    Food Before and After Photos

I wish I could have every meal and all foods delivered. I hate food shopping, preparing, cooking, the cleaning up afterwards. Basically everything despite eating the food, lol.

    Crappy Dietician

Indeed. It undermines his credibility which is a shame since he has some good video material out there.
  3. Since patients are happily downing meats and cheeses once they have healed without anyone warning them about "damaging their sleeves" or "having lumps formed in their stomachs" I'd go for the scare tactics. New foods need to be introduced with caution, that I definitely agree on - but there is no reason to believe that patients automatically will have problems with pasta or bread. In the end all of this "diet advice" has to be seen in context and taken with a grain of salt: carbohydrates are the "bad guys" nowadays, at least in the US and more and more also in Europe. Years ago the bad guy was "fat" and people were advised to cut out fat, including WLS patients. However, seems like neither eating low-fat nor low-carb nor keto has solved the obesity problem so far so cutting down on certain macronutrients obviously doesn't the trick. In the end it's always CICO.

    Raw honey

In the end it's sugar just like other sugars. If you want to use it within sensible amounts as a sweetener or a spread is up to you.

    Dumping

Or they only dump on really high amounts of sugar that is ingested really fast. I only get late dumping when too much sugar is combined with alcohol.

    Crappy Dietician

You already answered your own question: you're getting marketing e-mails. Maybe do a quick search on him on this board. There was some talk about a pyramid scheme scam or something like that.

    Crappy Dietician

I like several of his videos as well (though from what I've heard and seen he's become kind of shady with his weight loss stuff, which is a shame because people dismiss his earlier videos because of this and I think there are at least a few gems to be found). However, I wonder if his patients or the patients following his approach are more successful and reach lower weights in the long run or not. Same with Dr. Weiner (some excellent videos out there as well). I wonder if his patients are more successful in the long run. --- ETA: "A Pound of Cure" is still available as a free read for kindle unlimited members.

    Any bike suggestions?

Standing up once in a while or slightly shifting on the saddle helps a lot. It gets the blood flowing again. Whenever I get the chance I get up for a few seconds (easier to do when biking in a more hilly area).

    Foods after surgery

Your stomach obviously doesn't like to eat meat anymore, at least not now. You don't need meat for adequate nutrition, so there is no need to force it down with tricks and hacks. Dr. Weiner's videos on youtube are a good watch for post-op nutrition as well.

    Right Rice anyone?

This "right rice" stuff sounds a bit like the "rice" made out of legumes sold bei Explore Cuisine. Check the ingredient list of "right rice". If it reads like chemistry class, I wouldn't buy it. If there are only the legumes listed I'd maybe give it a try.
  12. Avoiding a stall? You're currently starving a normal weight body on 700 cals a day while starting an exercise program.

    Give it me straight!

Some people develop food intolerances, e. g. lactose and in general have problems eating more stringy foods. As for the physical problems catwoman has already listed a lot. As for the mental problems... addiction transfer seems to be a real thing. Alcohol, smoking, shopping, food obsession, exercise (and no, exercise addiction is not - I repeat NOT - the "good addiction", hello, overuse injuries!).
  15. That's the most likely one, especially since OP is at a normal weight. I sometimes wonder why people seem to be so surprised about our bodies wanting more food when energy expenditure goes up. It's perfectly natural and healthy for our bodies to crave higher energy intake then. I'm a bottomless pit after longer bike rides and while I agree that it can feel a bit scary sometimes I still think it's - well - normal!

The nearby REWE market has vegan sushi now! 😍 The fake salmon is supposed to be made out of... tapioca starch? Hopefully this tastes better than it sounds.
  18. I see a conversation going like this: Nosy neighbor: "OMG, how did you lost so much weight?" You: "It's because an alien stuck something up my butt." Nosy neighbor: "Haha, funny one! You had weight loss surgery, right?"

"Malnourished" is a very vague term. Did they go into details? Low calorie diets are straining on the body. The immune system can be (at least temporarily) compromised.

    Can anyone eat carbs?

Eating plans vary big time. I ate my first slice bread four weeks after surgery, foods like thinned mashed potatoes and pureed fruit within yoghurts were staples of the immediate post-op diet starting day two. I also ate pasta and rice during the weight loss phase. FYI I got down to a normal weight and maintain it.

    Crappy Dietician

If a dietician is useful or not depends on the dietician. A dietician using the "one size has to fit them all and I don't care about the preferences of the client" is indeed pretty much useless. It's less pricey and less time consuming to just read a high-gloss brochure about the standard stuff. However, on the other hand not agreeing with everything the patient views as "the best approach" doesn't make her/him automatically a bad dietician. IMO a good dietician is knowledgeable about different approaches and also stays up-to-date with research as much as possible. They also won't jump onto the latest food craze. He/she will also take the patient's preferences (taste, religion, ethics) and different intolerances into account and adjust supplements according to bloodwork. I regular visits in rather short intervals are a necessary thing if everything goes the right way... I personally don't think it's necessary but that's just my opinion.
