BTW, there's problem hair areas, and there's hirsutism. Have you ecer spoken with a doctor about it? Hirsutism can be a symptom of other conditions.
-
It can be related to being overweight (which impcts hormones). I believe that once the hair's there, it's there (unless you do something to remove it). In other words, losing the weight won't make the hair go away.

Great (and even medicore) accessorizers - need your input

Thanks for all the opinions! All three are evening weddings. The first is an early evening wedding. We're slated to be seated at 5. It will be a longer ceremony. I don't know all the details, but the groom is military and the military does it's own to-do for weddings... I guess. -
Who is she? (I'm missing something)

Hmm. two issues off-hand. One would be the validity o the study (we always question that, don't we?) and the other would be their criteria for "lesbian." I firmly believe that people are born homosexual. I also believe that others are conditioned to homosexuality. In either instance, there is a lot of emotional baggage involved. Emotional baggage and obesity have a way of going hand in hand (you can look at professions that tend to "attract" people with emotional baggage and see much, much higher rates of obesity). But one could argue that obesity and poverty do as well. That certainly would never prove that lesbians are more likely to be impoverished than hetersexuals.

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

We're in Northeast KC near Liberty. Kind of right in the middle between Worlds of Fun and KCI. I like the KC Masterpiece sauce (though I prefer spicier sauces), but I was really disappointed in their food, and I've heard the same thing from others. Although I will say they have the BEST onion strings. -
Not sure if this is for me...

Are you wanting insurance to cover you, or will you be self pay? I've not heard that you can never have coffee or soda. Coffee isn't on my list of nos, I just don't care for it. They advise against soda, no problem, gave it up without a second thought. And for every surgeon I hear of that says "no", I hear of another that says "yes" (in moderation). I don't know, how bad does it sound? Is it just the "no coffee no soda" that makes it sound so bad to you? Mental health is part of a good band program. But you know the answer to this better than we can. Only you know the grip and power that food has on you, and whether or not you're able to break you rbehaviors or find other outlets for your emotions. Do YOU think this is what you need to lose weight? Do YOU think dieting will work? Do YOU think that seeking a therapist will help you overcome your issues with food for good? Every meal I eat is a good meal. I don't eat enough to eat bad food. When you're only eating the amount we eat, you tend to demand that it be good quality. I eat much much higher quality foods now than I did pre-band. -
The standard for calculating BMI is (weight in pounds*703)/height in inches squared. You can also visit online calculators like this one. Your BMI registers as 32.8. Unless you have two or more significant medical issues related to your weight, you're probably going to have a tough time getting insurance to cover your surgery.

Missy - who is banding you? Where in the KC area are you? We're nprobably neighbors. Though normally if I hear Jack Stack, the next few words are "cheesy corn." The people at work go nuts over it. (I don't really like BBQ, though I do enjoy the very occasional Gates). BJean - I just think the wife should be prettier than the husband. I spend about 15 mins on Sunday evening keeping the brows in check, and give myself a full pedi every 2 weeks. I think it would just bug me if my husband could claim better stats. -
You've just described my "something's stuck" pain. It starts in my abdomen, moves to my hips, and then really settles in my spine right between my shoulderblades. I too have been extra tight the last few days, to the point where I was sliming over a single swallow of Protein drink today. That hasn't happened since I had an unfill (after being filled too tight). I'm guessing it has to do with the weather... it has been getting warmer, humidity has been higher. Overall I'm puffier so it makes sense that I'd be puffier inside too. I'm super tight about a week before TOM. Any chance yours is coming up?
-
Really??? That sucks. BTW, if you don't know, Dr. H no longer does the fills. There's now a (forget the title, Robyn knows it, something higher than a nurse) who does all the fills, and like a nurse or something who accompanies him. Mine was rough. It's the first time since I said "no numbing" that a fill hurt. And took a while to find the port. I had to confirm he was in the right place for him. Hopefully it's just because he was new (I assume new to fills). Dr. H had "that touch" that made it quick and painless. I have only had one fill sense, but I already miss having him do them.

Mmmm... morrels... My dad makes them yummy. Something like an overnight saltwater bath, then a very light dusting in flour and a fry in butter.

