    What about a clothes swap???

No, an admin is above a moderator. Moderators can usually just move posts, delete, edit... maintenance type duties. They also usually have access to forums that no one else can see - for discussing board issues out of the public eye. Admins have full control of the board. They can create forums, setup user groups, disallow/ban, etc. The admin is usually the "owner" and the moderators are the "helpers" that do the day-to-day stuff on the board. Typically the easiest way to get in touch with an admin is througha moderator. :scared: Not sure which mod would be the best to contact for this issue, but we can ask them to "give the message" and find out what the admin would prefer.

    What about a clothes swap???

It's already set up. If everyone was OK with it, we could just get a link to it. It would depend on what the admin is willing to do. She/he may prefer to do their own thing. I've seen it work both ways, so it's just a matter of personal preference.

    Just for laughs

Two posts and your other one was just as insightful. This board can be viewed by minors. You might consider adding an explicit content disclaimer to future posts.

    Anyone bought from Junonia?

Wondering about their quality, and accurate sizing? They carry the elusive "shorts-kini" swimwear I'm a fan of (read: tank top and shorts made of swimsuit material). :ban:

    What about a clothes swap???

I actually have a board built for clothing exchanges - used it when I belonged to an Atkins diet board and sort of "willed" it to them when I left, but I have a clone of it on my home server. If you guys would be interested, it wouldn't take more than an hour or so to get it up & running. Right now it's just like a regular message board, only instead of "general" and "Lounge" it's "Size 28", "Size 26", etc. All of that's 100% changeable and could be made to reflect whatever we wanted... separate "available" areas, "wanted" areas...

    Protein Powders - HELP!!!

I use Isopure PerfectCarb from GNC at $52 per 5# container. THey sell the same thing online for about $28. :straight I also use "Six Star" -- I think it's from Wal-Mart... I told my mom to go buy a Protein powder that meets X requirements so I'll have something there when we visit, and that's what she found. I don't know of many stores that sell single servings, but if you go to ww.wbariatriceating.com you can order single servings for like $1 and change... I think you can order samples of everything they sell. You can use that site to find something you like, then buy it wherever works for you.
  7. My question is -- pop-rocks and Coke? Together? Why? Eww... :scared: Here are some good questions (non-bandster) Why do drive-up ATMs have braille on the keypad? If nothing sticks to Teflon, how does Teflon stick to the pan? What color does a Smurf turn if it's choking? Why do we drive on the parkway, but park on the driveway? A stitch in time saves nine what? Crime doesn't pay... does that mean my job is a crime? What do they use to ship styrofoam? Are part-time band leaders semi-conductors? Was the pole vault accidentally discovered by a clumsy javelin thrower? Are you breaking the law if you drive past those road signs that say "Do Not Pass"? "Honesty is the best policy" but "The truth hurts." So is pain good? What happens if you're scared half to death - twice? What happens to an 18 hour bra after 18 hours? Do vegetarians eat animal crackers? Do you think that when they asked George Washington for ID that he just whipped out a quarter? How come wrong numbers are never busy?
  8. Actually, nothing. MythBusters handled that one. :scared: When in doubt, check out www.snopes.com. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/freakish/poprocks.htm

    This waiting is hard.

The waiting is terribly hard. In late January I got my date for March 1 and was soooo disappointed that my surgeon didn't have availability in Feb. That month might as well have been a year. It took forever... for the first week or so, then it just became one more thing I'm waitig for, and before I knew it surgery was just two weeks away, then it was just Wednesday, then it was just tomorrow... before you know it you'll be there.

True Love? How do you know?

Ok, forgive the OT interruption, it won't continue... and I hate to be the village idiot, but what are those? I've never heard of them... at least not by that name.

    Passport needed??

Dang, our cruise was in 95 so I wasn't sure I was remembering that correctly. Looked it up for you:
  12. Wheetsin

    Passport needed??

Wait, I take that back... it was a passport OR original state certified birth certificate and driver's license (or state issued ID).
  13. Wheetsin

    Passport needed??

Passport, driver's license... state certified birth certificate... two of those should do. That's what you need to cruise from the US into Mexico, and what we needed last time we drove across the border (granted it was a while ago).
  14. I'm going to be placing an order for some DaVinci sugar-free syrups, 750ml bottle (imagine a standard wine bottle size). If I order 12 or more I can get them for $7.25 each shipping included. In stores they retail between $12 and $15. I know I will order at least 4 or 5, so if anyone else would want any, this would be a great way to save some $$. If I can get a larger order than 12, I may be able to negotiate for an even lower rate. I'm in Kansas City, MO so we'd need to arrange pick-ups (or if you're a patient of Dr. Hoehn's I could bring them to the next support group meeting). Available SF flavors are: Amaretto B-52 banana Blueberry Butter Rum Butterscotch Caramel Cherry chocolate Coconut Cola Cookie Dough Creme de Menthe Dulce de Leche Egg Nog English Toffee French vanilla German Chocolate Cake Gingerbread Grape Green Apple Hazelnut Huckleberry Irish Cream Lemon Lime Macadamia Nut Malibu Rum pancake Syrup Peanut Butter Peppermint Paddy pineapple Praline Raspberry Red Hot Cinnamon Root Beer Simple Syrup Spice Blend Toasted Hazelnut Toasted Marshmallow Vanilla Watermelon White Chocolate Let me know if you're interested, I'm running low and will probably be ordering in the next 2 weeks.

