My pre-op diet is officially blown
Firecallie replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Spyder you're right, thank you for the advice. Thanks Shari for the list and everyone else for the encouragement. I am going to do this the right way today. -
You are all fantastic, thank you so much. The more I read the less nervous I become. Goodluck on your surgery starrlighter! Let us know how everything turns out! Jini

I'm worried, i've heard alot about people getting depressed after surgery or regret that they have gotten the band and all of that. How common is that? How common are mood swings and what not? I'm nervous, my biggest fear right now is regret... My second biggest fear is going back to work and my attitude affecting my job. I teach 1st grade and so pissy is not really an option for me. *Gasp* Help.

This is so good to hear and it is reassuring. I think I just have to expect it and realize it is coming and work hard to keep everything in perspective (perhaps a list of why i want to get this done is in order...). It's just frightening because I have never had surgery and here I am opting for this life changing (for the better) procedure.

Laura, that is SO GOOD TO KNOW! I have only had a chicken sandwinch today. So that could count as my 1 small meal. I was/am so worried. I think alot of it is simply nerves but still...THANK YOU FOR THAT -
My pre-op diet is officially blown

See my doctors packet told me it was to shrink my liver. My doctor when i expressed to him how hard this was going to be basically said "it is to speed up your weight loss". Could it be because I am only 212 lbs that it's not VITAL and I haven't completely screwed up with the chicken sandwinch? -
That is awesome! Congratulations, i'm getting banded on Friday and hope to have that luck!

My pre-op diet is officially blown

Thanks guys...i'll do better, i went and got out of the house so I would not eat anything else and that helped. I just need to keep my mind off of it, because i suddenly get nervous about doing this and wonder if it will all be worth it, and I know the answer to that already. -
Today was insane. I suspected for awhile that my friends might know that I was going to get this done, but I didn't tell them or even hint at it in anyway. They just kept on saying things that clued me in. Well today she finally told me that they knew that I was getting this done. I was MORTIFIED, and scared. I live for her approval almost, she means the world to me. But she was SO GREAT. She told me that she wished that I wouldn't but she supported me know matter what I chose to do. She even went shopping with me on my preop diet and offered to take off of work to be with me the day of surgery. And her boyfriend, my other friend said that he wouldn't hate me if I got this done and that means alot to me also. He was great, he's really into biking and told me that i should go and he would help me also and we did and i rode about 8 or 9 miles around the lake(almost died but it was fun)! Well I just had to post it, it made me feel really good to know that they would love me no matter what. Yay for good friends, and an awesome support board!

Chicken and Stars soup does not correlate with liquid diet
Firecallie replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have just decided i'm going to hit this thing running. I am going to see how much weight I can lose before surgery on Friday. Is 10 pounds realistic? If so that's my goal. Today i'm going out and buying bottles of water, and boullion cubes, and vitamins, and gatorade and jello, anything that I need to get through this liquid phase and get started on my new life I have chosen for myself. I am deciding to take charge, to make this work for me, instead of me trying to work around it. It's crazy that i'm sitting here trying to cheat already with soup...its not going to happen. Today is the first day of my WL journey and i'm going to make it a great one! -
Can you eat it or not

Karen, I was in there around 3:30. You're right blonde hair, didn't have money for parking, there was a plano teacher and her friend in the waiting room, and right after I got there someone was called in that I didn't get a chance to talk to. Haha, how funny is that.

I was in Dr. Jay's office on Wednesday, my surgery's the 18th. I really liked him as well. Congratulations!

Give yourself some time. It sucks right now, but give yourself a month. Try to accept that it is in there for at least a month and can always come out given a bit more time has passed and see if in that time you come to appreciate it. The pain will subside and the scaryness of having it in you, and maybe, you just might make it start working for you. Lots of love, we are here for you if you need to vent or freak out. Think positive, it helps

My mother smoked for 40 years...then quit with the Nicotene patches, but found out last week that she has lung cancer, please try to quit, if not for you than for your kids and their future. I don't know what i'm going to do if I lose my mom...