I should clarify smtg, because I think my post came across differently than I meant for it to. I'm not worried about looking perfect or stealing the show. I'm more worried about not looking ridiculous and making a very conscious effort to avoid being "over the top" or the unintentional center of attention because I'm overdressed or too "blingy". I'm normally very confident in most things I do, very independent, but I've been asking opinions left and right for this. The last wedding I went to was mine, 10 years ago. I went to some before that, but I was either thin and it came easy, or a thin bridesmaid and told what to wear. I always avoided weddings when I gained the weight (and crowds of all sorts). So I guess this is more of a "keep it in check" post. Keep me from being ridiculous and unintentionally making it seem as though I'm trying to steal the attention, because the spotlight is my worst nightmare. With that said, here are some pics. I stopped by DSW on the way home to get some sandals, and saw some really cute shoes. I'm an addict, what can I say. So the ones pictures are the new ones, not what's described above. he dress w/ flash, the dress in natural light (shows the lay of the fabric better), the shoes. -

I think some things have changed. I think many of them make our society better. Things like racism and discrimination based on sexual orientation -- still exist, but I'm so glad that I live in a time where they are no longer tabboo. I do believe (agree) that some things will always be tabboo, and rightfully so - IMO. I don't think I'd ever want to see a day where I could run down to the corner grocery store and buy a leg of Larry or Chriskabob for dinner. As for the not so nice stuff, I think we see more of it than we did 30 years ago. We also have a lot more people than we did 30 years ago, so statistically we have to expect to see more (worldwide population has grown more than 50% in the last 30 years). But I'm certainly not saying that's the culprit. We also see parents playing different roles, and society in general playing a much different role. With that, and all of the things it touches, I think people are generally much different than they were. I believe you have to be a different "kind" of kid to make it today than when I was a kid. And everything that has to change is going to have an effect on something else. I know that when I was a kid, living in one of of country's most populated cities (in the top 10) there was never an issue with walking or riding bikes to the grocery store, or walking to/from school, going to the park at night, etc. If I were a parent today, there's no way I would be as comfortable letting my child do that as my parents (and my friends' parents) were then. -
Inamed currently has three bands available. The first measurement is cm which is the band's length, and the second is cc which is its Fluid capacity. 9.75cm - 4cc 10cm - 4cc 11cm - 10cc There are other bands available but I do not have a lot of information on them. There is also a J&J band but I'm not sure of its specs, or whether or not it's even through FDA yet.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

The longer sigs haven't edited. I believe it's set up so that once you edit it, it has to conform to the new shorter length. IMO - the shorter length is a good thing. You could get your current info into the new length, just put the same type of information on one line dileneated by commas, slashes, asterisks - something like that. Blank lines (of which you have many) all count as a line of text, as do lines with forced breaks.

Very cute! I would miss the longer hair in the summer. Sounds odd, eh? But true. I've had very long hair in the summer (to my waist), and very short hair (off the neck). The long hair was much, much easier. It could just be put up in a french twist or messy bun or even a french braid. Wake up, comb, up, and go. The short hair had to be washed and styled. I have curly hair and my curls always go messy overnight.

MBTI and weight loss
Wheetsin replied to jbtullis's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
<p><p> MBTI is very accurate. People can test differently, but will very very rarely have completely different types. When I test, for example, there are two areas where I'm consistently 100%, but one area where I will flop back and forth. That's largely because it's possible for people to be borderline between two areas. This is really evident if you observe people being tested - you will watch them edit their thoughts, so to speak, go back and try to change answers, etc. as they think more and more about it. (To this end, it's important to go with your gut instinct. If you don't, there's a tendency to try and manipulate the outcome to better reflect what you want your type to be Function pairs can really give away someone's type. Meaning - observing the behaviors of their functional pairs. (Function pairs is the pairing of the two middle letters. For example, I'm an INTJ and my function pair is NT. You can observe people in passing - peoplewatching at the mall, for example, and as long as you know what you're looking for, identify most people very accurately. There's just not much deviance. Most teambuilder type settings where some variant of the MBTI is used don't get into the real meat. They talk about the 4 letter types, and maybe how to flex to work best with other types, and that's about it. But there's a whole little science behind letter paoirings, external vs. internal modes, etc. Why we flex in some areas (e.g. get different results if we take the test more than once), why we're constant in others, etc. If you're interested, this link provides a good overview. -
Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Wheetsin replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
Are you saying heterosexuality is a choice? Wtf would anyone choose to be hetero?! I wish my husband were a little more stray at times, but not metrosexual. 400ct Pima, my favorite! -
The post is sharing a website, it is not condoning a practice, spamming another URL, tricking anyone into blindly following a link, etc. As stated, and as the posts have ensued, it's fair game for RnR. Many topics around sex and deviate practices have taken place here. This really isn't that different.
