  1. Happy 37th Birthday philsangel!

  2. I lost 18 lbs the first week after my banding on 2/25 and since then my total weightloss to day is 21 lbs, I went back to work 1 week post op and with being a nurse at a busy prison I get the pleasure of running about a block up hill when they call a medical emergency pushing my cart of supplies so that would be the only exercise I have had since surgery but if it would stop raining here in WA I would start taking our dog on long walks, I also purchased roller blades and might have to work on getting steady on them so I can roller blade around our neighborhood.
  3. muscle milk is the only one I like, I have also been getting Jamba Juices with protein powder I love them. Also the yoplait yogurt smothies work well. As for the rest good luck I have had to cheat a little doing scrambled eggs and potatoe soup from olive garden blended just out of desperation for some flavor. I also discovered the Propel invigorating waters from costco they are great have small amount of caffeine in them, but they taste great no sweetner after taste. Now that I am on to mushies I got me a big bag of potatoes and plan on having mashed potatoes a lot with some protien on top, my dietician gave me a list of suggestions one of which was sloppy joe meat pureed on top of mashed tatoes which sounds yummy.
  4. Well my grandmother is very sick in the hospital, was taken by ambulance for sepsis and possible stroke just 4 days before my surgery. I have been pretty good but when we travel the 1 1/2 hour drive to see her I have a hard time sticking to my liquid diet, I have done a lot of jamba juices with protein, but had to order mushy foods at the restraunt as they did not have any soup. Anyone else have trouble with this part of the diet. Other then the trips which are un avoidable I have been good at home with v8, muscle milk, chicken brother, olive garden soup zupa tuscan blended, propel flavored water, and water. I am glad I only have a few more days of liquids then I can go to mushies well mushies all the time i did have mashed potatoes and gravy tonight for dinner. Nothing so far has bothered me, and I am loosing weight well. I have my post op appointment on Tuesday and have been emailing my surgeon with any questions he is awesome.

Well today was my psych eval, and after I finished that I stopped at the surgions office across the street and I have my nutrition class setup for 2/4, my pre op appointment 2/11 and my surgery will be 2/25 I can believe how quick this all has happened, I went to an info session in November, then put it off until I had my wrist surgery done and recovered from, so I finally got my records on 1/3 and 1/7 the insurance approved me. I am excited and nervous. My biggest issue at this point is how much time to tell my agency I want to take off from work, I currently have off from the 25 to the end of february, I am thinking that I could say I was available for work on Friday the 7th of March, do you think that is enough time to recover. I am an RN working at the prison, so not a lot of heavy lifting, mostly medication passing, and triage time work. I am glad I found this site I have been reading for a few days and just decided to post finally.
