  1. Meh, unfortunately inner upper thighs are stubborn as hell. How long were you on liquids/soup after your revision? I find it way harder to recover this time. Ok ok, I'm almost 4 years older now but anyway. I also have to battle way more cravings.
  2. There was a little bit of pain when these little suckers were removed but nothing serious. Wounds looked good all the time. On a side note, at least the weather is good for a nice protein hot cocoa. ☕
  3. I have the usual 5 incisions across the upper abdomen. Nothing big and scary. I eat soup and thin pudding and yoghurt and the like. Luckily only 3 weeks of liquids this time instead of 4 weeks.
  4. Today the staples were removed from the incisions. Wounds are looking fine. About 3 kg less now on the scales now than the day before surgery, btw. Dammit, I want to eat roasted red beets now. Even these awful McD burgers looked fine today, lol.
  5. I can already handle it. Peanut butter, almond butter, coconut butter. Nuts are one of the fats I can eat that feel just fine. I wonder if there will really be any change in what I can tolerate or not though. Interestingly enough nut butters are recommended now in the liquid phase to add to a protein smoothie now and then as a fat source. Obviously good for digestion. Not heaps of course, but a little bit.

    OOTD

Ok, to those who display nice spring and summer clothing - where do you live?! It's 5° C where I live.
  7. Until next Wednesday. Though an apple and a piece of Pumpernickel with peanut butter is first on my list, ROFL.
  8. I do this with soy yoghurt and a nougat flavored protein powder. Also some additional cocoa. 🤤

    OOTD

Casual as usual. Terrible lighting. Oh, and hubby obviously shook the umbrella in front of the mirror yesterday... 🙄
  10. If you in genreal don't mind a sweet breakfast try mixing a protein powder with an unsweetened one. There are either unsweetened plain proteins out there but there are also unsweetened vanilla or chocolate proteins out there, e. g. nutri+ or alphafoods.

    whey intolerance

Do the phytoestrogens really have weird effects on dudes? If this is bothering you, you could get a soy protein that is filtered. Or try a different source of plant protein. There are plenty of protein mixes out there.
  12. Eating liquid doesn't really warrant the label of "eating". It already gets on my nerves big time. Maybe I should start a ticker until March 18th when I'll be allowed to have real food again, lol. 😂😫🤤
  13. So far no cramping or pain today. The incisions still hurt a bit of course but my abdominal muscles don't hurt as much as they did after previous surgeries. The only thing that hurts less, lol. I'M glad I'm on sick leave for some more days though.
  14. I have that feeling of fullness. Bypass feels way better than the band for me.
  15. It depends on your preferences. You can have it quite cheap or you can spend a fortune. If you like the taste of the less expensive stuff and have no problems with intolerances you don't have to spend a lot of money. Please check back with your team regarding the slow release stuff. We were advised not to take anything depot or slow release.
  16. Meh, I hate measuring and tracking food. Triggers obsession and some weird kind of anxiety.

    Changing Tactics

Yes, nut butters are problematic. They're best weighed. The tbs and tsp measurements are way off in my experience.
  18. Yes, I wonder how little calories that is...
  19. I would be starving on this meal plan. 😕
  20. I haven't seen any pictures so I don't know how severe it is or how slow the peristaltic wave is. You don't have achalasia, do you? I can remember I had a horribly slow peristaltic wave when I still had my lap band and the esophagus was dilated as well. Luckily the esophagus is at a normal caliber again and peristaltic wave is normal.
  21. So it might not be a surgery related problem after all?

    The Maintenance Thread

I hold the opinion that it might be dependent on the amount of effort you have to put in and how happy (like really happy) you are with the changes you've made in your life, e. g. how much does one really enjoy going to the gym five times a week or talking a walk during lunch break or how much does one really miss certain higher caloric foods etc.? Is the diet/exercise plan a person is on really a schedule that makes this person happy? Or is it at least a regimen that the person doesn't really mind to have? Or does it feel like a chore every damn time? I think that one will run almost inevitably into burnout sooner or later if the lifestyle that was chosen feels like a millstone around the neck. And even if you're managing to hold up your routine - most likely you'll feel very miserable on it in the long run. However, this is just my personal opinion based on the mistakes I made in the past.
