  1. Sounds like what we were told with the exception of shying away from bread, pasta etc. - nothing off limits in our diets. However, there were the patients who craved more "rules" or more "exact rules" and/or "stricter rules" because they wanted to make everything 110% right and were terribly afraid to do anything wrong, some flat out ignoring the advice of the dietician. Patient A: "Oh, I have to go and buy non-fat milk and low-fat cheese when I come home!" Patient B: "Yes, me too!!" Me thinking to myself: "Didn't the dietician tell us about 15 min ago that we shouldn't eat these non-/-low-fat variants of foods and that full-fat cheeses and even full-fat milk would be ok?! Did you even listen to what was recommended?!" No. We also were not given a specific calorie amount to eat. Needs vary with gender, age, activity level etc. There was a guideline to volume for the first few weeks (to long ago to remember tbh) and a protein goal to meet (1 g per kg of normal body weight).
  2. No bra at night. Never. Not voluntarily. Bruh.

    Can anyone help, or....

I don't think anyone on here needs to tell you that you need to take in more calories. If you can't have milk, try a substitute like soy or almond milk or coconut milk. Nuts/nut butters or avocados blended in shakes add plenty of calories.

What you mentioned in your first post is actually quite typical for people being at a big calorie deficit for whatever reason ("no strength, no energy, terrible insomnia"). How much calories are you getting in a day?

Exercise (strength training) and protein to get some muscles on the frame is actually not the worst recommendation possible. Sufficient calories are important though to build up mass.

    Gastric sleeve 2nd year out.

There are no guidelines that provide fixed numbers on e. g. calories intake. There can't be. TDEE varies a lot depending on the factors catwoman already listed. As for protein the old 1 g protein per 1 kg of normal weight is still what the dieticians in the hospital I got surgery at recommend as a rough guideline, a bit more when you're exercising a lot. So if your normal weight is 70 kg you should aim for about 70 g of protein a day unless you're very active. Unfortunately the information you provide is a bit scarce here. In general I agree with catwoman. Best strategy is to ease down your daily intake until you start losing weight again and then let it level off so you don't have to change gears again. You can do this by counting calories as was already suggested or you can do it by simply reducing the amount of food you eat a bit and/or changing the type of food you eat if you abhor counting calories (like I do). Exercise can also help.
  7. As others have already suggested: Norway is not a desert where you have to bring your own supplies. When living in a small town you might have to order protein powders and vitamins, depending on your preferences. Basic food items have no brands. An apple is an apple.

    OOTD

Where can I get this shirt?
  10. If you don't want to hear other people's opinion about something - an internet board is the wrong place to be. Not everyone will be agreeing with you on everything. Also you say you're at a stable weight and have only minimal fluctuations and claim to know it wasn't directed at you personally. So exactly what are you so upset about that you can't drop it?

Self-made Matjesbrot. Bread, butter, red onion, apple slices, matjes.
  12. @Darktowerdreamwhat catwoman said. I'm not trying to give someone a guilt trip - why should I? In the end everyone has to to make a decision. If people want to rush it - I can understand. I was in the same place several years ago. I just wanted to be over with this whole sh*t! Now I'm glad I didn't rush it because of weight loss due to revision. Imagine having plastics and then losing more weight. All wrinkly/saggy again and it doesn't need much weight to come off when you're in a normal BMI range to notice the change.
  13. Of course people can do what they want. People can make their appointment for their first plastic surgery the day they plan their WLS if they think that's the way to go. If you reach your final weight at month 6 you'll be at a stable weight for 7 months then. If you don't even reach your final weight in 13 months... well - yes, then it's rushed. It's not the time span between getting WLS and plastics but the time span between reaching final weight and plastics. And mind you I'm talking about "final weight" and not "goal weight" for a reason. --- Side rant: "picking a goal weight" is not the same as "picking the color of your hair dye". I bet some of the old-timers on here have their very own opinion on goal weights as well.
  14. That's why I'm glad now I postponed for so long. It's only 1 BMI point (about 3 kg) I dropped after revision but damn... it shows when it comes to the skin... I would never have imagined.

    Working out again question.

Depending on what your preferences are there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to starting exercising (again). Do you prefer working out at home alone or with other people? Do you mind driving somewhere first before being able to start (I for sure do). If you prefer some cardio to start with you might as well looking into dancing or Zumba or something like that besides walking, cycling or running. Strength training one can look into stuff like Freeletics or YAYOG (great programs for the beginner or once-injured-and-now-starting-again people available there, but it's not free).
  16. Is rushing to plastics the latest hype on BP, btw? Did I miss something? Most surgeons require patients to be at least 6 months at a stable weight before doing plastics. We're not even talking insurance here, but surgeons.
  17. Got my new bike! Tested it on an about 70 km ride and it's awesome. 😍

    Food Before and After Photos

The spreads are peanut butter, a vegan chocolate spread and the fruity stuff is a high quality (i. e. high fruit content) raspberry or strawberry marmalade. The apricots were indeed very good.
  19. Felt like crap on the last miles of my bike ride. My stomach decided to start hurting during the ride and I couldn't hydrate properly and I also couldn't eat my energy bar. Puked up the bite I took a mile later. I felt a little weird to the stomach since noon but I didn't think it would become that bad.

The last 10 km felt like hell. 😩

I feel better after coffee, a carrot-ginger soup and a protein pudding but still... wasn't fun.

Does Food Still Bring You Joy? a newbie wants to know.

Just a thought that came to my mind during a bike ride today (yes, straight and empty bike lanes can be that boring): I think I really only started to enjoy food when I reached a weight I was ok with. Before that there was good tasting food of course but there was always the smack of bad conscience involved.
