    Energy Drinks?? Bangs?

Depends on the surgeon if you're allowed caffeine or not. It's not about weight loss. It's about being a potential irritant to the stomach lining. We were allowed all foods including black tea and regular coffee after four weeks. Before the four weeks were over the dietician advised even against decaf coffee .
  2. Many dieters are "good all day" 😊. Bodies don't really like being in a calorie deficit. So that makes it extra hard. I can remember the dietician told us three meals plus one snack in the afternoon and to stop eating 2 h before going to bed (though that's because of possible reflux issues and not because of weight loss) but that in the end this is only a guideline just as the recommended foods. Some patients do good on the recommended schedule and/or foods, some eat three meals a day, others need five or six because they have a higher TDEE and/or a physically more demanding job, some eat different foods because of intolerances, ethical reasons or because of taste preferences. Plans/diets need to be adapted to the patient's needs, not the other way around.

    Food Before and After Photos

You're so brave. 🤣 I'm still asking myself if a pressure cooker will solve my time problem with cooking beans from scratch or if it will slowly collect dust in the back of some shelf because canned is still so much more convenient and the days in which red kidney beans and maybe chick peas (if lucky!) were the only canned beans available are over.
  4. Got my new gravel bike yesterday and I want to take it out for a ride. However, it's cold af here today  (0°C) and I've forgotten to take my primaloft shorts for additional isolation.

I already froze my pelvic region off during the short test rides yesterday and it was 5°C so I guess it'll have to wait a bit... not worth catching a UTI.

  5. Head hunger as in "appetite and could eat something"? Well... my first WLS was March 6th 2001 so since 19 years, 8 months and 15 days. 😂 Head hunger is normal, everyone has it (yes, even the "skinnies"). Accept it and get used to it.

    Fear of eating

Eek, so maybe you should seek advice from your treatment team regarding your high anxiety levels or - if they dismiss your concerns or don't seem competent regarding this issue - get help elsewhere, e. g. support groups both online or IRL, books or - if you're lucky enough to have access to - professionals specializing in eating issues. I think a lot of us show signs of highly restrictive eating, both in our history and after WLS. Disordered eating can hide behind many faces. I guess I'm living out my own disordered eating in IF and by restricting more foods than necessary (I can't have dairy, meats and most other animal products would be tolerable but I choose not to eat them).

    Fear of eating

And you wish you would dump every time after having eaten carbohydrates. You're a bypass, right? Don't compare yourself to sleevers. You can still try to tell your anxious brain the facts. I don't know how bad your anxiety is though but most likely too many pressure inducing and anxiety provoking thoughts took hold in your mind over the last time. Btw, if you've ever heard something about the "window of weight loss closing after some months" (and I'm 1000% sure you have, most likely more than one time) - ditch the thought. It's bull crap. You will always lose weight when eating less calories than your body burns. Assuming that there's a "window of opportunity" only contributes to your anxiety by creating pressure to lose weight fast "before it's too late". It definitely is addictive. That raises the question: what will you do once weight loss slows down or when you've reached goal weight and the rush is gone? I've read something about overeaters not only being addicted to the rush of hyper palatable foods but also to the rush of strict dieting. I feel this is true.

    Expected weight loss

Of course they are. Why should they be less long, lol. I guess there might be certain kind of shoes that need to be bought bigger when feet have more fat on them (or more water in them, take a look at the feet of some elderly ladies), but e. g. a sneaker? You have to tighten up the laces but that's all you have to do.
  9. The MGB pouch was way more...forgiving?

    Expected weight loss

I'm a 39-40 Euro size (at 5'6''), depending on the brand, always was as an adult. I don't know how people lose a shoe size. Length of feet is set once you're an adult, no? I'm also a large frame according to wrist circumference.

    Cold all the time?

In general not feeling cold. Exception is when I'm tired. I tend to get the shivers then but it was always like that, fat or thin.

    Food Before and After Photos

Rest of the gnocchi, green cauliflower, red onion and tempeh fried with a spicy sweet soy sauce. The zucchini had unfortunately a slightly bitter aftertaste when I took the test bite. Threw it out.

Leftover gnocchi (the pack yields more portion than I estimated) over zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, vegan ground beef and tomato sauce. Self-made cashewsan (still tastes good after several days in the fridge).

Made apple crumble cake again. Added a plum to it that had to go. I also used a bit of another protein powder. Same ingredients as protein oatmeal (oats or spelt, protein powder, almond butter, apples, spices, a bit of water, maybe some raisins). Feels more satisfying and decadent though.

    Fear of eating

Take a step back and re-evaluate the whole situation from a different point of view. When you think about what you've learnt about weight loss, nutrition etc. - do you make any sense right now? What would you tell a close friend if he/she would tell you this? What I experienced after my surgeries for the first few weeks was a feeling of pressure in the region directly under the xiphoid before my brain switched back to a "normal kind of feeling full". Do you experience this bit of pressure in a pretty located area in the epigastric area? Take your time to feel it. You might only be able to feel it in a standing position. Don't give too much about what you're reading on the interwebz or what other people might have told you. Many things have to be taken with a grain of salt or at least with a bit of caution. Comparing yourself (or your own experiences) to others only contributes to raising your anxiety levels as you've already noticed. In the end you are you and not someone else. If it's any solace to you: I never experienced this "being full after 2-4 bites" as well and I'm a normal weight since a whole while now. A certain level of anxiety ist pretty normal. After all we don't want to do anything "wrong". "Last chance", "if this doesn't work out I'm doomed to be fat", "end of the road" and blahblahblah... Depending on how strong your fear is you might benefit from talking to your dietician. Reason should tell you that eating an amount of 3 bites a meal and 425 kcal a day is non-sustainable starvation for any human being on this planet and that weight loss isn't linear and yet you're experiencing fear and pressure that you might be eating too much. If nobody ever told you about this "feeling overly full after 4 bites" or "even having trouble hitting 600 cals a day" or how much weight other patients lost within the first few months or something like that - would you still feeling afraid and experience this level of anxiety? Or would you be happy with your results and restriction level? You're most likely being afraid because you're comparing yourself to others and therefore expecting certain things, not because of hard facts. It almost always boils down to comparing yourself with others.
  17. 24 h shift on Sunday was just plain awful. I still don't feel recovered and going to take it slow today. I'm taking some overtime hours this week.

Playing with my newest gadget: an oura ring.

    Baritastic App Inaccurate

I used CRON-O-Meter for a while. Most detailed tracker out there. You don't need an app with a "bariatric focus".
  23. Vegan protein Toasties (I guess you'd call them "English muffins", at least it's a look-alike). Saw them at REWE yesterday. Also whole wheat tortillas. They're hard to find in Germany.

Interesting. Didn't notice anything special during that time span. After about 1 to 1.5 years I didn't notice any changes anymore for me regarding portion sizes or appetite/hunger.
