Did I eat too much at once?
mindyemt08 replied to mindyemt08's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I normally would eat 6 egggs and maybe a tuna sandwich. Yikes! My swelling has most certainly went down since surgery and my BMI is on the low side (34) so my doctor did say that I would be hungrier than someone with a BMI of say 45. He said some people with a BMI that high may not need a fill for quite some time and I will want one 4-6 weeks out. Anyone hear this? -
Not feeling full and frustrated! Does it change?
mindyemt08 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone! This site is GREAT! I was banded recently on Jan. 10th. The first few days with restriction was pretty easy but it has been progressively getting harder to feel even somewhat full. I mostly feel a bloated feeling after I have eaten but not really the normal feeling of being full. Do you ever get the "full" feeling back or just the feeling that your pouch is full? Thanks alot guys! I appreciate your expertise. -
Pre Op Liquid Diet
mindyemt08 replied to Kittenqutie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure is expensive. That is what I prefer to drink over the "milky" protein drinks. However, you can buy the Isopure powder that is a little cheaper but in my opinion it did not taste as good. Yuck! There are also several other protein drinks at places like Wal-Mart that you could try that are cheaper. The only reason I don't is because I don't like them but lots of people try to mask the taste by making smoothies and adding fruit. Also, if you can make it just a couple weeks with the Isopure, you can get your protein from your mushies with the eggs and stuff. From what I understand, the protein drinks are the most important during the liquid phase when your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs. Not drinking it will slow your weight loss down a bit, but my doc said it is only necessary during the first 2 weeks. I hope that helps! -
Heavy lifting in job! When to return?
mindyemt08 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I am an EMT and I do lots of heavy lifting and 12 hour shifts. Should I go back to work at 2 weeks post-op or wait longer. I don't want to rush things and get hurt but I need to return as soon as I can. Any suggestions or opinions would be GREAT! Thanks:rolleyes: -
I am a newbie and when I eat I feel gassy, kind of like there is a lot of air that I ate with my food. I also cannot burp even though I feel like I need to. The air feels trapped. There is also alot of rumbling after I eat. Im not sure what this is from. Am I normal?????

Quality over Quantity: The Struggle With Brain Hunger
mindyemt08 replied to NanaRenan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I couldn't agree more. Just as I am done eating, I am thinking about what I will eat next. Also, I get really gassy right after I eat. Is this normal? My tummy also rumbles alot like it is digesting food, but of course our bodies never did this before. Another thing is that I cannot burt. I feel like I need to but the air just stays down there. Is this normal? Thanks -

I just started eating mushies. I'd like to have mashed potatoes and stuff but am worried I will gain weight. Since I don't feel full I am worried I will eat more than just a little, hence gaining weight. HELP! I don't want to lost what I have already lost. -

Although I am having problems feeling full, campbell's cream of chicken soup with herbs tastes better than regular cream of chicken soup. What I do is add just 1/2 can of water to it and it is thicker but goes down just as easy!
