Hi RealSista: I am also ready to start on the mushy stage. I have been working on it since last Friday. I am eating mashed potatos and some pinto beans in a lot of juice. I also like the Campbell's soup at hand very much. They are easy to take to work and sip on. I haven't told many people at work, so it makes me not be so obvious. I also have had cottage cheese. My family had 2 cookouts this weekend and I actually had some meat (steak) I took one regular size piece of steak and cut it into very, very small pieces and chewed, and chewed and chewed. It tasted so good! I am going to try to eat small amounts of whatever and make sure to take it slow. My nutritionist had us make us sample menus to go by in all the stages, I drink V8 right now for the veggies. I would love suggestions.

I wanted to hop on here and say hello to everyone! I am back at work and doing fine. I took 5 days off and with weekends, that was 10 days.:biggrin: I feel fine, just a little tired and everyone asking very nosey questions. Seems they all notice that I have lost a few lbs.:crazy: A young male student in the Industrial Electricity class has even written me a love poem. Do your best on the pre op diet. Try to practice with protein shakes before you get too hungry. I don't think many people are perfect on the pre-op, but the better you do the easier it will be on you after surgery and they will be more likely to have an easy time in surgery. I know some have had to have open surgery if the liver is too large. The pre-op diet will make all this easiery. So just try. This is going to be so worth it and will change your life!

Hi Grey Glad you are ok and your surgery went well. I also have 5 incisions. None in the belly button Hope you continue to do well.

Jill, I didn't have a fever, but I think a low temp for a day or two is normal. If it gets too high over 101 call the doc. I hope you are doing well.

This is a new one for me. I don't remember EVER seeing anything about a camera down the throat about this surgery. Yes, they intubate you for the breathing during the anesthesia, but the cameras are in the laprascopic openings. (I think) look at the video on the www.realiseband.com web site. This may help ease your fears. Also, you don't know a thing they are doing to you.

reareal: The gas is awful. :biggrin: I just had to breathe and let it roll. It did turn into the trotts! Several times I didn't make it to the bathroom in time and had to shower. Awful! :Banane42: That is better now and the only gas pain is between my shoulder blades, like I need to burp! :frown: The hunger, I did feel, but that left also. I found that tomato soup made with water helped a lot! Another day I had chicken noodle soup, and gave the chicken and noodles to my grandson! I also found the V8 Splash Lite helped! I would drink the protein bullets from GNC. :thumbup: Try watching movies with no commercials. I stay away from the kitchen as much as possible. I did go out to eat with my BF today, (he really isn't too sensitive) I asked for soup and to drain off everyting and give me the broth! They did that at Cheddars and I had unsweet Rasberry Tea! I was so full I am about to pop! and I only had half the soup broth. Stick with it . The hunger does pass and so does the GAS!

I started using Campbells soup at hand, (Hope they are legal) :thumbup: I double checked my book and it seems that they are. When I have one of them a day, I am so much better.:frown: I have had Cream of Tomato, Creamy Potato and Creamy Chicken. I also have a protein bullet a day and one Slim Fast Protein shake. I think I am finally turning the corner. At first I thought "What a breeze!":biggrin: And then the Band "hell" :cursing:started to set in! I was hungry to chew something. :glare: The smell of food starved me to death! I hurt and couldn't take the pain meds, cause of the codine. :tongue2: All I wanted to do was sleep and I slept a lot!:sleep: I had the runs and had to trot to the toliet every time is got into the bed.:smile: The stuff I could have was either too sweet or too salty. I thought I was doomed! The only thing I managed to do was update the June Bug list and post a bit on here.:cool2: Then came a new day! :smile2:I got up--prayed a bunch! I fixed myself a Muscle Milk shake and started moving more. :wink2:I have been moving all along, but this time it was easier. I am also not hungry anymore! :mellow:I have set a timer to remind me to eat! Yesterday, I even took my GS to the music store and Wal Mart. I am teaching him to play the clarinet, so I gave him a lesson! :wub: If any of you are like me and having trouble, :thumbup:keep the faith! It does pass. :ohmy: I tried hard to always stay up-beat on here and not talk about the bad part, but now I think others may need to be "real"! :whatchutalkingaboutThere really is a "Bandsters Hell" :eek: part for some of us! But it does pass. I wanted to post this, thinking some may feel like "something is wrong with them" if it all wasn't a piece of cake!:crying: "walk in the park." I am sure there will be hard days :scared2:and easy days! :thumbup: I plan to take this journey one day at a time! It is a new life for me and I plan to enjoy it! Good luck to all of us! :thumbup:

Grey, Don't beat yourself up! It will be ok, just try your best to stay away from the food. That is why I started June Bug fishin' :smile: It kept my mind and hands busy. :thumbup: At least part if the time. Your band date is right here now! I will keep you in good thoughts! I know yu will be fine!:thumbup: In about a week your hunger will be a thing of the past! Mine is! I have to remind myself to drink my protein now. I was so hungry right after surgery, but that soon left and I can actually only eat half of a sf popsicle now! I have never thrown food away in my life! :crying:Even when I was very sick! :ohmy: I am down a lot since my pre-op appointment and go for my post op on Friday! Keep thinking about the cute little girl that will emerge! :tongue2:
