I was able to ride in a 4D roller coaster simulator ride with my son and the 5 pt harness fit with room to spare! That was right before my surgery but I had lost 50 lbs. Then after surgery, being able to cross my legs.

How big is the sleeve?
time_for_me replied to bini120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had my swallow test at 2 weeks, a 1/2 of a dixie cup of that pink stuff filled mine up. I'm sure some of that is from swelling but the doc said that is a good frame of reference for how much I should eat. -

Hmm that sounds good! I will have to look at that when I go back to the grocery store. -

Those are what my nut told us to look at also. If we stay away from processed we should be pretty okay on the other.

Thank you! I have been doing several of those...but then I saw how many carbs are in beans and they kill my daily allowance. -

Thank you! That is exactly the kind of suggestions I need. I really appreciate it. Learning to eat healthy was hard enough, then to try to do it in certain food textures...tricky stuff lol! Fish and deli meats are okay on my plan. Need to go grocery shopping tomorrow! -

What is the best fish? I haven't ever really been a big fish eater because my husband hates the smell but he may have to deal with it. -

Having trouble on soft protein stage
time_for_me posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut has my husband and I on 20-30 carbs and a minimum of 60 protein a day and I'm really struggling with that right now. Seems all the soft protein things are high in carbs. Right now I drink a protein shake for breakfast, then late morning I have a Dannon light & fit greek yogurt but then I struggle from there. I'm having trouble getting in all my protein and staying below my carbs. Any suggestions on soft high protein things that are low to no carb? I'm sure this has been ask a million times even though I can't find it searching. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. -

I think your dr is crazy! I feel you pain, I had a horrible time on clear liquids. All the liquids made me so nauseous. I was allowed to have sugar free Jello and pudding. They weren't doing anything for me and I couldnt choke down Protein shakes at that point either. I gave in and started eating Greek yogurt at 1 1/2 weeks. It is the same consistency as pudding and it made me feel so much better! Now I a a little over 3 weeks (had surgery the 15th) and I can get muscle milk down but that greek yogurt saved me. While I agree bacon probably wasnt the best choice, when we are that weak and nasty feeling, it is hard to make good choices. I hope you are doing better now! -

We are surgery sisters! You are not the only one to feel that way. I cant stand the liquid diet. Soup and Jello and pudding...ugh! Protein shakes are the highlight of my day. I get to start soft protein tomorrow.

Secret Sleeve & Recovery Time?
time_for_me replied to Laughkc11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't going to tell anyone but then I changed my mind and shared with my noss and fellow coworkers. I had surgery on Wednesday June 15th and returned to work on the following Monday. I was only able to work 1/2 days, not from pain, but from fatigue. And I work for a school on summer break so it was pretty quiet but still to much physically. I returned to work this week full 9 hr days and I am still bit tired at the end but much better than last week. Hope that helps some. -

Newbie: sleeved on June 20th! So much fear already!
time_for_me replied to Mjohnson4631's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the fear of failure when I first came out of surgery too. I had my surgery on the 15th. Now my fears are that I cant get anything down hardly. I'm really pushing it to get maybe 20-25 oz in or all liquids a day. Protein shakes make me gag and sit like a lump. Soups, Water, g2...everything I'm trying to drink just sits like a lead weight and often causes nausea. And I have diarhea everyday. I have lost 17 lbs in 11 days and it scares the crap out of me because I'm afraid it is too much too fast. My dactor says I should be exercising 1 hr a day but I physically can't. I just don't have the energy. I feel like I am just one tiny step ahead of a date with an iv bag if it doesnt let up. I went back to work last week 1/2 days and this week I have to go to full 9 hr days. Hoping its just swelling still and it goes down soon! Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
