I love my veggies too!! I do salads, seedless cucumber slices, those frozen singles by Green Giant of broccoli, green beans etc... For a real treat I go to Subway, get a salad and top it with chicken breast and load up on all of the veggies....YUM!! :rolleyes2:

It depends on what your doctor has as his protocol, for me after a fill, it was Clear liquids for 1 day then full liquid for 2 days then soft 2 days etc... I think you would be able to do cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, maybe blend up some turkey and dilute with gravy. If you are having others for dinner that don't know, put the usual stuff on the plate and eat only what you can, usually everyone is busy chatting they don't pay much attention. Congratulations on your band!!! Good luck!!

Wow Christine... sounds like you have an unbelievable amount of stress going on. I am sorry to hear your new job isn't what you want it to be. That is so stressful to change jobs, glad to hear you have the option to go back to the old job. Good luck with your decision. As for your family including your husband and your mother in-law I will keep them in my prayers. Take care of yourself... we are here if you need us!

Anyone else close to being under 300lbs????
Tess415 replied to Tess415's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations Mrs Flip Flops!!! I am so happy for you!!! That is fantastic!!!! -
I can finally see 200's in my future!!! It's been several years since I've been below 300 and it didn't last long on previous attempts, but I'm feeling pretty confident this time with my band it will be different! I hope I'm right!!!! I've been doing good the last 2 weeks... doing exercise and following rules!!! Anyone else want to join me in the short term goal of getting rid of the "3" being the first digit in our weight????????? Tess

I am glad that they numbed your skin for you!!!! That is the least that they could do!!! Hope your port is in position for next time. Take Care!
-
Did he check the port first with an ultrasound machine? Then once they find it, they clean it off really good, have you lift your legs off of the table so the port pops up! And it should be right there to be accessed. Also my doctor numbs the skin first, and it wasn't bad at all. Hope this helps and it goes better tomorrow!!!! Good luck!!

Gall Bladder problems and Lap band
Tess415 replied to Blix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not only with the lapband, but any significant weight loss can set you up for a gall bladder issue, even liquid diets and gastric bypass. It's hit or miss, some people will be fine and not have any difficulties with it. -
I just thought of something.....
Tess415 replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor gave me nausea meds post op to have on hand if I ever need to take them. I would suggest asking for meds first, then if that doesn't relieve nausea and your vomiting, I would call for an unfill. Stick to liquids only, that way your stomach will stay on the empty side!!! -
Saying goodbye to my clothes....
Tess415 replied to CorvetteFerrari's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Over the years, I have gotten rid of things that had gotten too big, but kept a few items for the "Just in case". Unfortunately, I would end up wearing them again and again. Then I would save the smaller sized stuff, for the next diet. Well, now going from a 30/32 down to a 22... I am proud to say, I am running out of stored clothes to shrink into!!!!! Now, I bargain shop for some new clothes. I wear scrubs at work, so there is alot of flexibility in those types of clothes (thank goodness). This time around, I am saving a few "before" items and donating the rest. I don't want to keep anything for the "just in case" reason ever again!!!!!! Honestly, some of the things I kept, are now so dated and out of style... I wouldn't end up wearing them anyway!! I have invested in some very nice active wear that I go to the gym in, and I wear stuff like that on my days off, so I am ready to go to exercise!!! -
Hmmmm.... its gotten really quiet on here lately!!! We need to get some excitement going on!!!! 2 days left before the candy holiday!! Haven't gotten into the bags of candy yet, however, I baked some cut out sugar Cookies... I have had a couple but not too many. It's ok as long as I keep my activity level up!!!! Harley - I wanted to tell you that I loved the everyday mineral make up and I have officially converted, I just sent in an order for myself after trying the samples... Good suggestion!!! Thank you!!! Christine - How's the reflux?? Did you have a good first day on your new job?? Anyone concerned about the next holiday... Thanksgiving??? I chickened out, and signed up to work, and I am sending my family over to my SIL's. Just didn't want to bother with it this year!!!

On the topic of soda... I gave it up a few months before I had to just to make sure I could live without it. Haven't really had any except for a couple of sips a few months ago, only to find out it tasted like crap!!! I can't believe how my taste buds heave changed! I was a diet pepsi-aholic!!! Had to have it every morning and could easily go thru a 2 liter a day myself!!!! Now, its just me and my crystal light or water... who would thought!?!?!? Not missing it at all, and as far as the kick in the morning I drink crystal light energy, it has caffeine and B vitamins. It does pick me up!!!

I've had a pretty good week. Staying on track. We don't have any Halloween candy in the house yet... so I am being pretty good. I am just a little worried about when the candy gets here. I haven't meant a piece of chocolate that I don't like!!!!

Only my first fill was with fluoroscopy. The other was in the office. I could tell when the Water was moving and as I told him he made the adjustments. Until I could only sip on water and wait for it to go down.

How do I avoid mental hunger?
Tess415 replied to karebare714's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Karen - congratulations on getting you lapband. I too had the same problems with the evening. I work 12 hour shifts so I would get home, be hungry and want to relax and eat, which unfortunately would be in front of the TV. Bad habit for me... and the weight really piles on that way for me. I now go to the gym in the evening sometimes from 7-8pm, that way I am much tighter after exercising, so I have that physical satiety going for me. I am finding I have more energy in the evening now that I have lost almost 70 pounds, so I am not a victim of the lazy-boy!!!! I get on lapband talk and my hands keep busy that way, and my mind too. I also try not to eat in front of the TV anymore, I eat in the kitchen and am trying to separate the 2 activities from each other. If I do want to snack in the evening I try to pick a good Protein choice so that it doesn't trigger giving into all of the bad carb choices (chips, Cookies, crackers etc...) The main thing is to switch up your evening routine to work with your goals, and before you know it you'll be down several more pounds!!!!!! -
I was told by my nurse specialist with our lapband program that I can only have 3 fills my first year. Has anyone else been told a limit? My doctor is aggressive with fills. Fills it until you're completely restricted and the Water just sits in your throat, the takes pulls out tiny amounts at a time until it just trickles down. I see that some have several fills at set amounts of 1cc at a time or some have larger fills. What do you guys think?
-
Hmmmm.... the name sounds familiar. Fenton.....Fenton...Fenton... OH YAH! I remember him!!!!! I guess we can call off the private investigators we hired to find you!!!!!LOL Seriously, Jonathan... get back on the bus with us... plenty of room... put one foot in front of the other, get that fill and get going again!!!!!! Today is a new day for being in control!!!! (NOT A LAST SUPPER DAY!!)
-
Just came back from the surgeon. I am down another 3 pounds!!! My port is feeling better, just going to keep an eye on it for now, no redness or swelling etc... He said we would adjust the band as needed, and asked if I felt like I had enough restriction, which I do feel happy at this point. "Don't fix what ain't broke"! I am just going with it!!!!!:Dancing_biggrin:

Anyone have a pelvic ultrasound after banding?
Tess415 replied to Great2BThin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just had a pelvic ultrasound last week, I had no problem drinking the water. I have no restriction with water either like Jachut.
