I am 4'11 and no problems for me at all
-
I am not trying to be rude but I really cant follow your post honey- if you were asking a question I am not sure what it was, but if you are a size 4 ?? Are you at goal in less than 3 months!? What did you start out at and exactly what are you eating? Is english a second language for you? Good luck and congrats on your weight loss! Jill

I too try to keep my carbs on the lower side, I am usually around 75 but I think that is still too much. I would love to get around 40 too. I am also worried about calcium and I do take supplements but feel bad if I dont drink an 8 oz glass of milk every day. I also try to keep my fiber up and bad carbs down. Milk is probably the worst carb I eat. But I am losing weight very very slowly. I did drop down 3 more pounds this week and I exercise like crazy-- honestly sometimes I regret the band and wish I opted for bypass b/c of my severe insulin resistance and it being so difficult to lose weight. I only take in 600-800 cal/ day. Then I think about all the complications of the bypass and the fact I dont have a tool if I start to regain it back in a few years and with the band I do have a tool. So it is much much harder work with the band and I feel like I do alot of it on my own. Most of the time I am happy but when I see my bypass friends-- wow they drop the weight with pretty much no effort on their own part including they NOT exercising. ( i do like to exercise though so I would be doing it either way) I am so glad our group is into the exercise. I also would be interested in hearing the daily menu's of you all losing well! Jill

I like the one "I beat anorexia!" =)

oh yea Are we going to start a Dec in March thread or keep going here??
-
Well it is march 1st I did not quite meet my feb goal of 20 exercise sessions I made it to 15 I couldnt go some of the time b/c of my car and the weather. It's time to make a March goal!! Mine is going to be 10lbs off in March! This will put me in ONEderland! I now think I have a good fill- things are getting stuck mostly b/c I eat too fast so I am working on slowing down. I am also going to count calories for a while so I will KNOW exactly where I am at cal/protein and carb wise. So what are the March goals!?!

I signed up too. My 4 year and 2 year are going to do it.

Wow- what a great site! I really would like to help my surgeon develop his baratric program as I think he is good, but he is just really new at doing them, only about 2 years or so. He is a general surgeon also. His program needs help, but I dont know how to go about approaching it with him.

Gagging on breathing tube post-op?
jillrn replied to hopeful07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually Steph they cant just take it out -- It depends on the situation and from what it sounds like here the paralytic was still on board (we usually give a reversal agent) and the anethesia was wore off. (pain med/ sleeper) If the tube is taken out when you are awake but still paralysed than you cant breath and that of course is bad! =) Sorry you woke up hopeful I guess they should have reversed you sooner! -
I got my 3rd fill today only .2cc so now I am up to 2cc total doesnt seem like it will do much good but we will have to see. I get fills for free for the first 90 days so I am about out of time. I will hopefully squeeze one more in before the 90 days if this isnt enough. I have lose 5.5 lbs since I was to see him 2 weeks ago. He thought it was good. I am so impatient though! Nat -- I agree tell him if he asks. Is this still the youth pastor guy or someone else I forget (sorry)
-
Well I go back to my dr tomorrow and I am hopeing for a slight 3rd fill I know I dont need much more but I am still able to eat too much and weight loss if very slow! Jill

Yea we are sorta snowed in up here too not real bad but I have a long driveway and it is out in the country no one plows out here very often. I also live in Amish country so it is mostly horse and buggies anyway. our 4x4 truck got out but both of my cars broke dh fixed one last night not sure if he will get the other one done soon or not. I felt sooo bad for him- he was outside fixing that car in the cold dark last night till midnight for 7pm. 5 hours in the freesing cold- I took him hot choc and told him to come in for a while he said he didnt want me to be without a car with the kids. It was sweet so I gave him an extra special Valentines day present last night (expensive cologne) and another present this morning I think he enjoyed better! =) What are you getting your Valentine's??

Good for you bexlaygal-- See it does work!! =) I am sure glad you survived I would have felt terrible if you didnt! LOL It's hard though but the more I think about it even preband sometime I didnt feel full after a large meal or not for very long. I just have to learn some self control while using my band tool!
-
Well I think I do have pretty good restriction and at first it seemed like I was eating a sm amt and I was not full but I had this feeling like no more could go down but it wasnt like the painful stuck feeling (had that b4 too) I still felt hungry and I only ate a little bit. But I made myself stop and after a few minutes I felt better-- satisfied! I think we have to remember we dont have to feel full- there is nothing wrong with just being satisfied. We have to learn to be satisfied without getting full. I have been doing this and it is working well for me. BUT you may need more of a fill too I am not sure.
-
Well girls the scale started to move again- this fill is much better that number 1. I think I am at a good spot we will see what 2 weeks brings! Nat- bummer he was a no show! Glad you enjoyed yourself

Sometimes we get what I call "the baratric look" when the face slims way down and the body is still plump. It seems like most of us lose in the face first or maybe in is just the part of our body that is always visible unlike our belly, legs etc. Since it is the part people see the most it is most noticeable the rest of the plump parts will catch up and I bet people will stop saying it.
-
hmm Let us know what you find out. Are you short of breath?? It really could be trapped gas and that is what I hope it is. They blow your belly up with air to see around in there during the operation. The air can disapate in some weird places. I do think it is worth checking out though. Have you had any pain in your legs or soreness in calves??
-
Brandi-- Awesome girl you are working that band! Good job! I cant wait to be down 40lbs thanks for the inspiration. Steph- what a beautiful home! I love that rustic look! I love the fireplace too!

I just got my second fill and I am starting to feel some restriction I think. It is taking me a while to eat stuff and I got some tuna slightly stuck I felt a lump and small amt of pressure then it went down in a matter of a few seconds. But that isnt what restriction feels like or is it?? I really didnt feel "full" I did feel satisfied, but an 1.5-2 hours later I am hungry again. I wasnt drinking either with the meal. Is it normal to feel hungry that fast? Do people with the proper fill really stay full for a 3-4 hours?? I am doing protein first etc. trying for follow the rules thanks Jill

Banded on Thursday and cried yesterday
jillrn replied to lapband4meNOW's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What you are feeling is very normal. Give yourself 3-4 months and reeval how you feel. This is a huge change, just think about the great quality of life you will have once this weight is off! ((((HUGS))))))) hang in there girl we are there for you! Jill -
Beth- I have the same problem with feeling hungry 2 hours later sometimes less than 2 hours. I ve posted about it and I have been told it is common. I am also told that I shouldnt eat inbetween meals but my SIL who had baratric surg states she eats 5-6 small meals a day and it works better. Of course all we can really eat is small meals. I think we are going to have to find what works for us as an indivdual. I hate being hungry after an hour.
-
Do you need to live in NC to do it???
-
I think I feel restriction! I did not eat very much today. And I could feel somethings sticking but then they go down. It was taking me a long time to eat and then I would be hungry like 1.5-2 hours later. I didnt drink with the meals either. ?!?
