Running wild on the fusion kitchen (yes, I am using up the stuff in my pantry and fridge before vacation, lol): broccoli with udon noodles, yellow onion, fake grilled chicken and vegan "Pizzaschmelz" on top, greek spice mix.

Green beans with tempeh and sweet & hot soy sauce. The leftover Klöße weren't the best match for that but it was ok. 😂

That's what the plastic surgeon and bariatric surgeon at follow-up recently said to me. As I said: loose skin is a huge mind f*ck.

    Is this it?

As I said: loose skin is a huge mindfuck. I wonder how I will feel after plastics. However, I don't have that problem with looking at a BMI 46 woman in the mirror but I sometimes feel horribly fat. Whenever I feel horribly fat I get in front of the mirror and take a look at myself (fully clothed though). This works especially good when looking into reflecting surfaces like e. g. glass doors when I'm standing next to someone else and can compare my frame to the other person to put things into perspective, doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman or if the person is thin or fat.
  6. GL, I feel like a hammer has hit me on the head. Sunday's 24 h shift was beyond awful and one day of recovery is not nearly enough. I hate that jet lag feeling I often have after these shifts. Everyone deals with it but I doubt something's going to change.

I'm leaving at the end of December. No more of this **** after that. Time to bring in the new **** then though, lol.

Yes, I resigned today but even given the fact that everyone knew I would only be a 3-year add on and given the fact that I'm staying 3 months longer than originally planned... it was still a weird feeling to hand in that piece of paper this morning.

I will miss quite a few people a lot.

I don't know if it will really be better - but it will for sure be different. I'm going back to the hospital that sent me away for three years to get my board certification as a neuroradiologist.

I think you Aussies (and I have no doubt we Germans as well) will catch up in time. When I think about the desert that was vegan food or gluten free food only several years ago, we have caught up quite well (or so I think, at least I noticed that the aisle with the gluten free products has grown a quite a bit). When it comes to low-carb I don't really pay attention, but my husband does. There are quite a few protein-breads available (that shouldn't be allowed to be labeled as "bread" though IMO) and I've seen low-carb muesli, protein bars, chips and the like. I miss a good dairy-free cheese substitute though one can put on grilled sandwiches, casseroles and pizza. The substitutes I tried so far are all more or less 🤢.

Burger buns? I've only seen the sweet stuff on their website. This stuff looks indeed good. But yes, you're absolutely right: pretty expensive.

    Is McDonalds gone for good?

Fast Food/Junk Food addict here are well. Not when it comes to fast food restaurants or delivery foods - but in my own home. See some meals in the food pictures thread, lol. I use meat substitutes way too often.

Yes. You can buy the refrigerated dough and just roll the balls and put them in salted hot water. Not that bad. I prefer them actually baked though.

Another ugly looking but very tasty dish: Klöße on a mushroom stew. Leftovers for tomorrow.

There are the individual food intolerances to take into consideration, but most likely yes.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. She is and you are - and so are all the others on this board. If OP only wants to be cheered on, an internet board is the wrong place to be. There will be critical voices and one has to deal with them, too.

    Food Before and After Photos

I don't really have a recipe. I just shredded green cabbage and carrots, fried it with a bit of oil in the pan until it was lightly browned and done and put some sate sauce out of the glass on it. Poured the whole thing over leftover hard boiled eggs and beans pasta. My "cooking" is very simple. I'm neither a very talented cook nor interested in spending my time with cooking, so the stuff I cook takes very little active time. It might need an hour in the oven sometimes but I don't count that.

    Is this it?

Nobody talked about that OP isn't "allowed" to lose more weight. People are allowed to lose all weight they want. However, it should also be allowed to put things into perspective. And "being scared that this is it" when one is 0.6 BMI points overweight, coming down from morbid obesity - maybe it doesn't hurt to provide some different POVs, especially when taking into consideration what catwoman7 and Pckeys said. Do 0.6 BMI points really warrant "being scared"? In which way? Health concerns? Come on... If one can go lower without much hassle, why not. However, I'd be very cautious to start the dieting-merry-go-round again because of some vanity weight. ETA: I know that loose skin can be a huge mind f*ck when it comes to body image and "feeling fat" so if that is the case OP has my 100% sympathy. However, things still should be seen in a realistic way: this has nothing to do with e. g. my cardiovascular health.

IMO the "pure sugar things" are easy to substitute: get the diet version. Works also for hard candy and gum. Think about your poor teeth. I wouldn't want that sugary stuff in my mouth, doesn't have anything to do with calories. The only sugary beverage I have once in a while is a strong espresso with real sugar, but that thing is downed in a minute and not sipped over a longer time span.

The sriracha mayo is bomb. I wanted to try that for ages and a few days ago I got the smallest squeeze bottle possible (these kinds of condiments tend to go bad in my fridge because they have limited shelf life once opened and I don't want to eat this like every other day, lol).

Yes, they have that smooth and a bit squishy texture as well. I just nuked them in the microwave because I was too lazy for getting out the pan. I don't know how expensive the were. I bought them weeks ago when I stocked up on frozen edamame, mixed wok vegetables and seaweed salad so I can't remember.

Mix of rice with furikake, nuked tofu-fish cakes, edamame and wakame salad. Some sriracha mayo.

    Protein trial

Testing your way though different protein powders or drinks is definitely not a bad idea. Many online shops offer sample packs, e. g. one brand might offer a variety of their flavors in a pack of 6 or 8 samples. Don't restrict yourself to whey protein though. Try a few plant based proteins as well, just in case.

Your BMI is 25.5 - why are you scared that "this is it"? You're at a normal weight already.
