    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Happy Thanksgiving to All!!! I am working Thursday and Friday....so, I don't think I'll get into too much trouble. Just me and my Lean Cuisine Turkey!!!!! My latest NSV ( just for you Fenton)- 3 years ago my best friend bought me a beautiful sweater and turtleneck set. I just loved it, and when I put it on I got it as far as over my head!!!! Actually, i stretched it so wide I barely could pull in down over my chest!!!! I come across it every few months when I get donation and garage sale things together, I just couldn't part with it.... I wanted to wear it because it was a perfect color for me!!!! So, I just kept it in storage. Last week, I went on a hunt and found it... got it out... put it on... NOT ONLY DOES IT FIT...IT IS LOOSE ON ME!!!! OMG!!! I am wearing it with pride!!! I even had to text my friend and tell her it fit!!!

I'm surprised he said our max will be at the year marker... that's what they say for gastric bypass patients. I was told 2-3 years out that our weight loss would equal that of a gastric bypass patients. I agree with all of you.... WE ARE KICKING A** WITH THIS WEIGHT LOSS!!!!! JUST IMAGINE WHERE WE ALL WILL BE ON OUR ONE YEAR BANDIVERSARY!!!!!!!

Yes, I need to remind myself I am not perfect and never will be... just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other!!!!! Jonathan- you need to make yourself a travel kit to satisfy your new lifestyle... you travel so much, once you get it planned out of the things to have available even in other countries, you will be set!!! You can do it, make a plan and stick to it!!!!

    Atrial Fibrillation

I know those palpitations can be very annoying... I am glad to hear that both of you have doctor appt's to have it check out!!!! Hang in there.

    Atrial Fibrillation

Are you back on all of your medication... besides coumadin were you taking a beta blocker or a Calcium channel blocker? I do not have afib but I had to take the shorter acting betablocker crushed for a few weeks and could tell the difference. Is your appointment with a EP specialist ( Specialized in the wiring of the heart?)

I would love to come to the conference but that is the weekend my youngest son makes his confirmation, and also his birthday!!! Maybe next time. Well, I go to the doctor today...I don't think my number is going to be impressive and I wonder if he will want to do a fill. I have been eating more carbs than Protein lately, and I don't know that a fill is what I need, or a kick in the a**! We shall see what he says. Yesterday Valerie Bertonalli was on tv talking about her book, and said there is this saying at Jenny Craig: It's not about perfection... It's about progress! I think this is my new motto!!!!

    Fatty liver ?

I too have a fatty liver, discovered on a CatScan done a couple of years ago. If you actually watched a Lapband surgery they have to lift up the liver to get it out of the way to do the band as it lays on the stomach. Anything to help shrink things up to make that easier is important to do!!!! The pre op weight loss and liquid fast prior to is of the utmost importance!! I followed instructions to the tee and all went well for me!!! Wish you all health and happiness!

Jonathan - I am going to sit down and touch base with DH, I think he realized yesterday that he didn't, make a wise choice for me. I thought I would wait a day, so it wouldn't seem like an attack, or overly critical. We definitely need to talk, and I need to be very clear about what I need from him. (again) As far as you weighing in today, yes, it is what it is. However, I will tell you that reading your post, you are definitely in a different place mentally. A better place than you have been in lately. Everyone needs someone in there corner, and a goal.... you now have both and I believe you will be on your way to losing those pounds again. You sound much more positive, and its good to hear! Have a great day, and don't sweat the new starting number...now you'll know where you are!!!!! ps I've been able to log on LBT ok lately. Sometimes it bogged down, but ok for me recently.

Hmmmm!!!! I like floating the donut idea too!!! I don't think he intentionally sets out to sabotage, but... our relationship was definitely centered around food. I think he learned early on that food is comfort and my best friend. (We've been together over 20 years) It's just that I am trying to make changes and he is not concerned by it enough to put thought into it. Thanks for the support!

Harley - that's very impressive to be able to buy and take them to work and not eat one?!?! That is a feat I don't know if I could do.

:smile2: OMG!!!! I really need to get something off of my chest... so pardon my rant but here it goes!!!! I have posted before about my skinny a** DH and the donut thing!!! Well, today he took the kids to school and came home with donuts. Not just for him, like I have repeatedly asked him to do time and time again. I do not care nor can I control what junk he puts in his pie hole, I will never have the metabolism like his... absolutely unbelievable eat sleep eat sleep he should weigh 500 pounds!!!! So, today he brings me 3 big donuts (rolls) from the bakery!!!! Does he not get it?? Does he not care??? Does he not think just the money alone spent on this surgery and gym membership should be wasted... never mind the lack of emotional support. I can't stand it some days, and this is one of those mornings!!!! He actually put the damn things on a plate on the counter, and told me he picked out my favorites. (yes, they are all my favorites) Well, after ignoring them for the past hour, I got up enough nerve to put them back into the bag and weigh myself and have made my decision NOT TO EAT THE DAMN THINGS!!! I am going to the gym in a little while instead. I had Kashi with yogurt on it YUM! instead. Thanks for listening!!!

Hope some of these suggestions help.

First of all... Ronda OMG!!!! You are doing fantastic!! I am so happy for you!!! You will be at goal before you know it!!!! Fenton- Glad to hear from you, even if it was the threat of the group of bandsters coming after you!!!!! LOL! :iagree:You guys are right... it is so hard to get away from the food socialization thing, unless you want to hold up and be alone!!! My husband and I have that challenge of focusing around eating out together on our days off together. I had been asking to go for a walk instead, but he's not much of an exerciser, and he can eat anything and everything and not gain an ounce. (sucks) And now with the weather getting bad, he won't go to the gym with me either. So, at least I pick where we go, that gives me some control over the situation. But its tough!!!

Amanda- I still see my life coach once a month. I think it is money well spent. I am hoping to go to an as needed basis after the first of the year. It has been over a year since I started seeing her and she is just a great source of support for me. I think I am finally settling into my band. Quite a few people at work noticed how much I've lost and are in awe so far. It feels good to get compliments and encouragement from co-workers. I had a few rough weeks but no weight gain (thank goodness). Where the heck is Jonathan???? Shall we go to New York and hunt him down?

    Carb-oholics Anonymous....

It is so hard sometimes!!!! I'm not giving up though!!! I just get into old patterns sometimes and it scares me. I just need to reset myself and forge ahead. I feel better when I avoid carbs and the scale moves so easily when I stick to Protein and veggies. Tomorrow is a new day!!!
  23. Tess415

    Vegetables?

Speaking of roasted here's a quick recipe that you can make and I eat it for a few days. Cut into chunks and place on cookie sheet: red onion, yellow and green squash, different color of peppers (yellow, orange, red and green) sliced mushrooms. Drizzle a couple teaspoons of olive oil and toss then season with Lawry's. Bake in oven 20 min at 400 degrees. YUMMMMMMM! This was my answer to shish-ka-bobs!!!

    Slimfast Anyone???

I used slim fast when at work and on the go while on liquids. When I could I used a mix from a weight loss program HMR700. I would just watch the calorie and Protein count closely, the calories can add up quick on the ready-to-use protein stuff sometimes. As far as tolerating it, I didn't have any problems with it. Good luck on your upcoming Lapband!!!!!!
  25. I had internal stitches and then glue on the outer part. They healed well, I too had a little part of a stitch show through but it did dissolve without problem. I had staples with my 2 c-sections, don't sweat it they didn't hurt coming out at all!!! You will do fine!!! :rolleyes2:
