    Truly accurate nutritional tracking app?

CRON-O-Meter is a very good one. Available both as app and on the web.

    Food Before and After Photos

The problem is that not the head physicians are hiring staff.

    Food Before and After Photos

I doubt. The two other head physicians were more like "This won't work!" than anything else anyway. In the end this will hopefully be much-a-do-about-really-much, at least this is what I'm hoping for. Anyway, we demanded a simulation, i. e. a whole month's schedule WITHOUT violating the law regarding allowed maximum working time (including vacation time problems and maybe one person being sick) - ever single of these plans will crumble down like a house of cards!

    Food Before and After Photos

One of the head physicians (there are three of them for three different radiology sub-departments) talked about the planned possible new versions of the on-duty-schedule and all of them SUCK!!! making it worse for us so we gave him our quite strong opinions on this for about an hour this very morning during the meeting. We need 2 to 3 more coworkers, ideally already being able to do 24 h shifts - but even if not, they'll still be helpful during the daytime. Several people went away and nobody came for them so of course there're problems now! Give us more manpower again and the problems will be solved! Seriously, it's not that hard to understand.

Awful looking but yummy. Rice, kidney beans, chick peas, tomato sauce and fake parmesan (nutritional yeast and cashews). Could only eat a few bites. I'm still fuming because the **** like really hit the fan at work today (so literally everyone is fuming).

    1400 calories for maintenance

Nobody can tell what amount of calories is enough to maintain or not. It depends on too many things like age, sex, genetics, activity level etc.
  7. Doesn't sound crazy at all. Don't feel the need to somehow justify that you're not logging your food by claiming that it sounds "crazy".
  8. Working though books about "normal eating" helped tremendously.

Oh, it's not real yoghurt. It's the soy stuff. 😁

    Food Before and After Photos

If I put the tofu/vegan patties on a sandwich depends. These little cubes would fall all over the place into every direction possible when being put between two pieces of bread so it's more of a convenience thing than anything else. If I wouldn't have eaten that with bread but with rice I would've mashed it all together in a bowl.

Time to finally get that thing out of its package I guess. ROFL.

So tell me what is less of a hassle to clean? An air fryer or a cast iron pan because 🤬😡🤬.
  14. It's pretty normal. Everyone (surgery or not) has days with more appetite, more hunger, more cravings... and some people are reacting to this and eat more one day and less the other. However, people on this board here are so damn traumatized and terrified when it comes to food and eating that they hold the opinion only eating the same amount everyday, weighed and counted, is the safe way to eat. Appetite, hunger and feelings of fullness or the lack there of don't have a word in this thing. So many patients seem to choose overly restrictive diets (kind of like an overkill) without seemingly ever giving a thought about if that is sustainable in the long run. Remember, all this stuff didn't work in the long run in the past and got you (and me, too, of course) to a point where WLS was needed. Of course there will always be non-eating-disordered reasons to restrict foods, e . g. dairy if you can't tolerate it, animal flesh because you're a vegetarian, pork because of religious reasons etc. - that's not what I'm talking about. In sum I think it is very sad that only a scarce amount of WLS patients seems to try to connect to what they really want to eat, or to their hunger and appetite cues. Am I really hungry right now? More than usually? Why could that be? What tastes do you really like and eating accordingly to them instead of choking down the next piece of fat free prepared lean protein chicken with two broccoli spears on the side even though you might hate the taste of green vegetables.

So, I bet y'all knew that I finally won't be able to resist. 😁 Almond-Nut-Tofu with king oyster mushrooms fried in coconut oil and seasoned with sweet soy sauce. Whole wheat bread with vegan butter and garden cress.
  16. My opinion is: find a diet that you really can stick to instead of "cycling it".

    Starches?

Starches were part of the diet from the beginning, e. g. carrot or potato soups and in the mushy phase mashed potatoes. However, diets vary not only from country to country but also from hospital to hospital sometimes.
  18. Most likely this won't go away. There will always be days when you'll feel more hungry, have more appetite, will eat more because there seems to fit more into the pouch/stomach. You'll probably notice that this feeling of "can eat more" is related to your activity level as well.

    Help! Thighs are dying!

Speak for yourself only, please. I had bypass as well and I'm fine eating carbohydrates and so are many other bypass patients.
  20. Weight loss is a b***h. The fat seems to be distributed kind of weird while and after losing weight quite often. It's royally annoying. You've definitely come a long road already. Your weight loss is clearly visible in your face (and without a doubt it shows on the rest of your body as well). However, you're still at a BMI of 38 after all. Technically that's class 2 obesity so it's quite normal that you still see yourself as "fat".

    Bile Reflux post MGB

No, some people have it without ever having surgery on their intestines.
  22. One effect I can think of is that constipation is not an issue.
  23. I posted about what I eat here. At the moment it's working fine. So while it's not the pound of cure diet I eat quite a lot of fruit and vegetables.
  24. Usually there will fit in more into the sleeve or pouch with time. There seems to be a growing in portion size up until to a certain point as it seems (everyone ist different though) and then there won't be much change. Dr. Weiner has interesting videos on this.
