  1. I am in Wellington, New Zealand and have just started my nil by mouth for surgery tomorrow morning. I have been so organised and prepared for this that it feels strange to hand over responsibility tomorrow to my medical team. I have total trust in them, it's just that I really feel that I own this journey myself. Weird or what. Also, I have not been nervous at all until 2 days ago, suddenly I feel scared. Hoping all this is fairly normal?
  2. I'm with Inner Surfer Girl. Would be a great idea Eva if you could talk to someone about your depression. The fact you have mentioned it is a positive thing, I believe. You obviously recognise this is an issue, good for you. Please take the time to look after yourself, and thanks for your encouragement for me. Take care.
  3. Hi everyone, hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of experienced users! I am 3 days out from surgery (WAHOOOOO!) and want to start tracking my food. I have an iPad and an Android phone which both have the MyFitnessPal app downloaded. I would like the ability to track on either device and have that account sync. Is that possible? If so, how on earth do you do that? Normally I'm reasonably tech-friendly but either the Very Low Calorie Diet I'm on has sucked the brains from me or I can't see the obvious!! Any advice gratefully received.
  4. Kia ora! I am a 47 yr old woman living in New Zealand and I'm being sleeved this Friday, 29th Jan. Keen to find some buddies from anywhere in the world that is going through the same thing on a similar timeframe. Love to hear from you!
  5. Hi Lisa, my name is Jo, would be great to be sleeve buddies even though we are thousands of miles apart! I'm a 47 yr old working Mum ( you say "Mom") living in Wellington, New Zealand. My surgery admission time is 7:30am this Friday 29th, so that will be about lunchtime Thursday your time. Don't know about you, but I am actually really excited! How about you?
  6. @@Nurse_Lenora and @AliAqua....EUREKA! Many thanks for your advice. I thought that should be the case but for the life of me it wasn't working. Turns about there was a syncing issue on my phone which is now resolved and it and my iPad are not happily talking to each other. Thanks for your prompt replies.
  7. Hey @@frankenstein, I am so happy that you got yourself out of the funk. I am being sleeved on Friday (29th) and had a vivid dream about being in hospital for the first time last night. Your brave post and all the replies have been awesome for me, so thanks for "manning up" with the post. My husband sounds just like you and he also probably needs the surgery, but he's not there yet mentally. He is waiting to see what happens with me. Like you he is terrified of all the things he 'won't be able to do' (read - BEER). I am thinking of you today for your surgery all the way from New Zealand - see how far this community goes! All the very best and I will see you on the other side on Friday. Kia kaha! (That is Maori language for 'Stay Strong!")
  8. Thanks lizcan! Hope you have found it as wonderful as I am hoping it will be.
