    Binge eating-14 months after surgery

Hah, we're about the same height and weight (what a coincidence, lol). At this weight you might take into consideration that your body is rebelling against losing more weight.

    Binge eating-14 months after surgery

If you already have a therapist you might decide to follow her/his advice to stop the binge eating. To stop the binge eating (is it really bingeing or more like loss of control eating?) you need to eat enough in the first place so you'll met your body's needs. If you only want to lose 5-6 lbs more you're most likely at a healthy weight already so you might want to put that goal into the back for now and focus on getting this bingeing stuff out of your life before it really gets out of hand. The book Brain Over Binge is a really good read IMO. However, what constitutes a good read or not is always in the eye of the reader.

I'm not suggesting giving up exercise. If you draw real benefit form it, just do it! BS. "Being lightheaded" is not normal.

Sounds like you're stuck in the starve-binge-cycle / dieting-loss-of-control-eating-cycle (again). You might benefit from: - staying away from stupid fad diets like pouch reset - stop exercising as punishment for overeating - eating foods you really like regularly to prevent loss of control eating - reading the book Brain Over Binge These are things you can try right away without being depended on other people / having to wait for appointments and that'll hopefully help.
  5. This is something to keep in mind. Our bodies will decide. Yoni Freedhoff writes about "best weight possible" and I think it's a sensible goal weight to have.
  6. This. One can always go lower with weight goals after having reached one. Some people pick as first goal getting out of the obese BMI for example. Again this. I guess we've all read posts from users feeling like "failures" despite losing a real bunch of weight because their BMI is still in the overweight range.
  7. Hopefully. Green bean casserole doesn't sound like something one would have a food funeral on though. However, I'm not familiar with Thanksgiving foods. Is it something especially calorie rich?
  8. Alas, food funerals don't prevent post-op cravings.

    Weight loss in feet?

Absolutely. You lose weight everywhere. Feet and hands included.
  10. Nothing especially light but I tend to get full with less.
  11. I don't want that as well. In fact I don't know anyone who wants that. However, I know quite a few people who are this way/have gotten this way. The job just sucks you in and you really need your free time to recharge and catch up on sleep, not wanting to go to this or that event etc. - you just want things to be quiet. ETA: It's quite easy to blame "weight" for a lot of things and "weight" might be (or even most likely be) a big factor, however, there can be many other things preventing people from being "this going out and enjoying stuff and things" person, including the question "Do I really want to be an extrovert?".
  12. I completely understand the pre-surgery thing. However, I still have days when I simply don't want to go out and do things. In fact lately most of the days I don't want to go out and do things. Weight is only one thing that prevents me from going out and be active. My working schedule and stress level is just as "effective" in preventing me from going out and doing stuff as weight was back in the days.

    Food Before and After Photos

Ah, one of these bigger things. Unfortunately I have very limited space.

    What spiralizer do you own?
  16. Usually doesn't mean always. It also doesn't mean that gastric bypass patients never develop GERD. Also how can you claim bypass patients never develop GERD? That's a bit like claiming thin people can never develop type 2 diabetes. Their risk is lower but it's not zero. Interesting read on curing GERD with bypass, btw: https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/913919 (which is way less optimistic than the 80% I was told a few years back).
  17. It doesn't sound stupid at all and it makes a lot of sense. It's important to consider these things before making a decision and not be lured into getting a specific procedure because e. g. your surgeon has a personal preference for it for whatever reason or because it seems to be "the procedure to get" right now or because it promises the "best weight loss possible". Yes, it's absolutely possible. However, this seems to be possible after getting a bypass as well. Unfortunately there are many things to consider before choosing a procedure. GERD, malabsorption, possible food sensitivities...
  18. I secretly hoped that some of these users would answer in this thread, explaining why they chose to express it like this. You know, so far I've not seen something like "I'm getting a revision because of weight gain and NOT because of reflux". You know what the problem with assumptions is? However, you did notice that I used the expression "as if that would be" and not "because this is seen as"?
  19. So that is what you assume? Interesting.
  20. I don't understand what you're trying to tell me here. Do you want to express that someone having revision because of GERD deserves support more than someone having revision because of regain? Because then we would actually really disagree.

    Conversion to bypass

In the end this is only a small group of people gathering here, compared to the many people who get a sleeve every month and year. Selection bias. I personally don't think that any WLS is "a waste of time", however, I think some procedures tend to have more complications than others and depending on medical history, the sleeve might not be the go-to-procedure.
  22. It doesn't really bother me. But I actually kind of wondered why you singled out the word "anger", lol. 😃 I guess what I wrote in answer to your post about the WTF-moments is what describes it best. "You're going to get surgery again, general anesthesia, risk of preoperative complications and all and this is what is important to you right now? To make sure that everyone on here knows you're not having surgery again because of weight regain. Ok." Maybe I simply don't understand the reason behind it. Absolutely. And I personally don't think the reason for getting revision is important when it comes to giving support.
  23. I'm not even sure if I feel really angry about this or not or if I even have any particular feeling about it at all. However, I think sometimes I have some kind of a WTF-expression on my face when I read about someone getting a revision and emphasizing that it's not because of "weight". Like "You're getting a revision because of some serious sh*t and it's that important to make clear it's not because you've gained weight?!". In the end, what does it tell about a community when its members feel the need to make absolutely and 110% clear in advance that they're getting their revision not because of "weight"?

    Weight Gain

By this time finding a sustainable way of losing and maintaining the weight. (Sorry, but without more information, giving detailed advice is not really possible.)
