Wow... I just logged on for the first time since I dont know when. How did your surgery go. Sorry I did not respond to you when you contacted me. I been a year and a half for me and I have lost about 55 lbs. I went from size 44 pants to 36. I weigh less now than 12 years ago when I got married. I am so excited. Weight loss has slowed down a bit but things are going good. i think it is better this way. Better than bypass thats for sure. I still have my stomach.

Ok ... I dont understand how this works but I works. Yes I have made major changes to my eating habits but overall I don't feel like I am dieting. Tuesday March 25th I weighed in at 250.5 lbs for a total weight loss so far of 35.1 lbs since I began the liquid diet and had the surgery back in January 8th. BTW...Had a physical yesterday and my blood pressure is looking good. I am looking forward to the warm weather so I can get out and do some work around the house and increase my physical activity. So far my Lapband has been filled with 6.5 CCs and I am noticing that I am less hungry and a meal takes me further through the day.

Hello Everyone, My Name is Joe and a I was banded on 1/08/08. At 38 yrs old, I've lived with high blood pressure for most of my life and primary care was not something I sought up until about 4 years ago when my wife asked me to get a physical. At this stage in my life I am beginning to see feel the effects of high plood pressure and obesity on my livelyhood. My doctor warned me that diabetes would be next if I continued my current lifestyle. Thats was when reality knocked at my door and I decided it was time to confront my demons. I started the process back on June 7, 2007 when I attended my first Lap Band informational meeting. Today, I began phase 3 of the post op program after 3 weeks of liquids only diet. A week before my operation, I weighed in at 285.6 lbs. and I will be seeing my doctor for the first time after surgery in two days. Now I am wondering how much difference has the liquid diet made in kick starting my weight loss journey. I plan to use this site for support. My wife and I are planning to start a family late 2008 and my goal is to be healthy for my family and play the best role I can as a husband and a father (God Willing). BTW - I hope have Toprol, Norvasc, Lipitor, and Hyzaar out of my life in the future.

How could a guy be anxious about going to the Doctor? Well I did. After 3 weeks on a liquid diet, I wanted to know if it worth the misery. So on 1/24/08 I went to my first visit after my surgery. The results were better than I expected. On Friday December 28, 2008 I weighed in at 285.6 lbs at my pre op rundown at New Britain General Hospital. On Thursday January 24, 2008 I weighed in at 265... 19 lbs down. I know that once I start solid foods again the weight loss wont be as quick but the difference is very motivating. Now, I am getting ready to start going to the gym again. Hope I have good news on my next report

Hello Seajules, Thanks for stopping by. I see you are doing great with the program. I had my first visit today with the Doctor after the surgery. I must I am very excited about the results so far. I realize it will slow down now that I am phasing out of the liquid diet. I know I will have to offset the difference with exercise. Its all well. Stay in touch.

Dr. Barba banded me on Jan 8, 2008. I did not talk to any other Doctors. I have no regrets.

Some background... Seemed like a new years resolution when I began the liquid diet on January 1, 2007, one week before my Lap Band surgery. Now I dont want to see a Protein Shake or Crystal Light for a while. Today (1/24/08) I began phase 3 of my "Journey" by eating 1/2 cups of soft mushy food. Breakfast - 1/2 cup of Cottage Cheese with Pineapple. Lunch - 1/2 cup of Tuna Fish. Dinner - "Tore Up" a Veggie Burger into millions of pieces with watered down ketchup and mustard. By the end of the week I will probably get bored of it too. This is the longest I have kept a New Years Resolution. This time I don't think I have a choice.
