    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

My BMI day of surgery was 35. I've chosen not to tell a lot of people about it, because I hate the reaction I've had when I mentioned thinking about surgery in the past. People think it's taking the lazy way out, or being vain, etc. The reality is that I have tried everything else to lose weight to no avail. I am scared about my physical health and the impact on my self-esteem. When people comment on my weight loss my response will be that I lost weight by eating a lot less. That's not a lie, so I feel good about it.

    Blood Disorder

I have Factor 5 Leiden! My surgery was 1/25 and I have to give myself shots in the abdomen for 30 days to lower my blood clot risk. I had no idea I had this disorder until my surgeon ran some extra blood work. I'm very thankful she was so thorough, and I feel a lot better after meeting with a hematologist

    Family Hurts

Maybe ask her to just say you have lost weight by eating less. That's the truth

    January 25th sleeves?!

1/25 here, too. I've had the same gurgles. I think it's Co2 working its way out of my body from the surgery

    What have I done?

My surgery was also 1/25. It was rough for 4 days, but something finally clicked on day 5. Walking helps a ton. I'm dreaming of crackers the way a person wearing a nicotine patch missed smoking, but I know I can get through it.
  6. I'm 7 days out. The pain from my breathing tube during surgery was by far the worst, but I have felt great since surgery. I had a really hard time forcing myself to get protein shakes and water in for the first 5 days, but something changed and I'm able to drink fine now without feeling like I want to vomit. Hang in there! I've also been really active and walking about 30 minutes a day and I think that's making a difference. Also, sugar free Popsicles are a life saver!
  7. I had my surgery the 25th also. My biggest complaint would be the frequent headaches and the tough time gagging down protein drinks. Who knew I would ever dream of puréed food?
