Meh, I feel unusually tensed during this vacation so far. There is too damn much on my table right now with board certification, moving again and changing team again on top. I need to start studying and time is flying by.
Plastics... I'm postponing. Again. I still haven't sent the letter to insurance. Why not? I have no idea. Fear? Not the most important thing at the moment? Or some inner part of me still being not ready for some reason? I guess a combo of it all. Damn, this stuff is important to me! I want to get my things together!

Thoughts on having "the works"? (multiple procedures during one surgery)
summerset replied to FatboySkin's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The recovery times are obviously a problem then. I would deem time on the table as a problem as well. Surgeon said arms and abdomen together would be no problem. Then breasts and thighs together. There are several combos possible. Breasts and abdomen would also be an option but arms and thighs together doesn't seem like the greatest combo somehow. Fast recovery time is important for me out of various reasons. That I'm going to have surgery before 2021 seems to be unrealistic as well. Too much on my table of life right now. Yes, I'm postponing again (sigh) but honestly, surgery won't run away while other important things are time sensitive and getting urgent right now. -

This. I think it will be two in my case (depending on what insurance will pay for the surgeon will combine one or the other way). Arms will be a combo - insurance won't pay for arms I guess. Butt - I don't know if butt will really be necessary. Surgeon said that I should wait and see. He claimed that once the thighs are made (mine look really awful and out of proportion in the upper inner part) I won't be bothered much by my the butt? Can't imagine this but he's the pro after all. -

It wasn't a restaurant but an organic grocery store. From what I've seen I could order that cheese online. I don't like ordering highly perishable items online though. -

Oh well, I guess online shopping will be my best friend again when it comes to cashew cheese. I can get my hands on the cashewsan (if it's not sold out) and two types of cashew cheese with herbs at a local grocery store where I live but that camembert is really bomb! We just had a glass of red wine and had some bread and cheese with it. Even my dairy eating and cheese loving husband said it was good, lol. -

I've seen that as well. But I doubt this will ever happen. 😅 -

This would be my dream. But somehow I think the time on the table would be quite long, therefore increasing the risk of e. g. PE. Plus I guess recovery time would be quite long when having so much work done at once. However, I'm going to get combination of two. Single surgery is out of the question for me. -

OMG, could get my hands on cashew camembert!! With this stuff available I won't crave the real thing anymore. 😍 Happy Cashew Never seen it in my area so far though! 😩 -
Depends. We were allowed to introduce caffeine back after 4 weeks so I personally don't see a problem with caffeine when it comes to the digestion system (though you might not want to drink as much coffee as I do, lol). Energy drinks - I drink them rarely. Most of them are not suiting my taste preferences and the ones that do are not that easy to get in my area for whatever reason (I like the sugar free Monster ultra sunrise but most stores don't carry the sugar free version).
-
No idea. I eat way more than this. I maybe ate 800 kcal in the immediate post-op phase but we're talking a few weeks here.

Which makes me wonder what some surgeons or nutritionists seem to think. That we're cyborgs or something? Programmed by WLS to never wanting food x or y again? Meh, I'm in rant mood tonight.

Not every post-op diet shuns carbohydrates. I wish people would keep this in mind and stop acting like they're about to commit a deadly sin or serious crime when wanting to eat "carbs". I never had problems with bread, including pitas.

If you upped your carbohydrate intake after eating low-carb it's pretty normal to gain water weight. Carbohydrates won't make you magically gain fat, a calorie surplus will make you gain fat (but think about how much calories you'd have to eat to really gain 1.5 lbs of fat). -
Living in a fancy house with big windows, a nice terrace, a big garden and a big pool near the beach. (no way that will ever happen, lol, I'd need to be a gazillionaire)

It's different for the bypass people. When I first tried coke zero with whiskey it hit hard and fast. Luckily I tried it at home as advised, lol. I rarely drink alcohol, it was never my drug of choice, and that makes me extra sensitive on top. Interestingly enough I didn't notice a lot of change with weight. I used to get bombed on a relatively small amount of alcohol at my highest weight, too.

Soy skyr, maraschino cherries, kiwi and s bit of chocolate sauce. -
Depends. I can remember being advised not having alcoholic beverages for about 4 months or so and that we should try with caution because one can get drunk really quick. For me, it can hit like a hammer, depending on the beverage. However, this is only the "technical site of it" so to say. That one can have alcohol after some weeks or months doesn't mean that one should drink alcohol regularly (WLS or not).

I use e. g. these - they're made out of sunflower protein. They have a rather neutral taste but add a nice crunch. -

It's a store bought paste. I sometimes make peanut sauce myself or use peanut butter in stews though but I like this paste quite a lot.