What size do you want to be?

I've love to see a 14/16 again, but I'd be happy with an 18/20. I'm between 5'10 and 5'11 so those are pretty good sizes for me. 18/20 maybe a little more chubbier than my "ideal" - but a heckuva lot better than where I started. <EDIT add to> (edit to add) I started at a tight 32. I'm now in a loose 28. I can close my 26s but I get muffin top!
  16. Wednesday I will roll into my 6th week post-op. I still have no appetite. My highest daily calorie intake is around 600. Most days I'm around 400. I don't have any noticeable restriction -- I also don't have any noticeable appetite. I'm satisfied after just a few bites. Water, Protein drinks, or a few bites of food will completely fill me up for hours. Sounds like restriction, right? But on the rare occasion that I've been hungry enough to eat larger portions, I can with no problem and no restriction, so I can't chalk it up to that. I feel fine, I have healed quicky & well, and I have no problems with energy, but I know this intake is not ideal nonetheless. In order to get more calories...I can eat when I'm not hungry - which I don't want to do. I've started mixing some fruit juices (whole juices - I hage a juicer - not store bought/sugary juices) to my Protein Drinks, added a higher calorie protein, etc. I've talked to the nutritionist & nurse for my program about this. The nutritionist was alarmed and thought I should be eating way more considering no fill, but had no real suggestions - though she did want me to call her Friday if my appetite hasn't increased by then... she said sometimes it can return overnight. The nurse seemed like she had heard it 100 times and told me that as long as I'm getting my Calcium & protein, I'll be fine. I'm scheduled for a fill Friday and will also discuss this with my surgeon then. If anyone else went through this, did you manage to add more calories? When did your appetite return?
  17. Water is a liquid, so when you're on the liquid diet, there's technically no difference between drinkin water or drinking broth... hence you don't need to wait x time before drinking water after you drink broth. HTH!

    Pb?

The slime is your body's way of trying to "lubricate" a blockage. As for what's a PB, search - you'll find HUNDREDS of explanations and details. Or see this thread.

    Airplane seat bellt's size?

It, as well as seat size, varies by airline. Southwest - I have to exhale the very Fiber of my being in order to get the belt buckled. Midwest - buckled with room to spare. Look at http://www.seatguru.com/ They have data by airline/plane on seating size, good seats/bad seats (which armrests don't go up, which have extra room taken by a console tray, etc.). Great site & resource for the plus size traveler!

    Mushies??????

Rosarita "Chile and Lime" refried beans with a bit of tobasco, red sauce, and sour cream. Canned chicken breast w/ a bit of mayo, crumbled feta cheese, greek seasoning, and tomato juice. Baked sweet potato with a bit of butter (I use the FF spray) and brown sugar (can substitute brown Sugar Twin). Cauliflower boiled until it's mushy, mixed with parmesan, sour cream, garlic and onion powder, topped with a little cheddar and baked like a potato casserole. Guacamole (pretty much what JessieBear described) Eggs, egg casseroles Pudding, applesauce, flavored applesauces (the Granny Smith one is yummy, and no sugar added)

    Isopure

$52 at our GNC, about $28 online. Guess which I paid for. Here's my tip for Isopure. Mix it with some kind of milk, even FF, and add flavoring. Mixing it as-is with Water... uh-uh. The chocolate Isopure w/ Peanut Butter mixed in is great. I'm also a fan of vanilla with SF Kahlua flavoring added... blend with some ice and it's a virgin mudslide. :huggie:
  22. I believe there are three who do fills in the KC area, but I don't know their names. I do know they're mentioned on OH... and I think you find surgeon by city/state there. My surgeon is near KC in Shawnee Mission, KC - about 20 minutes past downtown. I do not know if he fills other surgeon's bands or not. You can call and ask - I don't have his number off-hand but I know it's on the website, www.kcbariatric.com.

    Pb?

I had a PB post-op before a fill. Whether or not it happens to someone will depend on their anatomy. The band itself, without fill, does provide some restriction - how much depends on the size of your organs and the inside diameter of the band. In addition to that, post-op swelling can cause more restriction because it's that much more mass to fit in an ungrowing space.

True Love? How do you know?

DH and I met when I was on a trip to another country. We were over 6,000 miles apart. We visited when we had time, I was trying to finish college and he was working full-time, and when we couldn't visit we got by on $1200 phone bills. By all rationale we shouldn't even have known the other existed, but over the span of about 3 years we managed to fall in love. Part of it for me was asking myself, "Could my life ever be this happy without him in it? Could I be with someone else and feel like this?" and only being able to answer "no", and knowing that was the most honest answer -- not disguised by my fears, or rationalizing, or protective walls, but truly the most sincere answer. I can also say that love for us didn't happen at the same. In his own words, he "fell for me like a ton of bricks." We got really close really fast, but I was more governed by the distance, impracticality, etc. and a little more reserved with what I put on the table -- because I knew we'd have some pretty tough odds to overcome, but we did "click" immediately and hard. The visit I met him on was a 3 month stay, and before I left he asked me to consider staying & moving in with him. When he realized that wasn't really an option, he asked me to "wait" for him -- not date anyone else until we had a chance to meet again and find out if there was really anything there or not. He said he was not going to date anyone else, and was afraid of losing me to someone else before he and I could really see what was there. How could I not fall in love and marry that?
