I am so ready for surgery and June 6 is actually my second date.:thumbup: I was originally scheduled for May 14 (I would be banded by now) I was rescheduled so I can have the new Realize band and Dr Jamie Ponce (a lap band pioneer surgeon) is flying :plane:in to do the surgery with my doctor, Dr. Kramer. Anyway, last Thursday I went to have allergy shots and mentioned to the nurse that I was swelling. :thumbup: My blood pressure was 162/90. I have never had blood pressure problems. It stays around 120/80. I haven t added new medications and no new stress. :thumbup: I went to my PCP today and she did more test, she says I may have congestive heart failure :scared:and will have to postpone my lap band! They did x-rays and a PNP blood test, I will know more on Wednesday. If the tests come back good, I am ok and can have surgery. Please! :pray2:Pray they come back good! :thumbup: For now I am going to stay positive! :thumbup: and believe it is just a little bump in the road!

Me too Jkpenny! :sad: I was doing so good on my low carb diet and then after class tonight, I made the choice to go to Fatz :sad_smile:and get an order of Sullivan's Island shrimp cakes and there were two small bread rolls and hen I had a piece of banana bread! :eek: I am so weak, the least little thing and I eat. I gotta stop this! Glad to know I am not the only one having trouble with the willpower. I will do better tomorrow!

[. Just want to get past that anesthesia! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. In a few days, it will be our month!!:eek: Nice to meet you Mary! I agree that the anesthesia is my biggest fear. I will be happy to wake up! I am on my low carb diet now, But i have been slipping up. :sad: I hope I can do better tomorrow! I have told my 3 sisters, my daughter, my aunt and my boyfriend. A few of my students know (which means the world may know) and that is about it. I haven't told my son or my brothers. I also have not told any of the other instructors at my school or the office staff. I told my boss that I had to have some "female repair" surgery. :tongue2: In my mind, I am having repair surgery. I am repairing my stomach! :biggrin2: I thought about the "gall-bladder' but then I thought, "what if my gall-bladder goes bad, :sneaky: and I do have to have surgery on it. :crying:That can happen after lapband. Most assume I am having a "bladder tuck" for leaking bladder. Sometimes they have to do that over. :scared2: I will tell anyone who ask about my weight loss the truth, cause I agree with the post before, that I want to show others who struggle that their is a way. But for nosey, judgemental people... no thanks.:smile2: I will keep it to myself! :tongue:

It is my pleasure to meet all of you! It warms my heart to read about each of you, I recognize a common thread in each post, :scared2: The desire to live life to the fullest! :tongue2: It is obvious to me that this is a great group and will be very supportive of each other. I am so happy for people like nicholerose getting banded so young! Just think of all the wonderful years you can spend at a normal weight and how much this will change your life! I may very well be the oldest of this group! :smile2: But, I know it will make a significant difference in my life. I will turn 60 in February but I don't feel it and I think I will just get younger and younger! :tongue: My doctor says the thinks I won't have an issue with sagging skin! Sure hope he is right. Anyway, it makes me happy to see so many wonderful bansters this month. They should call it the "Teacher's" month!" Or maybe the "Educator's month". In case you missed my earlier post, I teach business at at Vocational College. :sneaky: I love what I do now, it is my 4th career though. I was an Accounting Clerk, I owned ran a picture frame shop and art gallery, I have been the county family literacy coordinator, and now a college instructor all of this and I was a single mom forever! The children are grown now and I have two grandchildren and one on the way! I look forward to being banded and feeling and looking better! Thanks to all of you for your support and friendship!

Wow, That is great that you got moved up. I would have a problem if they did that to me, as I have had to arrange a sub for my classes. I was originally scheduled for May 14 and got pushed back when my Doctor decided to begin using the new Realize band. He picked me and a man to be the first so we had to wait for the Proctor from the company to be there. But it is worth the wait to have the new band and to have one of the country's top band surgeons do my surgery. Good luck to you! I will watch your progress!

Hello 50s! It has been a few days since I posted on here.:biggrin2: It is 10 days until my surgery and I am getting very excited! I have been on the low carb diet since Friday and am down 5 lbs. :scared2: I am sure part of that is the lasix I have been taking for the fluid build up I had. That is much better now, by the way! Thanks for all your support during that scare. We still don't know what caused it.:confused2: It is such an inspiration to read about everyone's success on here and the good tips! Thanks so much for sharing! This board has kept me sane and informed! And it is so well managed! :smile2:

Yeah!!!! I just noticed I have less than 100 lbs to loose!

Ok! I wrote a big long post on here yesterday and boom, I hit the wrong button and lost it all! :cursing:So, here I am again! Anewkim: What are sleepmelts? Sounds like a sleeping aid? Do I need them? :confused2: I got liquid Tylenol. As for Toliet tongs! :thumbup: I am going to try them. I read on an old post that you are very sore and reaching hurts, so why not listen to experience! My arms and legs are too short for my body right now so I can use all the help I can get! :huh2: I have 10 days left to surgery and I am getting ready. I have my deck all prettied up so I can sit out there and enjoy it. I have a bunch of books, and I will enjoy the quiet to heal. I have been on my low carb diet for 3 days now and I have eaten a few things I didn't think was a good idea, such as Popcorn at Indiana Jones. But it was small and un-buttered, I also had a margarita :tt2:. I did pass up the lemon pound cake, chocolate pie and watermellon that were floating around my house! Memorial day! Plenty of temptations! But, I don't want them to have to do full surgery to get around my liver!:thumbup: I also read that the pre-op diet gets us used to fewer carbs and our with-drawal can be easier :thumbup:. They call that Banster's Hell, :w00t: those second and third days when we want the sugar and carbs and can't get them. So, I will be a good girl and do as the doc requires. I will play it cool!

Hello everyone: I am getting banded on June 6 :lol:and have been reading and posting on this site since February! I am so excited and feel much better prepared for surgery after reading about so many experiences! Good luck to you all! Keep reading and posting. It is the sucess of the people who have been banded that keeps me focused on the positive. I have started my 2 week pre-op diet, which is just low carb, 80-120 gr of carb. I have lost 7 lbs since Friday! That is more than I could loose in a month before. I think it is because I KNOW :thumbup:that this time I am going to be able to keep it off! There is a thread for June 2008 bansters in the Support Group section under 2008! Check it out. I have a thread for the June Line up. I try to put you on this list as soon as I see a new Junie! Thanks to all of you who have asked about my test for the heart. All the test came out normal! We still don't know what caused the Fluid build up, but they don't think it was my heart. I still think it was from steroids they gave me on 3 different occasions over the past year, plus an antibiotic I took and had a reaction to. I have been reading all the post and it seems you are all having the same feelings. I was in a bathing suit today, :ciappa:at my sister's pool (no one there but us) and I imagined what it will be like to feel comfortable in a swimsuit with other people around. Rignt now I look about 8 months pregnant and my thighs look like cottage cheese! I have lost weight in the past, but always gained it back and never very much! I can't believe I have a real shot at being slim and staying there! I don't want to loose too much weight, :coolgleamA:as I am older, and don't have wrinkles now, so I don't want to look older! I will have plastic surgery if I need it... Now isn't that vain.:thumbup: But I figure if I am going to go through surgery and change my eating habits forever, then I will deserve the surgery. I have had my eyelids done alreay and it really makes a difference. OMG! I am really opening up here! Join right in! We will be Band Sisters! :clap:and maybe a Band Brother or two!
