I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

Thats a good idea, get in and see him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just keep an open mind, Im not trying to change your mind my dear but please keep an open mind and hold in there for a little longer. I am at week 3 1/2 and I feel great. I can eat about anything and my energy level is great. At week one I was kicking myself in the ass for ever doing it, now I love it. I know you want it out and thats probably what will happen, but just know that we all hated our band that first little while and now we love them. Its darkest right before the dawn. Keep us posted.

I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

What did you expect from the band? Did you think this was going to be easy? Didn't you think through any of this before you decided to have surgery? If you can deal with being obese the rest of your life then why did you get the surgery in the first place? I don't mean to be hard on you but for you to want to give up after only 7 days is just amazing to me. That first two weeks was hard on me too but I knew that it was a necessary evil, I knew that I was the one who got myself fat so I was the one who was going to have to fix it. Were you a self pay? Has your doctor agreed to remove it?

    That lady at the top.

This is so funny!! I just did a post on this also, I should have looked to see if there were any posts on this but I thought I was the only one who noticed it! Very funny.

    That lady at the top.

See that lady at the top of your screen in the black shirt with the apple... why is she holding her boob??? I mean, it looks kinda sexy and all but boob holding in public is just not normal. :cursing:

    Other Montanans Out There

I am 3 weeks out from mine. Im sure you will do great. I found it all to be very easy and pretty painless. Good luck from Helena.
  7. Rumbuat did mine last week, he's one of the best. (BTW, he was banded himself.)
  8. As some of you know, I had my surgery done in Mexico on Thursday, February 14th by Dr. Rumbaul. First of all, let me say that Dr. Rumbaul, his staff and facilities are first class. No complaint, really a class act. The one thing that did surprise me was how uncomfortable I was after the surgery. The thing that was so bad was the pressure, not necessarily the pain, but the pressure that ran horizontally across my abdomen right across the bottom of my ribs and upper stomach. I had read on the forum about how uncomfortable it was but I have to say it was much, much worse than I had expected and I have a high tolerance for pain. For those first two days after the surgery, I was wondering what the hell I had gotten myself into. The third day I noticed it was quite a bit better, and on the fourth day (today) I feel great. No pain at all and the pressure is gone. Everyone talks about how walking will get out the air and relieve the pressure, so I walked, walked, walked almost all the first night, but for me that didn't help at all. The only thing that made it go away was the clock. So there you have it guys, I am official, I am a 'bandster'.

    Question-adults Only-strong Sexual Content

Wow... I didnt know chicks could do that.
  10. Do you have any idea what might have caused it? Were you too active? Did the original doctor not secure it properly? Was it filled to much? Did you have any type of trama? Did you over eat? :confused2:
  11. I have no doubt thats exactly why they dont want to do the fills. They figure they are going to punish those of us who saved money. Ba$t@rds.
  12. I live in Montana, I have only found one doctor here who does it and I dont know yet if he will take Mexico bands.
  13. Wow, that sounds very cool to watch, awesome. Keep us posted.

    mexico and bands

Surgery in Mexico is a great way to go, but like Kat817 said, you do lose the ability to litigate if things go bad. I used Dr Rumbuat and really liked him, there are several others around tj, Mexico who also sound good.

    Slippage: Causes? Treatment?

One more question lindaa-- do you have any idea how long after surgery the slippage was? Has the weight been coming off? (ok, that was two)

    Slippage: Causes? Treatment?

Bummer! Let us know what you find out, this is something we all fear. The good news is an un-fill/re-fill can fix it sometimes. Any idea what might have caused it? heavy lifting? eating too much early on? run over by dump truck? Just trying to figure out what to avoid.
  17. Thats pretty amazing. I was worried what mine would look like because I didn't do any pre-op diet or anything, heck I even pigged out to tell the truth. I asked the doc specifically and he said it looked great. To be fair, there were about 5 of us who all got the surgery on the same day, we got to know each other a bit while we were all in the hospital and hotel during post-op. The ones who were having the easiest time during post-op were the ones who followed the pre-op diet. I don't know if there is a connection but I did notice it. The lower BMI folks also had a tougher time... strange I though.
  18. Don't even worry, I completely spaced off the diet. When I got to Mexico two days before my surgery I grabbed a cab and went in search of some killer tacos. I found a great little taco place and ordered up a half a dozen taco's. I was SO full I near popped. The night before surgery I went out for Italian. With my meal I had one wine, that would be one bottle :cursing:. The next day after surgery I asked the doctor how everything looked in there and he said it was all good. :confused2:

    Done with surgery...WOW!

Dana, right close to the hotel you are staying at is a little strip mall, after your surgery its a good place to go walk. The weather in Mexico right now is awesome, you will love it.

Beginning as a low BMI bandster

At 6'2 and 243 pounds my BMI was pretty low (32?). I have diabetes real bad in the family and obesity is also a problem on my line. I have been watching as my weight has continued to climb each year even though I am constantly dieting so I decided to take control of it. I could see the writing on the wall so I got banded. To ensure I would be able to get the band I worked my ass off to get my BMI up to 35. Not healthy, but I was looking at the big picture. I got my weight up to 260 (have you seen Super-size Me?), and I also fudged on how tall I was-- BMI recorded at 35, surgery approved and done. (Mexico self pay).

do fills really make a difference?

Does one have to wait a certain amount of time between fills or will the doc do them all in a week or two? Another question-- are doctors going extra easy on the fills so they can do more and get more money??
  22. Hey Tater, I'm a rider too, I was just banned so I dont know the answer... I will watch though and see what others say.

    Done with surgery...WOW!

I flew home on day 4, I felt great. One lady in our group was fly home the day after me and she was more than ready too. I think you will do just fine.
  24. Well Monday is the day I fly out... I wont have time to get on the forum for the next few days so I will see you guys when I get back from the land of the flying taco. Thanks to all of you for the information I have gained here and to those of you who are soon to be banded I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. I will be back about a week from now with a tool installed that will help me regain the physique that I so miss. Good bye for now.
