wantolose155 started following Guess Whatttttt????, My first fill, What food/drink do you miss the most? and and 7 others
-
Well, after almost 2 months today was the day for my first fill. She said they usually do 4 cc the first time(in a 14 cc band) but due to my previous problems when I was sick, she thought we should be conservative, she even said I could fore-go the fill because I was still not hungry between meals, but was eating closer to a cup. We agreed on 1 cc, I sat there drinking my water in the office like instructed when around 15 minutes or so it started to get “uncomfortable” to drink water, I thought it was in my head so waited a few extra minutes and then just tried swallowing my own salvia, didn’t work. I went back into the room and she took out .5 I felt like a real baby, holy cow I must be super sensitive! So it’s been a few hours and I am sipping away, back to my lovely liquids for 2 days and then soft for 2 before I go regular again.. I am down 44 lbs though (haven’t lost anything in a few weeks) but she said I was doing fine and not to stress about not losing that at least I wasn’t gaining, I have also lost 6.5” off my waist YEA ME!!

Erik in AZ - Newly Banded - Introduction
wantolose155 replied to ErikMesa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi ERik.. I was also banded by dr nirmul on 2-25. Welcome to banland. I also live in Mesa, my next appt is 4-21 for my 1st fill, I saw them yesterday but I have some swelling still due to a virus that made me violently cough for a couple weeks so I just recently started food again (YUM) and we decided to not get a fill for a little while longer. I am still eating small amounts and not to hungry, so I am relieved to wait. If you ever want to carpool, pm me, I usually go in the mornings, less traffic. Tammy:smile2: -

I had surgery with dr nirmul on 2-25-08 and he was great, I had to call him a few times and he is GREAT and returning phone calls on off times...saw him yesterday as a matter of fact. I haven't had problems with his office so far, and I was also sent to heartcare and you are right they are the BEST doctors office I have EVER been too, very comforting and helpful. -
the docs office nutrionists says no to those foods, maybe I should speak to the doc directly..thanks for your replies

What food/drink do you miss the most?
wantolose155 replied to Officeslave's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I miss my java chip frappucinos from starbucks, a VERY expensive not good daily habit, no wonder I was FAT! -
I read about everyone eating all these different things, and I myself am CRAVING a salad with lotsa fresh vegies. But I was told no raw vegies or salad ever again, no fresh fruit except bananas, no nuts, no bacon, pepperoni, no luncheon meats, no popcorn, no granola, no seeds, no melted cheese, no Pasta. I am saddened to hear this. I thought I would be able to eat vegies, I have yet to have my first fill and have had salad, but was told not again...why is that? If I can eat it with no problems than why not? Any ideas?

Guess Whatttttt????
wantolose155 replied to shaunni78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
awesome! great feeling isn't it? Keep up the good work! -
Well, monday proved to be to much finally, I got to the point I couldn't swallow my own spit (I had posted earlier about the violent coughing possibly swelling my stomach and getting tighter) called the surgeon, told him of my dilema, he told me to come and and get unfilled (even though I haven't been filled yet, he said there is still Fluid in there) I showed up did the "fill pose" and I am still tender around that area considering I was banded recently and she attempted to find the port..a couple of ouches from me and she numbed me, after that was alot better, she said she removed a tiny amount of fluid and tons o bubbles.. I was able to sip on Water after anf they put me back on liquids for 3 days and then 3 days of mushies, I actually was on regular food for a whole 3 days before this happened. I still feel very tight, water is a chore to get down, it still feels like it's having a hard time going down, they don't seem to worried about it, like I do. I will be calling them again tomorrow if I still fill the same in the morning, I realize I am probably still swollen, and I am still coughing violently, but not as much. Being sick sucks! being tight witrhout being filled is rough... I think I am going to ask for a test to see if any damage was done with all this coughing it just doesnt feel right still, but could be swelling good news is I am down 37 lbs on my scale now!

didn't throw up but sure felt like I was going too...just violent coughing, I hate to bother him on Easter sunday I will stick with liquids and call him in the am -
I was banded 2-25-08 all has been progressing nicely until the last few days. I got this "virus" that is going around and have been "hacking" up a lung literally, the regular doctor says rest, liquids, formula 44 for cough and congestion, I have hacked so much that my chest is sore, back is sore and now I feel SUPER tight, liquids only tight, did I do damage to my band or just irritate my stomach/band from all the violent coughing and hacking, I love my band I don't want to lose it! Thanks
