Unreal~! I doesn't seem possible that this is the end of June! All of us are banded now and I think several more will join us along the way! :drool: Yes, I do remember all of us thinking our day would never come and being so excited!:drool: Now we are just as excited about getting that first fill. :tt2: I rode my bike with my grandchildren today for over 2 hours! We packed a picnic lunch and went to the "Greenbelt" (an 8 mile bike and walking trail) It was wonderful! And I could make it the entire way! :tt1:Actually, I wore the kids out! My weight loss has stopped completely, but I have lost some inches. I suppose part of the first loss was water from being so dehydrated! I think the loss is pure TRUE fat now! Yes! :frown: I go to the doctor on Wednesday and hope to get a fill, if not I am sure they will schedule it for me.:confused2: I have been off work for two weeks now, due to summer break! I teach for a state vocational college and we go year round, just get lots of breaks.:eek: Anyhow, I plan to walk a lot and maybe even ride my bike at least two days a week. One more thing, My insurance company is Cigna and since I had my surgery a nurse from Cigna has called me and checked on me two times . Asking how I am doing, offering support and telling me how happy they are with my progress and just being very nice in general! I thought that was very good from an insurance company. I am going to be extra good and make this a success for all the others who will need the surgery so Cigna will want to pay for them too! Extra incentive to do good and be successful! Finally, Thanks to all of you for the support and the friendship! It was my pleasure to do the line up! It truly was a labor of love! :drool:

My port site hurt for about 3 weeks, and I thought thatI was going to be deformed cause it was so lumpy there. Now it is almost gone and the site rarely hurts now. Be patient and it will get better! The more you move the sooner you will get better at this point. To begin with it is better to keep that place stable. I would hold it when I got up and down to keep the pressure off. Good luck!

Yes, the straw lets you suck in air and gives you more gas. I love the protein shakes with a straw, but have started to just drink it. The things I had to give up as to loose the straw and stop chewing gum both increase the gas. From what I understand is that the excess gas not only hurts, but it can increase the size of your pouch. The carbonated drinks, ie cokes, alos will increase the size of the stomach pouch. Anyway, hope that helps!

I was told that full liquids were anything that would pass through a straw (but do not use a straw! That is a no-no!) I stuck with Campbell's Soup at Hand and V8 Splash. I didn't do eggs or mashed potatos until the mushie stage. I am now on full foods and about to go crazy cause I need a fill. Good luck to you! PS be sure to check the food and nutrition section. It has the best information.

If I had stitches they were inside. I think they glued me together! My incisions are all healed up! Call you doc, after 2 weeks you should be completely better in the wound areas. Good luck!

I had my surgery on the 6th and I am on regular food now, just adding a little at a time and I can eat anything. I am tracking my food on the reaize band website. I have eaten out a couple of times, mostly at Shoney's on the bar. I have a card that allows me to eat for the child's price $3.99! That is great! :cool2: I have eaten a little of everything and don't have problems as long as I take small bites and chew, chew, chew! I try to stick with balanced meals, eating protein first. I have not lost any more weight though. :smile: I started to exercise more yesterday. Actually rode my bike 5 miles on the Greenbelt trail (paved and level) took about an hour and it felt GREAT!:biggrin2: I know I will need a fill soon as I want to eat like the past and really have to work! I had my surgery on the 6th and I am on regular food now, just adding a little at a time and I can eat anything. I am tracking my food on the reaize band website. I have eaten out a couple of times, mostly at Shoney's on the bar. I have a card that allows me to eat for the child's price $3.99! That is great! :thumbup: I have eaten a little of everything and don't have problems as long as I take small bites and chew, chew, chew! I try to stick with balanced meals, eating protein first. I have not lost any more weight though. :cool2: I started to exercise more yesterday. Actually rode my bike 5 miles on the Greenbelt trail (paved and level) took about an hour and it felt GREAT!:biggrin2: I know I will need a fill soon as I want to eat like the past and really have to work! If I stop eating then the fullness begins and I can stop! :smile:

Here are a few suggestions. Try the Muscle milk and put it with either milk or water and lots of ice in a blender. That is good. Also the protein bullets are ok, but be forewarned they do have the aftertaste. I just hold my nose and drink it down! As fast as I can! I had some tomato soup and it really helps. Use water and it is still good. Good luck, when you get to add mushies and then real food it gets better and better. I am worried now thht I eat too much. I think I am about ready for a fill.
