Eating egg muffin at 6 days Post Op

Same thing with alcohol or nicotine while still in the healing phase. Addiction/dependency got the better of people. Luckily most of the time no serious consequences. -
Eating egg muffin at 6 days Post Op

Yeah, why not do the right thing and simply "stick to the program"? 1) She thought it would be fun and perfectly ok to eat an egg mcmuffin that early out. 2) She wanted to sabotage her success on purpose. 3) Disordered eating got the better of her. I opt for number 3! Stop being so damn self-righteous about this! -

Prepared food for 24 h shift. Hopefully shift's not going to be as bad as last Sunday. Rice with broccoli, one portion with mackerel with black beans out of the can, the other one with fried tofu (very squishy and pretty tasteless, won't buy again) and sweet chili garlic sauce. Bread with cashew camembert. Bread with mock Fleischsalat. Carrots. Fruit salad with banana, plum and pear. -
Does hunger come back?

I'd rather think of it as "finding your new sustainable routine". Referring to all of this as "hard work" or "the real work" or "a daily struggle" or "constant battle" as so many patients seem to do sets up an atmosphere that makes me feel uncomfortable to emerge myself into. Words are very powerful. Be careful not to create an uncomfortable environment in your own head. -

I noticed an increase in portion size up to maybe 1 years or 1.5 years. After that it stayed the same. Hunger is more or less the same. I don't feel much physical hunger. Appetite varies big time with stress levels, working load and mood in general. -

You will start eating more with time. I wish treatment teams would prepare their patients for this to happen. Take a look at 1:40 min when he talks about portion sizes. How are you going to prevent this? -
I was never screened and in fact the first time I ever heard about this was on this board. I saw patients smoking the day before surgery and the days after surgery. Of course it was advised to stop smoking but in the end surgeons gave a damn.

I was the same both after MGB and RNY. With all the people talking about "feeling stuffed after three spoons of yoghurt" it's pretty normal to ask this question. Again, I was the same. I never could relate to patients who would struggle with "eating more than 500 cals a day". If it's any solace to you: BMI of 22.8 here.

I don't know how many years ago it started in Germany but I think it has to do with more people living alone and both partners working when being in a marriage. In the end it's a spiral of companies-offering-it-to-people and people-wanting-to-have-it.

It's pretty common in Germany. I've never seen smoked herrings though. -

Udon noodles with wakame salad and smoked trout. The combo was quite good. -

That's the 5 year survival rate, mind you. If it has spread to local lymph nodes make that a 25%. -

Yellow curry with mushrooms, broccoli and onions. I mimicked the Vietnamese takeout with these mock chicken stuff cut in strips on top. -
Dunno. I have no idea how reliable body fat scales are when lots of loose skin is present. They're not really reliable in general so I don't trust mine when it comes to absolute numbers. It puts me at 22% bf. My latest routine ultrasound showed "almost no visceral fat" according to the surgeon who did the ultrasound so visceral fat seems to be of no concern. I'm not curious enough to expose myself to extra radiation, so no DEXA for me just to satisfy curiosity. In general I guess one has to find a middle ground between "desired body fat", "healthy body fat" and "what's possible without having to sacrifice too much".

What's the rationale behind that? Possible dumping? -

It varies big time. I never counted carbs or calories. I only made sure to reach the protein goal. Worked fine for me and still does. -
Tired of Questions...need some reasons for weight loss

Because nobody with brains worth more than 5 cent in their skull won't believe this schlock. People might not tell you to your face "You had surgery, right?" because in the end most people are polite enough to not out you but with WLS being a known procedure these days and not as uncommon as it once was - people draw their own conclusions once they see a very heavy person losing weight fast, especially when it started after a short period of absence. -
Cook up some vegetables and puree the hell out of them. I don't know what seasonings are allowed in your case but some salt or one of these little broth cubes should be ok I guess.
-
What exactly do they mean with "liquid". Our 4 weeks were called "liquid" as well but was more like "thinner puree".
-
By having come to the conclusion that there is no "former fat person" and no "new me". There is just "me". And it was always only "me". We all evolve as people with the experiences in life we make. Education, relationships, work, coping with a chronic illness (obesity) etc. - "weight" is one of these factors. I know many shy people who feel awkward in social situations who were never fat, so maybe the shy fat person will simply be the shy thin person because it's simply their personality. By far not all fat people are shy and they're by far not always "the jolly ones". I know many fat people who're seen as confident people being good at their jobs. Most likely they will still be confident people should they ever lose weight. On a side note, I personally hold the opinion that a "former fat me" vs. "new me" mentality can have quite a toxic effect. When you belittle "former fat you", you're always belittling you. Then fake it until you make it.

Had that spinach, mock chicken, cheezy sauce thing über bean pasta again and I was right: it lacked more spinach last time.
