    Looking for a Twin (03/07)

Hi guys, I created a group for us so we can all keep in touch and ask questions. It is titled Sleeve to bypass revision and is secret. If you add me on FB I will add you to the group. My name is Missy Lindsey and I am wearing red lipstick in my picture

For me my acid reflux got worse after surgery. With the rny you can loose more weight, have dumping to help with sugar cravings, and my surgeon made my sleeve to big so I didn't feel the restriction very well. I should have gone with rny in the beginning.

Good to know! I didn't know about the vitamins having to be name brand. I haven't gained any weight but I have been hovering for a while with 60 to go. I have always felt I could eat more than most people. Yay for us!

Hey girl! I will be getting a revision from sleeve to bypass on 4/24. I have been searching for info, but not much out there. Do you know what to expect as far as this starting weight loss back up, and if it will help with restriction again? Missy
  6. I am going to get a revision from the sleeve to the bypass due to GERD, but also needing to lose 60ish more pounds, so I am hoping it does the trick. I have always felt that I was able to eat more than most, so I am also hoping to get the restriction.
  7. @@OutsideMatchInside do you know how they calculate the rmr based off the DEXA scan? I'm just curious how accurate it is. I thought I would be getting the metabolic cart but the tech said those were less accurate for rmr compared to the scan. Also see your in Missouri like me. Where at if I may ask?
  8. How far are you out from surgery? So would you say that you keep your body in a constant state of ketosis? Are you foing that for just weightloss or maintaining? I am 5'9 and 238lbs right now. Would you say 60-80g of protein or how are you figuring your macros? Thank you for the help too!
  9. Thank you that makes sense. I will try cutting down carbs and calories
  10. I am so confused on what to do. My surgeon has told me to do around 1200 calories, yet I have been stalled for over two months. I aim for a Protein goal of around 90g, under 100 carbs, and under 50g for fat. I also drink a ton of Water so I know I am getting enough in. My confusion is that I've seen a ton of people who have been told by their surgeon to eat around 800 calories until they hit maintence. Also had a body scan today and it gives you your rmr based on your fat profile. I was told to eat around 1600 cals to lose 1-2lbs a week. This seems incredibly high. I wonder if since I am a bariatric patient if that doesnt apply to me. I am just worried I will not loose weight during the honeymoon phase and mess my weight loss up. Any advice would be much appreciated and details of ehat plan you are on to lose weight would be helpful! Thank you!
  11. The NP at my surgeons office has me at 1200 calories, not adding any back in with exercise. She said that anything under my body would think it's starving itself. Upping my calories helped me get out of a 3 week stall. I am 6 weeks post op.
  12. I have to keep my drain in for 10 days. I was told day two when I left the hospital that I should be concerned if I start seeing around 500ml, so I would assume your still good. But checking with surgeon always helps ease the nerves.
  13. My surgeon told me that most patients that do or are able to lose weight on their own, with therapy, or with medications do gain the weight back plus some within 5 years of losing. It is also harder for obese people to lose weight on their own compared to those who are simply overweight. This surgery is a last option for most of us, and im sure you already have tried it on your own and gained weight back.

    Weight gain

From the time I started with my dietician to now (almost 7 months) I have gained about 23 pounds, and I am still eligible for surgery. She even tells me this is why I am a good candidate for the surgery since I have been making positive changes, but keep gaining weight.

    Swallow Test and EGD

Good to have checked. I don't have to have the pre-op tests besides the blood tests. Not sure why...Also have my psych appointment this week and then submit to insurance
