False positive HCG test
cat.jackson89 replied to malonesgirl06's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This is horrible! Not just for you- but your wife!! Could you imagine? So sorry you two are going through this. Hope it works out soon! -
Miralax in warm water! I took it the other day because I hadn't had a BM in over a month- worked within a couple hours.

Skin Tightening - non-surgical
cat.jackson89 replied to Amylou's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Try looking up cool sculpting. Not sure how much it is- but it's not surgical, there's no downtime, and I've heard really good things about it! -
Cat.jackson89..how are you doing with your post op now that a few days have past? Are you having pureed food now or have you moved on to real food I'm just curious how things are going for you? Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App I'm doing great! I have some pain when I bend over, but I've been limiting my bending as much as possible. I did get moved up to the puréed phase last week, and it definitely slows the weight loss, but I'm still losing

Probably normal pain but need reinforcement

Glad to hear! -
I'm 2 weeks post op, and feel like crap. I've been feeling like crap for 2-3 days, now. I've been consuming protein, so I don't think that's the problem, here. I haven't had anything I'm not supposed to- I just don't know what to do. Could it be that I haven't taken my vitamins? I ordered the multivitamin patch, and I've been waiting for it to be delivered. I literally have just been so drained & nauseated.. I can't even drink Powerade zero- I can only tolerate water now. [emoji30]

You can find the Multivitamin patch at PatchMD.com or here at the bariatric pal store. I'm aware of what I need to take- and my Physicians Assistant told me at my 10 day follow up that I was to start the following day. Everyone is different. Our bodies are different, and Our illnesses are different. I know what I was told to do/not do. Even in the slight chance you are a physician, you're not MY physician, therefore I would appreciate that when I say what I was told to take & when, that you would BACK OFF.

I was told in the hospital not to take Vitamins until instructed to do so.. And I wasn't told to do so until my appointment on my 10th day post op.
-
That's what I said. I ordered the vitamin patch a week ago, it just hasn't come in yet. I wasn't supposed to start taking them til day 11, anyway.. So I'm only a few days behind.

Where do you get the nutritional cheese? Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App It's in more high end grocery places. Google it, and it might bring up where you can find it.

I get the same pain bending over.. I'm an ekg/ cardiac monitor tech, so I also have a lot of bending required in my work. I have 2 more weeks before I have to go back to work, though. See your doctor about the lumps! -
I felt the same way!

It's possible- I do have 3 toddlers.. But I haven't been having telltale signs of having a virus. I'm hoping I'm just having a weird couple days & I can chalk it up as an adjustment lol
-
I never thought about that! I'll definitely look into it! It would make sense- since our bodies are going through so much change in such a short time. Thanks!

Like the cheese you put on popcorn..

I just made a peanut butter smoothie with Vanilla Unjury protein powder. I followed a recipe given to me by my nutritionist- it is amazing!!!

I'll have to check it out! Chocolate mint sounds amazing!

My RN after bypass told me its best to wear compression garments to support muscle that may cause pain after surgery (like I was having).. You can find them for $20 on Amazon, just like Maternity garments.
-
I also had a debilitating back pain prior to surgery.. 4 pregnancies, 9 years as a gymnast, 6 years in cheer, massive weight gain after said pregnancies.. Also, my posture is terrible after the weight gain. My back didn't stop hurting when I got my RNY.. And it seems to be consistent with where it was before. If I stand up completely straight, my right side of my abdomen has a searing pain- so it's difficult to make adjustment.. Hope you figure out the problem, & you're able to fix it! Hopefully weight loss and exercise will aid.

Have you been having trouble managing your tsh & t4 levels? PCPs are able to monitor thyroid function, but it might be best just to visit with an Endo at least once a year.. Talk to your PCP, see if they think it's a good idea, should you need referred, etc

Sugar free ice cream?
cat.jackson89 replied to cat.jackson89's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes.. I'm absolutely terrified! I haven't dumped, because I'm very very aware of what I'm eating, but I have been nauseated just because a lot of things we're able to eat, don't agree with my new pouch [emoji45] -
Sugar free ice cream?
cat.jackson89 replied to cat.jackson89's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Do you use an ice cream maker? This sounds amazing! I am obsessed with mint ice cream, so if I am able to find a way to make it- I would be the happiest girl in the world -
Not everyone is the same with dosing and restrictions. I was told not to take calcium within 4 hours, too, and to take on an empty stomach.. Which I never did because I was pregnant and it made me sick to wait a whole hour to eat in the morning. Never affected my tsh whatsoever.
