  3. PBing hurts like hell. Its tons of pressure in your chest until the stuff comes up. Ouch!
  4. Hey guys, I'm sitting here with a buddy who is planning on getting a lap band. He has several obesity related issues and his BMI is plenty high-- might the VA benefits cover it, or help cover it?

    Sex!!!

I did it 2 days after... Looks like I have the record.

bmi of 30 - will any surgeon help me?

The lap band will help a lot. Go to Mexico and get it. You sound like me before I got the band, I was an eating fool. Now.... I am getting studlier by the day.

    Is this normal?

Here's the deal guys, I'm hoping those who have had fills can tell me if this is normal. I got my first fill on Friday (used floro). My band is an iname 9.75, I think it holds 5 cc's if I remember correctly. She put in 1.5 cc's. I watched the restriction adjustment on the screen it was very cool. The Fluid went through pretty good it looked like. The next day I made the mistake of trying to eat a little well chewed chili. I could not hold it down. Man the pressure in my chest was SO bad I thought I was going to die, finally I made a run for the sink and up it came. This is the first time I have thrown up since I had the surgery. Its been 4 days since the fill and I have really struggled keeping stuff down. I eat VERY slow and I chew chew chew. I am also noticing that my mouth waters a lot after I swallow, is this what people call "sliming"? All I am eating is yogurt, apple sauce, Soup and Protein drinks. I am thinking this will settle after a few more days but I wanted to get some feedback from those of you who have more experience with this. Thank you.

    Proper restriction = shock collar

lol. Maybe the guys on this site should have little tallywhackers that pop up when we post, that way the gals will know. On second thought, I don't want a little one...

    Banded this morning

Good for you! Hope all goes well, I am five weeks out and LOVE my band. Those first two weeks were hell but since then its been great. You are an official bandster!!
  13. I have had problem peeing after surgeries too, my plumbing is the outside variety (boy parts) so they had to do a cathider, YIKES, those hurt going in!! The nurse reminded me of Kathy Bates in the movie, Misery. I started calling her Iron Paws after that, I'd cover up whenever she came in the room, the women was a man hater and she took out her hatred on my little friend.

    Proper restriction = shock collar

Guys I'm getting my first fill on Friday April 4th then flying to Alaska on Sunday April 6th. Am I pushing it too close? Will I know if I'm too tight by Saturday evening? The fill will be done with flouro if that makes a difference.
  15. Good decision. If you never fill it it wont really be like you have one at all, then if you ever decide to use it you can get a few fills and see if you like that. Once you see what a great tool it can be and how easy they are to have you will be glad you have it. Just takes time. The way you felt in the beginning is probably more common than most realize.
