Good Luck honey!!! It will be one year for me March 10th and I've lost 50 but gained 8 back. The only problems I have had was my band being too tight causing me reflux. I'm still not in the right mind set of this band thing. I want to enjoy food, I miss food, I get depressed becuase I can not eat as much as I use to but the weight is coming off slowly so there's plus in this also. I only have 30 more pounds to go. On the average I was one of the smaller ones to get the band. I was 5'4" and 207 lbs. I just was not happy with my self of life at that point, still not but I'm getting there. I've only been overweight 3 years of my entire life and it is killing me!!!! What do you mean I opened the box saw the band and signed by my S/N I have a Patient Identification Card, exrays and have been for adjustments twice. Yes he was very nice put also very professional. Again I'm sorry for your experience

I went for a band adjustment Tuesday of last week November 21 and my doctor here in Columbia said that I had the best placed port that he has seem. It was very easy to get to making my adjustmest almost pain free. Needle always hurt. Did your wife get a new band? Oh yeah he was not with mayo clinic when I received my band.

Me and my best friend went to him in March of this year (2006) and our experience could not have been better. She has not had one fill and has lost over 50 pounds. I've had 2 fills and a reflux problem and have lost 50 pounds. When I had my reflux problem he told me exactly what to tell my doctor here to do form me and everything is great now!!! He phoned me back with in 3 hours of my email and has since kept intouch with me to make sure I'm doing well. I'm sorry to hear about your wife, I hope all is well now.

so do you think it works like nexium??? What about slippage or erosion do you know what the systoms form those are?

I have noticed sice the refulx i have lost a great deal more weight and faster. Thats why i hope i can live with it so the weight loss will continue. I was losing about 1 pound a week now it 3 or 4 pounds, for the past 2 weeks.

Is protonix anything like prevacid?

Me too honey thats why i didn't go for an unfill!!! i figured if it way to bad then i would go but as long as i can handle it with diet and nexium i wont get an unfill. i would rather stay on nexium the rest of my life. I dont do well the prevacid or tums what about yall?

Wonder why some of us burp and burp a great deal and others can not??? I do know when my burping started I found out i had reflux. It got so bad i could not even hold down water. i went to my gp and she put me on nexium and my doctor in mexico told me to get an unfill immediatly but i dont have anyone in S.C. that will see me so I didn't do that. I just took the nexium and went to a liquid diet and now I'm getting where i can hold down food. I had no idea the yucky stuff that i was throwing up the past 6 weeks was becasue of acid reflux i thought it was because i was over eating. oh well i know now. can you take anything for the burps with out it effecting acid reflux-

I started out 207- 5'3" so my BMI was not that much either. I was band on March 10th 2006 and have lost 32 pounds-- the weight is coming off slowly for me but I do see results and I would not change a thing. I've only had 2 fills and my best friend that went with me has not had a fill yet!!! She has lost right at 40 pounds. I would not change a thing. I do not lose weight every week but then the scales will go down 3 or 4 pounds in one week. It by be 3 or 4 more weeks before I lose again but I do lose!!! Its nice to be able to go out and not feel like everyone is smaller than you, and you dont belong because you are over weight. I feel like I fit in more now and I'm not so judgemental about myself anylonger. What keeps me going is 32 pounds in 23 weeks== That's results, I never had before. I received my band 3/10/06 form Dr. Huacuz in MX I've lost 33 pounds so far . :-) NO PROBLEMS WITH EROSION Mindy, Columbia SC

I have a 10 cc band and was given 3 cc. This was under fluro and at 3.2 cc the liquid was coming back up so they removed .2 leaving me with 3 cc.

My insurance paid for the Fluro the doctors office she took me to filled it themselves so there was no charge for me :-) and Chabuttter the only Dr's that do fills in Columbia SC do not do them under Fluro and their charge is still 500.00 for a fill thats why I went with Fill Centers USA-- I love the extra help they offer as well. Ther book is great I only wish I would have received it sooner!!

Hello everyone!! I just wanted to share a little information. I went for my first fill May 3rd, I felt a little restriction the first 2 days and then nothing about a week later BAM!!! i have restriction. I couldn't believe it. The only problem now is, I find myself wanting to eat small amounts all day long. I'm really having to work at not eating inbetween meal. I'm getting a gallon of water in a day and have lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks. Some progress is better than none for me!!!

I have no idea... I did not weight enough to have the surgery in the states thats why i went to Mexico. I dont think my insurance will pay for my fills now but they will pay for the floro (not the fill, just the use of the machine) Call your insurance company and ask them. It cant hurt. I think I'm going to call my insurance company as well. Thanks for the reminder!!! have a good weekend.

Yes but my insurance paid for it. I think it's like 400.00 if you dont have insurance pluse the fee to USA fill center.

When the fill is not under floro its hard to tell if you are restricted to much or not enough. I could not tell if my band was getting tighter or not, some people can but I could not. I dont think any docotor would have started me out with 3cc without seeing that anything less would not have provided me with restriction. At one point they put too much in and the fluid was coming back up, she said that was too tight. (i could not tell any of this so they took some out and I ended up with 3cc.)
