  1. I didn't see my weight loss until I turned in the mirror. Most of the weight I'm carrying and WAS carrying- was on my back! But if you compare photos of before your surgery and now- you will see the progression! Sometimes that's what it takes. Don't get discouraged! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. So I've been getting asked ALOT to post before photos. The problem with that is I was so disgusted with myself, I never really took photos of my full body. But I found a few- and it's time lapsed over 11 months. 74 pounds down. Top left was taken TODAY Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Almost 3 months post op.. Down 64 pounds!

Thank you!! I lost 16.5 pounds my first week. I had a lot of pain in my right side! And the gas was unbearable. The first couple weeks were really horrible. But I stuck to it! I am so proud of my progress, and that I stuck to the regimen. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Almost 3 months post op.. Down 64 pounds!

I walk 14 miles a day working at a hospital, but aside from that, I do elliptical 25 minutes, I do butterfly press (reps and weights vary), I do bike 25 minutes, stair master 25 minutes, and go back to work for cool down. That's it. I stretch at home a lot. Drink Powerade zero and Vitamin Water zero. Eat nonfat Greek yogurt only, that's it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. I had 3 back-to-back pregnancies.. One in 2012, one in 2013, and one in 2014. The cravings were terrible!! Pregnancy cravings suck, but the post- pregnancy cravings are so much more intense!!! Add to the mix that my thyroid took 5 years to get my thyroid on track- it finally stabilized this year.. So my metabolism was shot. I exercised.. Walked 14 miles a day at work, pushing patients throughout one of the largest hospitals in PA. And still couldn't control my weight. In 2011, before I had my younger three children, I was a size 6. Went all the way up to a 22 when I had my surgery.

    Young and getting the bypass

Just tell them you made a lifestyle change: eating healthy and exercise. All of this will be true- you're only omitting the part about surgery. I'm 26 and just got a RNY nearly 4 weeks ago. Best decision I've ever made. When I was 23, my neurologist team didn't agree that I needed WLS- so My weight kept spiraling out of control.. I have Pseudtumor Cerebri, Papilledema, & Hashimoto's, and I got pregnant back-to-back 3 times because thyroid medication aids fertility I was forced to get lumbar punctures and blood Patches every other Friday for 2 years! until I switched neurologists, they read my entire medical history, and actually listened to the torture I've endured over the course of my young twenties. I was so excited when my new neuro signed off on the surgery, I ran around work telling EVERYBODY. I'm an open book, though, so I didn't care what anyone thought... I was finally getting relief from the headaches and the pain from the spinal taps, and then the pain after the spinal tap from a low pressure headache.. The blood transfusions.. Everything. So do as you wish.. But if you wish to not speak on the surgery, like I said above- just tell them it was from a lifestyle change. Really, even after the surgery, it's the change in your eating habits and exercise that is going to make you lose weight, anyway. Best of luck to you!

    Stretch Marks

What does everyone use, if anything, to help lighten stretch marks? I have a lot and they travel all the way to my bra line... 4 pregnancies and eating cupcakes really took a toll on my body. [emoji856]

    Sugar free ice cream?

I made a basic vanilla ice cream today. It was delicious!
  22. I've actually seen people get rid of this problem. Or greatly reduce it. I've seen trials after trials of the IT WORKS! Wraps that people put on their "double chin" and excess skin.. After 3 weeks, you notice a huge difference. It might be worth it to try it.. Much much much cheaper than plastics.. I don't sell it works though, so my advice to you, would be to find someone who does.
  23. I had a lower BMI when I started this journey. It took me three years to get a neurologist to sign off on it. I have Pseudotumor Cerebri & Papilledema. In the first 8 days of my RNY, I lost 36.5 pounds. I chose bypass over sleeve & band, because my surgeon told me I wouldn't have as great of a weight loss with the other two, and I was a perfect candidate for the bypass. I needed to have a drastic weight loss in a short time or my Pseudotumor would get worse. I'm happy with the results I have so far. I'm 3 weeks out, and the pounds just keep dropping.
