    OOTD

I've waited for a 25% discount and got both the Patera and Centrale. 😷 They have awesome clothes IMO but one definitely has to wait for a discount, lol. What coat do you wanna get?

Me in my brand new Arcteryx down parka (oh, the money... - but it kept me warm at 2°C)
  3. Regarding the "sitting heavy in the stomach" you might not be happier with them. They contain quite a bit of protein. I personally like the Explore brand (in fact that's the only brand of bean pasta I like, screw the rest).

    2020 Vets Updates

Hiatoplastic, gastropexia with part of the teres ligament and a second anastomosis which will be kind of an RNY one. I hope you're doing fine?

    2020 Vets Updates

I've scheduled my revision for 26th February. Hopefully things will go as I plan.

There is no definition of "slow loser". If you're satisfied with your weight everything's fine.
  7. One month post-op is quite early. You'll run into intolerances that might vanish into thin air just a couple of weeks later. Take it slowly with introducing new foods. Plate of spaghetti? Depends on the size of the plate of course, lol. Pasta or other more complex carbohydrates never make be dump.

    Am I losing my mind...

Absolutely. Change can be hard to cope with if one doesn't like the change. Doesn't even need to be insecurity involved, but of course it can be. I would hate having a husband all of a sudden that wants to go out partying every Friday and Saturday evenings because I'm usually tired and only want to cuddle up at home. And Billy Bob is obviously having some kind of tic right now that enforces hitting the "haha" button under several postings in a row, lol.
  12. The interesting thing is that it didn't feel like much of a struggle. Sure, quitting smoking was a pain in the a**. And so was the regain. I lost the regain when I discovered that intuitive eating is a thing one can do after WLS. So the weight came off quite easily and I didn't restart smoking so far. All of that is long ago. About 17 years or so. To lose the second regain was also not much of a hassle eating wise because the MGB took care of it. The year between the unfill and making up my mind to really get a revision was a pain in the a** as well though. I was scared as hell and postponed for almost a year. I'm facing another revision now and I won't wait a whole year this time. It's been about three months now that surgeons recommended it (hiatoplastic, gastropexia and revision of the anastomosis) and I've finally made up my mind and hope I can schedule surgery at the end of February or begin of March.
  13. So far you're maintaining an excess weight loss of 100 lbs two years out of surgery (if I read one of your previous posts correctly). In the eyes of a WLS surgeon that makes you still a success. Wherever you'll go: don't take the road to self-hate and "feeling like a failure". Believe me. A lot of people on here do understand. They might not post much or at all, most of them are not even on here but they are out there. No one can question that who've looked at the many papers dealing with long term success rates. Many patients regain weight, some lose it again, some not. I had a temporary regain years ago when I stopped smoking and then again when my band had to be unfilled because of worsening reflux/GERD. It does feel horrible but "feeling like a failure" gets you nowhere. On the contrary, extra self-care and self-compassion seems to work way better than scolding yourself. And even if it doesn't - at least it feels better.

Of course it's ok. It's also ok when people say that they don't want to get to a BMI of below 25. However, there are also quite a few people complaining about losing "too slowly" and some of them act like it is some kind of evil magic that prevents them from losing faster. As long as there are people bitching about how it's not fair and how they should be losing faster on the minuscule amount of calories they eat there will be people trying to explain to them why they're maybe not losing weight as fast enough as they think they should. And there should be people making clear that there is no evil magic that prevents people from losing weight faster and hopefully they won't stop pointing this out. Nobody is telling you how to lose or how fast to lose.

You ladies are all wearing nice dresses also when going to work. My husband's comment on the gear I wear in the picture I posted was "Looks somehow like a Power Ranger!". I was like ROFL.

It's a bit like labelling yourself a poor man when your yearly income is a million bucks.

Neither did I or most likely not any or at least not much of the women you can find on here. Most people do seem to have unrealistic expectations how fast the weight should be coming off or not. That's why many people say one shouldn't compare the own weight loss rate to that of others. (Ok, mostly it's more like a "I know I shouldn't compared, but...") I don't think that people are lying. However, they're overestimating what their TDEE is.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

Most people who think they're slow losers still seem to lose weight pretty fast. The WLS universe seems to be kind of warped in more than one way, e. g. - what "losing weight slowly" means. - what constitutes a "high calorie diet".

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

Maybe I'm getting Fatboyslim wrong but I don't think he denies these things. He just seems to say that the TDEE Serengirl claims/thinks to have is too good too high to be true and therefore she's losing the weight not as fast as she "should" according to the calculations she made. When people are losing weight rather slow it's because their TDEE isn't very high - for whatever reason.
  20. Interestingly enough not. Most people don't have a clue and ask some questions like "Does it work?", "Are there things you can't eat anymore or can you eat anything?", "Do you feel still hungry?", "Does it feel somehow weird or something?"

You will burn fat when you're in a calorie deficit.

This has nothing to do with "being in a coma" or not. Do you e. g. know how much LBM you have compared to fat mass? "...balling". That's the important word here. There is no way to really calculate how many calories your body needs in a day. All of these supposed calculations are really estimations. If you're not losing weight at the rate you're expecting to lose it's because your body is 1) not in a high enough energy deficit and that's that. 2) not a machine but a living organism.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

As long as you don't know how many calories you burn in a day you still don't know how high your deficit is. Energy needs vary big time between individuals. If you're not losing "enough" weight on the amount of calories you eat, your deficit is smaller than you think. Why your energy expenditure is what it is... who knows. You seem to have a lot of medical stuff going on that have effects on your energy expenditure.
