a slippage and that is about it. Does anyone burp often? I find myself burping a lot after I eat. I don't burp loud, but still I find it embarrassing.
  7. Dont think you should worry. I had my 1st surgery on 1/18/08, then 2nd surgery on 1/23/08 and till this day from time to time when i bend the port area bothers me as well. I can't say it's painful, but it is bothersome. Hope you feel better! Maribel
  8. I just got banded on Friday, January 18, 2008 and five days later found out that my band had slipped. It was the most awful pain that I have ever experienced and luckily my doctors were able to determine (after an x-ray) that my band had slipped and had to immediately go into the operating room again. This was all because I did not follow directions when my doctor told me not to eat anything at all. Let me tell you that the slightest most tiniest piece of food can get stuck in your pouch and will cause a lot of vomiting which will, in turn, cause the slippage. I highly recommend that you follow all the instructions and diets that are given to you as this will make your band experience a good one. After the band was adjusted, I felt a tremendous relief being that before it was fixed, I could not hold any liquids at all (including medication) and was dehydrated to the point that I felt extremely weak. Feel free to ask anything you want about slippage. I'm new to this, just as many of us are, but I guarantee you that with my latest experience, I feel now that I am an expert in band slippage. Good luck to all in your journey!
  9. I just had surgery there on Jan. 18, 2008 with Dr. Cantu and Dr. Mansur. Their facilities are great and the treatment there is beyond any treatment that I have ever received elsewhere. The cost for the surgery there is between 7,900 and 8,300 dollars.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I recently had the surgery done (5 days ago) and am experiencing the exact same pain in the same area. I don't think this has anything to do with gall stones on my part, but do any of you think that it might be that the band is on too tight?
