I have a problem with my band!!

Hi Tracy, I was banded Decemeber of 07. I had lost just over 20 pounds when I started losing all restriction and I started gaining weight. That was in May of 08. Then each time I went to get a fill I had no Fluid in the band. They discovered that my port had a leak and I had to go in for surgery to have port replacement. I had to wait about 5 weeks for surgery and gained 10 pounds waiting for the port replacement! My port replacement was 7/18/08. I got my first fill last week and I am finally getting back to losing weight! I was so frustrating having a complication and having to wait so long for the surgery and not being able to control myself from eating crap! Now I am trying to get off the extra weight I gained! I totally understand how you feel. Did you have the surgery yet?
  4. I live in Shelton, just outside of Olympia. I am about 45 minutes from Olympia. I had my surgery with Dr. Neal in Olympia at Pacific Surgical and Weight Loss Center. He is incredible. He has extremely positive reviews and credetials. It was great working with him and he office is like a family! Most of them are banded as well. Check out their site at Pacific Surgical I got so tired of liquids too! I just had my first fill and had to go back to liquids for 2 days, it went fast though! Keep your chin up, it'll be over soon and you can move on to the next phase!

    Soreness

I was banded 12/28/07 and I am still sore at the end of the day and when I bend certain ways. The Dr. said it's normal. Boy, I sure didn't realize how much I used those stomach muscles until I had the surgery! But, each day gets a bit better and then you get the start eating again and life gets more normal. I definately went through the "what in the world have I done to myself" phase. About the first 3 days. I was a self pay and that made if even worse, I was like, I paid how much for this? What was I thinking? I am three weeks post op now and doing much better. Hang in there, it gets better, soon!

    Seattle newbie

Hi, I live in Shelton, just past Olympia. I was banded on 12/28/07 by Dr. Neal in Olympia. I feel for ya, the first two weeks were definately my hardest. Uncomfortable, emotional and unable to eat. I didn't have to do the pre-op diet so I ate up until the night before surgery. I am in the "bandster hell" phase right now! I was so glad to read your repliers post, made me feel better. I get my first fill on Thursday the 24th, I'm nervous. I can eat about a cup and half of food right now and I'm pretty full, but I haven't lost any weight in the last week. I've lost 15 since surgery and haven't gained any back yet, thank goodness! Oh, a couple of suggestions that got me through the liquid phase, sugar free Jello, blended cream of broccoli soup (the kind from Safeway) mmmm. Blended chili with sour cream and cheese in it, that was good too. I ate lots of yogurt too. Hoping you're doing well, each day gets a little better. ~Wendy 231/216/140 banded 12/28/07 Dr. Neal, Olympia, WA

    Request from Olympia, please....

Hi, I live in Shelton, WA. I just joined this site last night. I was banded on 12/28/07 by Dr.Neal and he was awesome. The whole office is. I was a self pay, my insurance EXCLUDES anything related to weight, yeah, they suck. Anyhow, check out Dr. Neal's site: Pacific Surgical , I have been very happy with them! 231/216/140 12/28/07 Dr. Neal Olympia, WA
  8. Wow! My Dr. gave me 4 "stages" that I had to follow, liquids, then mushies, then soft food, then slowly introducing other foods and always remember to chew, chew, chew your food. I am still in the mushies, now going to the soft foods, so far so good. They told me it was so I could heal properly not to lose weight. And it wasn't Clear Liquids, I could put stuff in the blender too, like soups, etc. I am still taking it easy and I love to have mashed potatoes with gravy, soups with finely crushed crackers and pastas with lots of sauce. I've been banded for 3 weeks now and have lost 15 pounds, first fill is next week. Weight Loss Tickers
  9. Hi, I was banded on 12/28/07 and just signed up to LapBankTalk.com hoping to meet some local bandsters and more importantly read some experiences and get additional insperation! I was a self pay patient, my insurance ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT cover anything related to it. I am hoping that will give me even more motivation to continue this journey. I am just now getting into eating more solid foods and trying more things. I've lost 15 pounds so far and have my first fill on the 24th, which I'm getting a bit nervous about. Weight Loss Tickers

Can only sleep on my back

I had my surgery on 12/28/07 and I am still having pain and still am unable to sleep on my stomach or side (for very long). I did call my Dr. and they said it was normal and should get better soon. Weight Loss Tickers
