  1. I'm 15 months out now...I remember the struggles of the early days...feeling like it wasn't worth it. But it gets better, easier too. Once you start being able to eat and drink a little more normal, you'll begin to feel normal. It also helped me to think about the times when I was down because of my weight...those weren't such fun days. Fast forward 15 months, I went from 285 lbs to 185 lbs. The initial struggle was worth it...hang in there, it does get easier.

    Weight loss in feet

The nurse in the hospital told me that I would. Hmmm
  3. 4 weeks out and I feel soreness just over my belly button. About 1/2" above the incision. Not pain but a little tender. Also feels a little hard there. Anyone else experience this? I don't feel it is enough of a concern to call surgeon. Figure it's just scar tissue from the surgery.
  4. My temp went up day or 2 after surgery as well. Not high but like 100.1. Inflammatory response can do it. Surgeon instructions said call if over 101.

    Scared to eat different foods

I'm 4 weeks out and understand the fear of new things as well as wanting something different. I'm looking forward to my next stage and being able to eat meats. A meatball or tuna salad sounds great.
  6. 3 weeks 2 days out. Met with primary care and surgeon 2 days ago and all seems fine. Having some pain (ache) at top incision and am paranoid. No fever, but did have a rapid heartbeat earlier right after trying humus for first time. Not feeling sick just anxious. Thanks
  7. I'm only 3 weeks out. By day 5 it's very different. Hang in there. I just had real food. It gets bettee
  8. They seem to go through me. Even tried making with lactaid milk today. Using whey. Tomorrow I get powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth delivered. I hope that is good? Anyone else like this? I'm 13 days out.
  9. I just got the chicken broth the other day. Awesome stuff
  10. The isopure drinks are good. No problems. Hoping the chicken broth from unjury will be good. Am I supposed to not drink 30 min before and after a protein drink?
  11. So I'm two days out and my nutritionist advised I could ear dannon light and fit yogurts in any flavor. While eating the coconut and pineapple I had a small piece of pineapple, more like a shred, go down. Painful but the pain subsided. Could I have damaged the sleeve?
  12. Pain is much better. I coughed today without pain. I only took 2 Percocet all of yesterday and so far none today. I keep reminding myself that it's only been 5 days since surgery.
  13. Started adding more protein in now via whey protein shakes but having a bit of diarrhea. Should I stick to clear proteins? Nutritionist recommended maybe lactaid milk instead of skin plus. Could be just stomach adjusting? Ugh. Very frustrating. I hate GI issues too.
  14. I too was sleeved on Thursday. The belly button is definitely sore. The pain on my right side was probably air (we saw it in the swallow test ). Coughing is awful. Hell, a hiccup hurt. Things that work for me: a small stool next to the bed so easier in and out. I'm still hunched over while walking. I feel your pain though.

    Damage to sleeve

This wasn't a big chunk. But it felt like sponge bobs house was in me.

    Damage to sleeve

Maybe she didn't realize it had a little pineapple in it. Feeling better now. I just have a great imagination of a tiny piece of pineapple clinging to a staple and causing an issue.
  17. Had my sleeve on 2/18 in the afternoon. Discharged 24 hours later. - slight fever of 100.2 but not the aches or chills so I'm guess it's my body's inflammatory response? Discharge orders say to contact Doctor if above 101. - still hard to drink. Water hurts even if in small swallows. Normal? Guess just feeling scared.
  18. Hope we both get better quick.
  19. I'm 6 hours post op and took my first walk. That hurt! How long should I expect it hurt that much? Sipping hurts a little but the short walk was no fun.
  20. Ok I'll add this too. Feel like I gotta pee but hard to go.
  21. So, I'm 8 days out and having my doubts.... I've been getting negative push back from some family "this is permanent", "you don't look like you need to lose that much", "you'll regret it later", " you're never going to be able to go out to eat and enjoy"...I"m sure you've heard it all before. I've been trying some of the protein shakes and am really not loving them but I guess it's only temporary. For someone in their 40's, I sound like a big baby. There's a voice inside me saying don't do it, try dieting again, if you can commit to the sleeve you can commit to the diet. Just venting I guess...nerves building.
