bamboobabe replied to georgia girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Georgia Girl; My birthday is on Saturday as well. No party though. Just plan to treat myself to new make-up since new clothes would be crazy right now. Gonna hang out with some friends. Happy birthday to your son! Hope all is well with you. Looks like you're gonna reach your sweetheart goal. Way to Go! -
Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Mia; Haven't posted in a while. Work has been craaaazzzy! Hope everything goes well for you on Friday. I'll be thinking of and praying for you. Wow, I know you have to be so excited to get a fill. I'm scheduled for the 25th and can hardly wait. I feel very little restriction and have started going to the gym. Just 30 minutes every other day on the treadmill. No additonal weight loss, but I feel much better overall. Best of luck. -
Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Georgia Girl; My vote is for Bagnato Bandits! It has sort of a "Jesse James" feel to it, and that's cool. On the monthly support group, will they be continued in the Tifton area, or possibly rotate. I ask because I live in Dublin and that's a really long drive for me. -
Mia; I'm terribly sorry that you're going thru this. I know it must feel awful, but the good thing is it was found early enough to avoid any future complications. I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Please don't be too discouraged by all of this, you've come so far and you've done a wonderful thing to improve your health. Things sometimes just happen. I wish you all the best.

Georgia Girl; I noticed that you've recorded another loss. Congratulations! I was just wondering, what is a typical day's eating for you? Do you aim for a certain number of calories/ low carb/ or anything special? Thanks again for your help.

Dori; I'm newly banded, 37 years old, and have lost 16 pounds since pre-op date on Jan. 9th. I agree that genetically, we are all subject to lose at different rates. It sounds as though you were already "physically fit", and that may be one reason. I'm a certified "couch potatoe" and will get into the gym now that my doctor has given me the o'kay. My concern for you, is that you may have some type of slippage or leak to your band. Are you feeling any restriction at all? Perhaps that's something you can address with your doctor. The flip side to that is, you have lost the 40 pounds and I know that alone is a world of difference! God bless and I wish you continued success on your journey.

Hello Everyone: Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a newly banded AA Georgian! It's great to read of all the trials, tribulations, and great results. Tann, I must say that you have certainly been an inspiration!

Georgia Girl; Thanks for the post. This can all seems so overwhelming at times and I just want to make sure that I do everything I can to get the most out of the band. Especially since I was self-pay!! This isn't like buying a treadmill that's better used as a clothes hanger. You seem to be doing great. You were an inspiration for me before getting banded. Thanks for all you do!

Mia; I'm glad your feeling better about your port site. Sounds like the antibiotics are doing the trick. Where can I find that tuna recipe. And what type of protein are you using. I could only find the low carb slim fast that I liked. Bought some stuff from GNC, but it tastes awful!!! Had a soft scrambled egg for breakfast. Yum!!!

Hi Guys, Went for my post-op visit today and was down 15 pounds since pre-surgery visit on 1/9/08!!! I am so excited. Dr. B. said I was doing remarkably well and moved me to soft foods. I am so excited. Had chicken noodle soup tonight and did fine. No reflux, vomiting, or stuck feeling so far. I've got to get used to not drinking during or after, but that will become easier with time. Terry metioned the website and the meeting and seemed excited about the possibility in taking part in both. I too think that will be a great idea. I'm about three hours from Tifton though and would like to perhaps attend a group setting at Palmyra. Hope it happens soon. Today was the first time I "officially" felt like a "bandster"!

Has anyone used Dr. Glasgow in Norwood??

Sue; I'm newly banded and have been inspired by your weight loss thus far. How much have you actually lost since being banded? You are my inspiration! -
Mia; I had a chalky film on my tongue today and mouth was very dry. I called Terry in Dr. Bag's office and he prescribed something for yeast. She said this sometimes happens when giving the antibiotic for surgery. As for hunger, I told Terry that I felt like I was starving. She told me to drink a slim-fast. I have and now I feel much better. What time is your follow-up on Thursday. I go on Thursday as well.

Boo Boo; Congratualtions! I was just banded four days ago and feel as though I am starving! Thank you for the inspiration! I know that I can do this because of you. Do you have a weighloss blog showing your journey? -
Hello Everyone; I'm Alli and I've just been banded by Dr. Bagnato on Friday, the 18th! So far, so good. I've been reading your posts since a few weeks prior to my surgery and it's all been so helpful that I decided to join and introduce myself. I'm still learning how to operate site. Will get ticker going soon. Just wanted to say "Hi" and ask if anyone had a problem with their mouth feeling chalky during the liquid phase?
